Not staying long tonight as I'm feeling sorry for myself.....
Nothing major - 121 was fine but coming home Tora the Terrible jumped up & skelped my face with her forehead & managed to split my lip........then, as she likes tissues as she can shred them, she wanted the one I was using to wipe up my blood......
Am now mumbling away as lip feels like it's way out here (holding hand out 2 feet from face)
Luckily there is some chilled white wine in the fridge to help numb the face & keep the swelling down :beer:Debts 07/12/2021

I keep an eye on my day to day finances maybe twice a week - just to check that I am not too close to £0.
With regards to the "negative wealth" - I put my monthly mortgage payment on my spreadsheet each month, and I check my calculated balance with my mortgage statement every 3 months.
Other than that - every now and then I scare myself with ideas like setting up my annual bills plan... but unless it's a key date like end of the fixed term mortgage I let things chug along by themselves.
I look at my bills about once every 6 months - i.e. gas, electricity, phone & broadband etc just to make sure I am not being screwed over. My mobile phone is a month-by-month thing, and has been £15 for about 10 years, so I am not bothered about that.
I would drive myself mad if I did anymore than that.
I prefer to concentrate on spending it rather than keeping an eye on it :-$0 -

Thanks all, I am not embarrassed about being embarrassed in this company if you "ken" what I mean (trying to be part of the scottish crowd, did it work?)
(((cheery)))Pah to hormones, nasty little blighters. If it helps I am feeling out of my depth at the mo and I have been doing my job for 2 years. Still it is the first time I have been involved in what is currently going on in work so I am trying to learn fast. I know that I have other strengths that will be invaluable to people at other times for now I am soaking up as much as I can for future reference. You will have loads to offer too when they need to know something only you will know about. Like stripey socks for example
Welcome 40SM It is a bit of a mad house here sometimes, you know the kind of house where you were growing up and all of the kids wanted to shout about something all at once, some good, some bad and everybody helping? Yes the kind of house that we never appreciated when we were in the middle of it all and I bet some of you will recognise that happening with your Darling Son's and Darling Daughters
SHOUT OUT TO FANTASIA - WHERE THE BL***Y H**L ARE YOU WHEN WE NEED SOME OF YOUR FAMOUS HAPPY QUOTES FOR CHEERY :rotfl::rotfl:Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. I think that just about sums up this thread, that sounds like a cue for a song "Our House it has a crowd. There's always something happening and it's usually quite loud"

'cept sometimes it's more like this: "I want to Break Free!"

Good evening wow, you lot can talk lol, took me ages to catch up, and I've forgotten most of what I have read.
Well met mum, went shopping had dinner in morrisons, then came back here, mum said she has a quilting pattern I can have, went to the charity shop and got some cream material, think they are handmade cot sheets.
Just finished the apron, need to iron it and wait for the batteries to charge for the camera. Although I'm not sure it is good enough to sell.Boiler pot £30.92/£10000 -
Whew  Don't know what I have been feeding that boy!!!
Just finished my monthly chat with my two mates from London - yes the Rabbi and the Priest
Trust me there is nothing "turn the other cheek" about these two, they are a couple of men, secure in their own convictions/faith who live very much in the new millenium. I used to play Poker with them both on a Thursday night - now they play with others but we still catch up once a month.
They are very good psychologists - although Rabbi R refers to it as "headology" - (he's a bit of a Terry Pratchet fan) and he loves Maureen Lipman so always wanted to "have an 'ology!!!" - does that date the three of us accurately enough? :rotfl:
So there we were gossiping away - and I'm mentioning how I'm trying to "clean" up my language in order to attract more of what I would like..... and paraphrasing slightly -
Rabbi R pipes up "It's on it's way!"
Me "??????"
RR " You want Financial Abundance, a skinny ***, a man who worships you - but of course will never be good enough for us!!! Well "It's on its way"
Me "!!!!!"
RR " It's on it's way!!! Don't you get it? It's coming, its coming but are you ready for when it gets here?"
Me " Oh!"
RR " Are you ready, if the money, the body, the guy walks through the door tomorrow are you ready?"
Me "Nope ( in a distinctly 14yr old sulky tone)
RR "That's your end of the deal - you go and get ready, when you are - well it's on it's way"
Fr V - "**** (pet name, don't ask too embarassing:o) you OK?
Me " nope, feeling stupid"
Fr V " Good you can go home now you've learned something new!! Remember the expectation you had as a kid looking forward to Christmas, planning for your birthday, counting down to the holidays?? You got ready, because it's on it's way. Think back to how excited you were - hold onto that, thats the feeling you need to have when thinking about money and men and your future. That's the feeling they are talking about when they talk about resonating your intention - You are on a countdown, because "It's on it's way"
:eek:OMG!!!!!!! You know that old chestnut about when the pupil is ready the teacher will appear??
Looking forward with excitement to a life of financial abundance as oppposed to looking backwards at a terrible financial situation.
Looking forward to meeting my perfect guy -as opposed to looking backwards at absent Dads.
The energy you hold looking at these situations the other way around is completely different ................
.............. that's what they were talking about in "The Secret" - only I couldn't feel it until now!!!!
:cool:and they expect me to be able to sleep tonight?????

Pah, I wrote a long post about your lightbulb moment with the poker friends. In short it was to thank you for the link to Our House and to say that your post re looking forward and the link together reminded me of the days when all we did was look forward with anticipation and excitement, survived on next to nothing (YTS wages) and still managed to go out socialising every night. Because having money wasnt what it was about! Life was there for the taking - oh and to oggle the boys!
MG, what would your ideal man be like? Come on lets have a good old girly "bridget jones type" description of the man of your dreamsSome days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0
