VodaFone Unfair Contract
I am currently tied into VodaFone until June 2012.
I am moving house and the village I am moving to does not receive a VodaFone signal, only 02 or Orange. I have tried searching manually for networks, and only 02 and Orange can be found on my phones (I have tried four so far). The some 300 people that live in the village also confirm that you cannot get Vodafone there.
However VodaFone help desk (Indian) keep saying their system says I can get Vodafone there and say if I want to leave them it will cost me £200. They are not at all being helpful, I have suggested I meet them in the village and they will see for themselfs that it does not work, but because the 'Computer says yes' they are just being bloody minded:wall:
Can anyone help please?

The general rule on this is, as you've decided to move it's not the networks fault you've picked somewhere they have no signal. They won't let you out of the the contract.
If you'd have started the contract there and found there was no signal, then you could have cancelled in the first 7 days.0 -
Many thanks, surely though because they insist that my phone will work and it doesnt does that not count?0

No as its you that is making the phone not work .
by moving .
No guarantee of a signal with a contract .

Once again many thanks for the replies, its not a case that I am moving so its my fault, as that is not Vodafones agrument, they insist there is a signal and there quite clearly is not a signal, I can prove there isnt one and they have given me no proof that there is!
So its not a case its my fault because I am moving, if they said to me sorry there is no signal where you are moving to I could accept that
If Vodafone, myself and a judge stood in the village and Vodafone said there is a signal, he could see there was no signal so a no brainer for Vodafone, but of course they are not brave enough to do that0 -
Have you moved or are moving in future? The people you speak to will look at your current place of residence as the place to check there is signal. Anywhere else - its not guaranteed to be ok - if you decide to move its down to you.0

It's not Vodafone's fault that you're moving to an area not supported by them. Your contract still stands I'm afraid.Have I helped? Feel free to click the 'Thanks' button. I like to feel useful (and smug).0

Is it just me? or am I not writing this correctly? Vodafone say that there IS a signal where I am moving to and they have put this in writing to me via email
However there IS NOT a signal there and I have walked the whole village, so they are wrong and therefore I have a case0 -
The reason's not relevant. You had a contract based on them supplying a signal at the location you where when you began the contract.
You have changed your side of that contract by moving. It's not the networks fault that you've moved to somewhere (for whatever reason) they don't cover.0 -

Somehow Sir, I doubt very much that there is no Vodafone outdoor coverage in the village that you are moving to.
I don't even know what village it is, but I am sure there is coverage there :beer:0
