and stupid slang no doubt.

DS has been decluttered to his dads for the weekend and will be going to see the Harlem Globe Trotters tomorrow, which he has been looking forward to since last October. OH was ment to go with DS but due to the bike ride being this weekend he couldnt go, so KH is going with DS but he doesnt have a clue about basket ball, so Im hoping he wont spoil it for DS.

All the washing is in off the line but hasnt been foldered as i CBA.

hug.gif for AJ and Vanilla. Hope I haven't missed anyone else as I skimmed through but please collect a share of a hug if needed.

Congratulations Seafarer's Wife.

Glad to hear the news was good Paulies Nixie

More stupid volumes of work for me this week. Really struggling with the four day/three day/four day weeks too - e-mails don't stop arriving in my In Box for Bank Holidays so I already know I'm even further behind than I am now before Tuesday comes - and my colleague has four days off over the next couple of weeks, and I'm dreading having to cope with even more work. Looks as if I wasn't the only one with Bank Holiday problems - normally on the last day before Bank Holiday the office is nearly empty by 4.00 pm. On Thursday, I left at 6.00 pm, and there were still plenty of people there. :(

Flying has been erratic, but had a good day today working through the ironing heaps while watching the wedding. And had a general tidy around. Hopefully tomorrow I will be able to catch up on some of the rest of the cleaning. DH has blistered heels from his work boots, so I suspect I will be flying solo. Might pick an area and have a fling. Mind you, much relieved today to discover that the tatty summer gardening trousers which I have become convinced I had thrown out in a flying fling, were in fact in the ironing heap. I do need them, honest!

+6S9rAAAAAElFTkSuQmCC Hugs for aj and vanilla.

Congratulations to seafarer's wife

I watched the wedding, had a late lunch, went shopping for a few bits - and that was it really - and cleaned the bathroom, which was filthy.

I intended to go to the allotment, but perhaps I can sneak down tomorrow morning.

:hello:to all my flylady friends!

:A for hex and greenbee. They know why.

Love and hugs, especially for toots, lady-liberty, and lamewolf.

Evening all

Hugs, AJ. Sending vibes for a peaceful and painfree passing.
Congratulations, seafarer's! That's lovely news.

I was in a foul mood last night and finally decided to go to bed at a reasonable time with my book - couldn't be bothered with anything.

Courtesy of a friend who is not so keen on weddings, our car now has two new wing mirrors (he found them on the internet, £80 incl fitting). :A

I went shopping today for my outfit for the reunion do next weekend (with DH and DS2). We had high street vouchers I could use at Debenham's and I found a Julien Macdonald tunic top in the sale that will look great with some black leggings (not from Debenham's), and then dropped on strappy high heel sandals in the same colour, 70% off. :j £35 for both, so there was enough left for a new winter duvet for us from Matalan (half-price, too). :D I'm so fed up with our lumpy thing, which isn't even very old. I hope the new one is better quality and will last longer. A new summer quilt is next on the list.

Otherwise I've had a lazy day (watched wedding highlights, amongst other things), so will have to make up for it from tomorrow. I'll post a list in the morning. For tonight I shall watch lots of the make do and mend programmes recommended on another thread. :D

This may be a silly question. We've always had fairly cheap bedding, but over a year ago I dropped on a 'designer' set at Matalan at half price. I really love the feel of the bedding (quilt cover and pillow cases), compared to our other set. Ever since then I've been looking for something similar, but I'm not sure what to look for (how to recognise it) - if that makes sense. Any tips? Matalan don't feature this particular designer anymore and I haven't seen any others there on offer that I've liked. I don't do sheets, other than a fitted sheet on the mattress.

I also bought a stainless steel teapot for £5 from Asda living. DH commented on the good quality of the large pack of Yorkshire Tea teabags, so I checked and realised that they are meant for two cups. :( At least they'll last us twice as long now. :T I may treat myself to an extra strong cuppa every now and then, though. ;)

Time to get comfortable and watch a bit of telly. x

As an 'Essex Girl', I would like to point out that we are not all like that!

Another proud Essex Girl here. I second your statement!!!!

AJ Thinking of you and your family.

Seafarers - Fantastic news!

Vanilla - hope you are OK

Done nothing today :p. Watched wedding (and the repeats).
Major disagreement with DH that kicked off yesterday but it is sorted now.

Soappie's the bedding expert - something to do with thread count. Try TK Maxx too (end of lines & stuff)
have packed my e bay sale ready to post - and a mega bit of decluttering/where there's muck there's brass moment. I sold a tin which contained a mug and coaster. The mug and coaster are in use. The tin though could well have gone in the recycling - but I offered it on e bay and it sold!
I have also found the three pairs of underpants that came in a set as one pair split on the seam. So they are being returned to the shop, presumably for a refund*, under SOGA - found the receipt too.

DS's passport has been located. The bag of suitcase locks/keys is still missing...

*as they were on offer I dont expect they'll have any left;)

All todays washing has been ironed; another load prepped for the machine.
Bank account *almost* up-to-date.

Got a bit carried away on the ancestry site (free marriage data to celebrate the royal wedding). Tomorrow I shall have a sore neck, sore wrist and will want to do another entire family!
