The best kind of biscuit recipe really:D Yummy - and loads to go around.

We are on the countdown to Dr Who and Pizza - its the one night where the boys leap in and out of the bathroom, get jammies on. tidy up and play nicely - all without being gently nagged:D

Wish Dr Who was on every tea-time:rotfl:

Just going to roll out the pizza dough and do the washing up before they go in the oven at 5 past 6 - and onto the table at 6.15 precisely:cool:

    Later Matrtixettes

Talking about landscapes and sunsets reminds me that that is what makes my heart sing loudest. We are near the Thames here and a walk by the water on a beautiful day lifts me higher than anything else - even my beloved music. It is the natural world that gives the most pleasure in my life - not material posessions. Luckily I learned that lesson years back.

Just now I should give anything to be able to walk by the river. My back is so painful I don't know quite what to do to cope. I can't take strong painkillers as they make me feel so ill. I take my prescription anti inflammatories but can't take anything more as I don't want to overdose. My main coping strategy is mind over matter - if I don't acknoweldge that the pain exists it doesn't exist. Trouble is it no longer seems to work. Had my nerve conductivity tests last Wednesday and I'm back to see the surgeon next Friday - 13th - so hopefully he will have something positive to suggest. Can't cope with this much longer.

Sorry about the self pitying moan.....but if anyone has any helpful suggestions?

    Sue

Sorry to hear that Sue, have a big virtual ((((((HUG)))))). Have you tried hypnotherapy to manage your pain? I used it with my IBS and it was wonderful, my friend's Mum has nerve damage in her jaw and she also sees a therapist and uses self-hypnosis too.

A wonderful weekend crowned a miserable week. Today I skived off fieldwork and went shopping with a friend and we had such a good time. I wanted to buy something I would never normally wear, and I ended up with a black jersey maxi dress with big purple, pink, green and yellow flowers on!! It is awesome :D and a lot of fun just to do buy something different. I also got some wonderful African fabric for the quilt I will learn to make.

TMIF my OH is from Plymouth, so it was lovely to see the picture you posted. It took me right back there, even though I am in Kampala, and really made me smile :)

MG you are doing fantastically well with your challenges!!

I made a plan (a la Secret) yesterday. This time I am going to stick with metaphysics. Watching the movie last night it all made more sense than the book - and the message is 'change your thinking', avoid using the words denoting what you don't want. In your case 'play' is fine with the Universe but look at the words you are using often: challenge, mortgage...The Universe hears 'challenge' and it sends you some; it hears 'mortagage' and it keeps it as your companion. Just right a 'plan' without mentioning the word (e.g. I will own my house outright' instead of 'I will have no mortgage') and get on with life.

Sound like mysticism but as I saif before, goven that it is possible to measure thought they have energy and mass; anything that has mass has gravity - the law of attraction makes sense.

That sounds like a very good plan. I read somewhere about a general use of "negative" speak, people ask how you are "not bad....." isn't terribly positive is it :rotfl: So when people ask me how I am they get an "I'm good/great/fabulous" in reply :)

Have spent the day making second skirt for DD and a quick pin cushion :) Like the second skirt even more than the first one. I shan't bore you with pics but I am very much getting into this sewing lark :rotfl:

Popped to Aldi this morning and managed to get a £11 Disney Princess duvet set for £4.99 :D Didn't even realise it was reduced as price was still showing in store as full. Still not going to argue. Managed to get a load of loveky fruit, punnet of strawberries for £1.29, 8 kiwis for 69p and for me clotted cream for some scones. OK I don't "do" healthy :o

Also being financially savvy and arranging to set up an online ISA with Nationwide as it currently pays 3.something % darn sight more than my current ISA :eek:

OK have waffled enough :o Now need to spend a bit of time being a mummy and a wife ;)

Have a fantastic evening, if anyone has any storms tonight can they send them my way as I LOVE them :D

Can anyone help me with an ebay item? I need parts for my knitting machine and I cannot get the part, so I was advised to get a second hand one3 for the parts, I have found this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230616213839&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT#ht_500wt_1156 but the buyer is not willing to post it, anyone living near who would be willing to collect it for me? I would pay petrol money and post it on to me? again I will pay postage

Evening all - just about to pop in the bath with a glass of red wine - luxury.

Sue, sorry to hear about your back pain - is there any way that you can increase your tolerance to the stronger pain-killers maybe take smaller doses more frequently. Thinking of you.

Oooh looks like we have a storm starting

Good luck, hope the seller obliges for you x

Chest is sore this morning, think the rest of the family are coming down with what DD has had since last weekend. DS coughing non stop.........

Plans for today are a bit of pottering, make some scones to go with my clotted cream ;), cheese straws for DS (who asked for them), got the chicken roasting as I type.
Will visit my mum and dad and take kids to play with cousins there too. No sewing today LOL, just dodging the rain drops inbetween pottering about :) Actually sounds like a very happy family day :D

Have a lovely positive Sunday what ever you're doing :)
