:rotfl::rotfl: You could be right :rotfl::rotfl:

Under a pound per day per person is fabulous - that would make a years food around about £1000 which is amazing.

Maybe I should just keep buying what is necessary - but aim to keep the overall spends less than a pound per day per person. After all when the garden is in production that should be easily achievable.

................. and I actually cant see a dent in my storecupboard so a few more more months of being frugal and keeping to the basics will make a huge difference.

The light is on at the end of the tunnel - its just so very far away at the moment:D So keep to the plan, keep working the plan.

I think you're too hard on yourself MG - 37 days on £91 is pretty incredible IMHO.

As you still have about 15 years worth of stores in your cupboard I don't really think you need to worry :) You can probably make that last £10 last until the end of May lol!! (No, that's not a challenge ;))

Claire: Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm to fish and chips. We like to go to the Barbican on Sunday lunchtimes to watch the boats and munch on fish and chips. The fish comes straight off the market down here, so it's ever so fresh and scrummy :) We like to sit here:

I need an envy smiley! We also top up our cholesterol levels on the last morning we visit by going to Cap'n Jasper's.
But how can you know what you want till you get what you want and you see if you like it?

Good morning Matrixites - although I am aware that some of you have been up so long it must be afternoon for you :D

Still stuggling to keep up with the thread & today won't be much use either as today has to be a Stepford Day I'm, afraid :(

I'm not a OCD house proud person but when the carpet is the same colour as the dogs then action needs to be taken - plus, if all my washing/ironing is done at the weekend then I can breeze through a whole week at work with an extra 10 minutes in bed as clothes are ready for the day.

Housework is a frog to me but the major frog for today is the filing - I cleared it out last week so that all that was left was stuff to be put away but I still haven't got round to that bit ...

But - GOOD NEWS - DH had a nasty call from a credit card person - the call wasn't nasty because of the content but because of the person (IYSWIM) so a complaint letter was duly written. Wouldn't normally do this, would normally just stew & mutter but temper got the better of us. Nice polite complaint letter was sent off & yesterday DH got a call offering him £212 in compensation :j:j:j. He did say an apology was all he wanted to begin with but thank you very much - I'll take it.

So - bolstered up by this he now wants me to put in a claim of enforced PPI we had to take out at the order of a loan company several years ago. So this now needs to be done today as well. - as with most wife/husband relationships, I write the letter, present it for him to sign and when the goodies come through it belongs to him.... hey ho

Anyhow - must go for the moment as Tora has shredded a newspaper over the living room floor and dissected a tennis ball on the bed - *** sigh ***

And I forgot to say - Bloody sin about Seve Ballesteros but with his health being the way it was it may be a blessing for him & his family.

I saw him at a golf match type thing with the Golden Bear as Ladybank of all places with my Mum many moons ago. Who cares about the golf - I just wanted to drool but he was SO pleasant.........

Same here ClootiesMum - it's a good job I'm an honest, trustworthy wifey because Mr Thrifty wouldn't have a clue if he was signing his life away :rotfl:

MG, there is no bad news in your message. You are as frugal as one can be (in fact I would advocate a bit more space particularly for some fun), rain is an act of God (nature) and good for the garden, DSs want a pj day (I love those as well but can't manage many of them).

I made a plan (a la Secret) yesterday. This time I am going to stick with metaphysics. Watching the movie last night it all made more sense than the book - and the message is 'change your thinking', avoid using the words denoting what you don't want. In your case 'play' is fine with the Universe but look at the words you are using often: challenge, mortgage...The Universe hears 'challenge' and it sends you some; it hears 'mortagage' and it keeps it as your companion. Just right a 'plan' without mentioning the word (e.g. I will own my house outright' instead of 'I will have no mortgage') and get on with life.

Sound like mysticism but as I saif before, goven that it is possible to measure thought they have energy and mass; anything that has mass has gravity - the law of attraction makes sense.

Ah Cap'n Jaspers. Mmmmmm - the Whitehouse Wonder, or the Cap'n's Breakfast. Glorious, fatty, juicy yumminess.

I forget how lucky we are to live here sometimes :D

(for the uninitiated, Cap'n Jaspers is a very naughty burger bar. Delicious :D)
