From a legal point of view Vodafones contract is pretty watertight, they have you over a barrel, you changed the terms or the contract, they didnt, whether they say you should have signal doesnt make any difference, the only way you'd win a court case is if they didn't bother showing up, it'd be less hassle just to pay the £200 out of your volumous bank account

People are trying to help you, but I suspect the real essence behind your post is that you are seeking an easy way for early termination of a contract

This is what DUTR wrote, which is he opinion, and totally wrong, its nothing to do with early termination, Vodafone claim they cover the village and they clearly dont, all I want is a phone that works.

These people make billions out of us, and its about time they had a
    Conscience

I think you're getting mixed up.....no-one is tryingt to help me here....I didn't come on asking for help.
I have no contract with Vodafone and am not seeking to cancel said non-existent contract.:D

Why is DUTR obsessed with were the village is, does he want to come buy me a pint!! No he wants to go on the Vodafone website to use their coverage checker so he can have another go, does not matter where the village is. As for his aguement that in his job he finds that most places have coverage, does not wash,
    more waffle snipped

The point of knowing the village is to simply drive there with my vodafone sim and see that there is indeed vodafone coverage there .
There is no need for me to have a go, you want us to believe you and not vodafone where as it it is very easy to determine who is telling the truth., perhaps that is why you are reluctant to state which village it is.

    ?????????????????????????????

Sorry, don't get that point at all. There are many black spots for all network providers and there is absolutely no reason to doubt that OP does not get reception in his village.

If the nearest Vodafone mast is over 20 miles away, would that not lend weight to the fact that there is a poor signal strength there? It happens and we all recognise the presence of black spots.

But we are dealing with Vodafone CS here and, if I recall, an overseas call centre. It matters not a jot whether there is or is not a signal - OP moved there and the position is the same - i.e. tough! What is infuriating is being told blatant untruths by CS, if that is indeed what happened.

If there is no signal and Voda hold their hands up and say "Our data is incorrect and you are right - the village has no reception. Sorry" it won't make a bit of difference to the outcome, though.

OP's main beef is being given wrong info from Vodafone time and time again in spite of evidence to the contrary. He writes "So its not a case its my fault because I am moving, if they said to me sorry there is no signal where you are moving to I could accept that". That seems pretty clear to me.

I'm fully aware that there will be dead spots, but a spot does not equate to a whole village in Yorkshire UK.
Or how come nobody can/wants to name such a place?

I was PM'd. Apparently the village is called Royston Vasey - well known, apparently, for dead spots - and the villagers would love you to come and check.

Yes, I hear it's as fictional as the Op's complaint :rotfl:

A small fictional town in the north of England, and the setting of the BBC television comedy series The League of Gentlemen.

Googling brings up quite a bit of information about the village.

    Hi Iancmitch,

Apologies I have stepped into this thread so late on.

I understand how frustrating it can be to not have signal at your home, especially having been told that there is coverage.

As Simax previously mentioned, the information that we receive from our coverage checker is as a guide and is not always 100% accurate. This is where I think there has been some disagreement in what you have been told.

You mentioned in one of your posts that some companies struggle to provide a Broadband connection in the village. Does this mean that you don't have broadband at your new address? The reason I ask is (as DeeMarie89 so rightly mentioned) we have a device available called Sure Signal. This connects through a home broadband connection via a router and will enable a full 3G coverage for up to four phones all used in the house at the same time.

I would certainly like to look into this matter for you in more detail, as it is clearly an issue that you would like resolving.

For me to do that, can you drop me an email here with WRT135 FAO Heidi in the subject. That way I can personally follow this up.

    Best wishes,
