Do they not give you a choice of kitchens robsmum? I hope you find something nice a neutral that you like. But imagine hitting next winter WITHOUT your storage heaters :T
I am having a challenge finding the internals for fitted wardrobes - have decided that I am not in the mood for cruising ebay so am going to put water in the windscreen washers of my car instead - I told you that this was a pretty "random" list:cool:
MIght try B&Q later.
Like crickett I am running out of steam - but have cleared loads of niggles today. Need to put on the BM for bread for boys lunch tomorrow and then have another look at my list to see what else I can achieve.
I am itching to start really cleanig and decorating - but I am simply not up to it yet - maybe in a week or so.
Has anyone seen Fantasia lately?? Wonder how her new job is going?

I’ve been quietly lurking today, but it’s time to de-lurk.
Been in a grumpy mood most of the day due to lack of sleep, something I must sort out (need a cortisone injection for hip pain) by making an appt with the dr…will do this as soon as I’ve posted.
But anyway, I was interested in the talk about setting up the ‘negative wealth’ on regular payments and thereby diverting focus away from it so as to focus on more positive things. How true! I feel annoyed with myself for not having seen/thought of this sooner , but I guess the student wasn't ready to learn yet, humph!
I’ve already got some of the negative wealth balances set up on DD or SO, so just going to sort out how to get the others onto regular payments too. I’m then fully intending to only review the balances once a month, whilst spending the rest of the time progressing ways of increasing abundance in all other areas of my life!
Thanks MG, Firewalker et al, you really are an inspiration!

Filing the most recent Bank Statement from Big Horse Bank - there is a huge rectangle on the bottom of the statement with a declaration stating that:
"The FSCS offers compensation in the event the Bank is unable to meet its financial obligations. With a Current Account Mortgage as your current account is comined with your mortgage account and these are regarded as one account, you would only be eligible for compensation up to FSCS limits if your account is in credit and deposits paid into your account exceed the outstanding balance of your mortgage. For further details and a list of questions and answers please refer to your local branch or www.cbonline.co.uk/FSCS"
So let me get this straight - if I pay off the mortgage (overdraft of £126000) and then continue to depost money into the account over £85000 I will only be covered up to £85000.:D
Bless them - but if they think I would dare risk a penny more in their accounts than I would have to they must be banking in Cloud Cuckoo land.:rotfl::rotfl:
................... but then again you will let me know when I'm reaching the £211000 limit on my Freedom Account won't you??? I wouldn't want to slip over that limit and not realise :rotfl::rotfl:.
I'm laughing, but maybe the Bank is in trouble???? Maybe they have just had all their accounts frozen and have been left standing in their offices with "71p and three nappies".
On the bright side - the post also brought a letter from them with a pre-approved credit card enclosed (5K limit) ...................
.............. does the phrase "right hand not knowing what the left is doing ring a bell for anyone":D

Okay... final check in for the day before I head for home and collapse in a great big heap!
Worked out how to calculate my working days for all my previous employments. It is a bit approximate (well, it does go back to 1999, so what can they expect?!) and with the help of a handy "days calculator" tool on the internet and a bit of sense (taking out weekends, and some days for training, annual leave and sickness) I come out with a total days figure which I then roughly apportion. Have written the logs for 3 of my former workplaces taking account of 650 working days so far. More than enough to prove my worth to my professional body, but I want to show the moderators my breadth of experience. Or erm... show off a little! :rotfl:
Have also written and printed off 3 letters to go to my previous employers asking them to sign off the days I have worked for them. Will be checking all three tomorrow before sending them all off. Need stamps and envelopes to do that!!
Have also booked three further half days on my CIPFA Portfolio.
Go me. And now... I am totally fricking exhausted. Going home to clean and tidy and feed beasts and feed myself and then sit on the sofa crocheting till bed time... or about 8.30 tonight I think!"A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort"Herm Albright 1876-19440 -
If youa re knocking off crickett - think I will too:D
Got loads done - but feeling a wee bit sore now so think I will take a walk around the block and then do my stretching excercises.
Then have a play with my list and see what else needs to be cleared before gettig my gossip in tonight.

MG Ikea may be worth investigating for your wardrobe inners, if only for ideas of what can be done.0

Firewalker wrote: »Cheri, you are terrific and wonderful. And absolutely right - people do not need to refer to their debt that way. They don't - but the interesting thing is that I never thought that the D refers to negative wealth.
FirewalkerBless, cheri, but I do think the intention is to refer to them as 'dear' whoever.
I guess it's easy to think it means 'debt' given the number of times the word is mentioned on these forums, but I've seen it used loads of times on other forums, too, so it's just interweb convention by now.
I think that counts as a DM ('Dear Me') moment!:rotfl:
:o:o So embarrased everybody and apologies for the rant. In my defence other than this forum I have never been into forums so internet speak is alien to me. However, everybody please take on board what FW says about me. And she knows because she is my self appointed guru!

I had a thought (yes, me too!) earlier on- I have a note on my "stuff to do" list that we need to re-evaluate whether there is anywhere we can trim expenditure again, and one thing I do want to do is to get a grip on grocery spending properly again. I'm considering putting together a spreadsheet with a line for everything we buy, and space to put in the cheapest place to buy it. It can be a WIP project, but I was wondering if anyone else had done anything similar, and if so, whether they found it sustainable, or just too much hassle to keep updating?
Welcome 40SM!
EH, you may be interested to have a look at a book called 'Your money or your life' by Joe Dominguez and Vicki Robin. There is a very efficient system to do this, I believe; this invoilves writing everything you buy, organising it in categories, reflecting on whether it brings you joy and working from there.

Oh cheri (((((((()))))))))
Don't be embarrassed! You were quite right to be outraged if you thought that's what everyone was referring to - good on you!
Just had a quick read back - thanks for the lovely motivation you're all giving out today. I've been in the office, had lots of meetings and very nearly burst into tears in one of them (as I did last night) - not about anything to do with work really, just feeling rather hormonal and a little overwhelmed at the minute
and I'm feeling a little like I don't know what I'm doing right now.
(I do really, I just need to remember that I'm the newest member of staff, and nobody's expecting me to have the same experience as someone who's been here for 5 years! So yes, sometimes I miss things - but that's why I work with people who've been here a long time, and not all by myself...)
So, I'm going to leave in a bit to catch the early train home, and I've got the evening to myself to have a bit of a clean up, a tasty meal, and to have a think about the futureand then I'm going to sit and knit for a while :j
