Well you stated in your first post that it would cost £200 to leave the contract...so you've obviously enquired.

A couple of things to note about this forum.........
Not everyone on it is short of money. Some are, some aren't. In fact I've seen a few posts indicating that members earn 6figure salaries and others where people have inherited several hundred thousand pounds.
So don't get the idea that because you have a few quid it makes you better.

One other thing....if you want friendly advice, don't call people "morons", "numptys" (complete with spelling mistake), or tell them to "butt out".
Be truthful, honest, and accept that if you're asking for help, many people on here will know more about that subject, whatever it is, than you.

If, as you say, it's "not about money" why not simply join whatever network your new village gets, and leave the vodafone handset in a drawer, or car for emergencies?
People are trying to help you, but I suspect the real essence behind your post is that you are seeking an easy way for early termination of a contract

This is what DUTR wrote, which is he opinion, and totally wrong, its nothing to do with early termination, Vodafone claim they cover the village and they clearly dont, all I want is a phone that works.

These people make billions out of us, and its about time they had a
    Conscience

Well, if you would like an "informed" opinion (I used to work for CPW, so that should be enough for you)
Vodafone have provided you with a service as perthe original terms of the contract. There is a signal at the residence where you took out the contract. Should you wish to alter the contract by moving house, Vodafone are under no obligation to ensure there is signal at the new property, as it is you that has moved, and if this is such a large issue for you, you should have purchased a house where you can physically see that you have signal.
Whether they are saying they have signal when there is not is neither here nor there, as stated above, they use a coverage map to determine this, however this map is only a guide and not a 100% guarantee.
Even if you proved in a court of law that there was no signal, Vodafone would not be under any obligation to allow you to terminate your contract for free, as YOU are the one that has caused this loss in signal by moving to an area which is not covered. You obviously have been to this village to view the property, and so before placing an offer, you should have made sure your phone was fully operational on this area.
If it was not, you should have bought a house somewhere that is.
Does that sound silly? Buying a house based on coverage? Because if so, maybe you ought to bite the bullet and pay the termination fees which, I'm sorry to say, you are liable for, whether or not you can prove that there is no signal, as provision of signal in an area that is not the original residency where the contract is taken out, is not Vodafone's problem, nor is it a condition of the contract that should you move, they must provide you with a signal.

However, as you are on contract, Vodafone will provide a sure signal box for free, which you plug into your broadband, and will ensure you have a signal at your property.
Thank you for the tip about the sure signal box, no one as mentioned this before not even Vodafone.

Yes it is silly buying a house that gets a signal, you buy a house because you like it.

I have experience in legal matters and have won many cases for the company I retired from, so I do not agree with some of your points, they have put it in writing that I can use my phone there, they have not said maybe, they have said totally yes, in a court that is enough and they have to prove it, I can proof it does not

This is in no way meant to fuel any arguement but the overiding term may people seem to miss when talking about coverage on a mobile phone is the term MOBILE. if it were a landline fair enough, but the fact that the phone is mobile means coverage can be had in other areas...I understand the OP's frustrations but you're flogging a dead cat here, just bite the bullet, pay the £200 and get on with enjoying early retirement on a network with coverage.

    CC limits £26000

    Long term CC debt £0

Total low rate loan debt £3000

    Almost debt free feeling, priceless.

Ex money nightmare, learnt from my mistakes and never going back there again, in control of my finances for the first time in my adult life and it feels amazing.

thank you Guys Dad, I have been on the sitefinder web site, there are only masts from Orange (two) 02 (one) and there is one from T-Mobile that is several miles away but gives a poor signal. There are no masts from Virgin or Vodafone within 20 miles

Whilst I can see your point, even if you can prove in a court of law that they do not provide a signal, it will not change things. As they are not contractually obligated to provide a signal to any premises you may move to now, or in the future, you would not be able to use any of this information to cancel your contract fee-free :(

Read up on suresignal and see if it will meet your needs.

I am with Orange and also, ironically, with Vodafone where I have a cheap sim-only to keep my ex-work number.

I have no Orange signal at home so I was going to cancel, but they have a similar thing to suresignal called UMA that only works on certain Orange phones. I does mean that, when it is working, I can get perfect reception and, thankfully, it usually does. It is free, but only works on a limited range of mobiles, but I believe suresignal costs £50.

If otherwise Vodafone provides a good service and at a decent price, then, as long as you get a trial, you have nothing to lose. But do talk to a proper technical rep to determine whether it is a goer or not. By the way, with a mast 20 miles away, I can#t see how they can say that they have a service to your village, unless they were mast sharing.

again, you are missing the point, VODAFONE SAY THEY DO COVER THIS VILLAGE MY GOD WHAT A BUNCH OF MORONS, DONT WORRY NO NEED TO REPORT ME I WILL BE DELETING MY PROFILE, AS NO CHANCE OF HELP FROM SUCH NUMPTYS

:rotfl:Charming! I hope you enjoy having no signal in your new village and paying for the privillege!

    I mentioned it in post #25 ;)
I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂
