Wow Bitsey - you've been busy already.
A slower start here this morning - kids have had their much requested pancake breakfast and I am enjoying my cup of coffee (not outside because it is still wet)
One of the trees I am getting rid of this year is an old liliac - this morning when I stuck my head out of the door I wasn met with this heady, heavy waft of liliac - absolutely gorgeous. For a week every year the tree is heavy with purple blooms and the whole street smells lovely - but unfortunately, the rest of the year it puts the bit of my garden that could be in sun in shade, so it will have to have its last hurrah and then say goodbye.
Today is my "goal setting" day - looking forward over the next two years (until DS2 goes to school).
Following from FW sage advice yesterday I have revisited my goal setting - and today they will be 3P goals:
Postive
Present
Personal
She is right you know -it reslly is time I started "watching my language" - the vernacular here is littered with negatives and I need to take resposiblility for my own inner vocabulary to make it serve me better.
And Robsmum - I have been thinking about your PM non-stop, the one where you asked about how to do you start moving forward from being right in the hole, when you have your "71p and three napppies day" ..................................... the truth is, by taking very tenny tiny baby steps and celebratig each little success.
Its taken me nearly 18 months to get to the point where I can see the end of the Big Horse Bank Debt (10K paid off when I have been mostly on benefits has not been easy or without it's very difficult moments).
I'm lucky with my two boys - they are young enough that they dn't really care - as long as they have food on the table and Mum around they are happy - but it does hurt me when I can' take them out or do things with them. BUt in the future we will look back and I will be able to teach them that becasue I learned to say no, we saved our house, kept our family together and started all over again. They will have a better future because I have learned to live on what we have. At least we are in this as a family.
Mind you I would love to write a blog for you about the step-by-step method - but I wonder if it is not a "one size fits all" process.
Now time for coffee - and time for my colourig pencils

Good morning matrix
Thank you Lara and Thrifty for your kind thoughts.Sorry to hear that Sue, have a big virtual ((((((HUG)))))). Have you tried hypnotherapy to manage your pain? I used it with my IBS and it was wonderful, my friend's Mum has nerve damage in her jaw and she also sees a therapist and uses self-hypnosis too.
Thank you Lara. Hadn't thought of that one. I'll see where I get to on Friday with the surgeon and then if there is no other option explore that one. Trouble is all these things cost money and I dread to think how much I have paid out on osteopathy and remedial pilates training to date!!!! It's not cheap!!thriftyscotslass wrote: »Sue, sorry to hear about your back pain - is there any way that you can increase your tolerance to the stronger pain-killers maybe take smaller doses more frequently. Thinking of you.
I spoke to the medics about this one, Thrifty. I suggested taking one tablet 8 times a day instead of two four times. He said it wouldn't make any difference as the total concentration of the drug would be the same. Also I don't find the pain killers are effective in reducing the pain. It seems just as bad to me but if I take them I feel awful as well!!!!Memory_Girl wrote: »Today is my "goal setting" day - looking forward over the next two years (until DS2 goes to school).

Fantastic - you sound a lot more positive this morning.
It's easy to slip back into using the negative language. I've been doing it myself a lot lately. Seems to go with attacks of the blues. I guess that's partly why it's so difficult to pull oneself back up again.
Was the bit in blue really meant to say 'it would make my heart sing to be able to take them out and do things with them'?
Sorry - shouldn't really criticise someone else's choice of words.....
The idea of the blog sounds fantastic. I'm sure that there may be parts of your journey that only work for you but, equally, there are other parts that could be really useful. It would be a matter of each reader taking what is appropriate for them.
Please, please, please it would help me if my slips into negativity could be brought to my notice. I need a kick up the unmentionables occasionally!!

Am currently catching up on last night's missed episodes of Spiral on BBC4.
Rolled into bed at 5am this morning after attending a monster gig last night, and then the afterwards.
This is only made better by the fact I'm eating sticky toffee cake (didn't know it existed) at the same time. Please call me 'Pickle'

I think the weather gods must be trying to make up for April!
Just worked out how much I spent in the last two days to attend a two hour tutorial:eek:
However it was really good - enthusing and energising - plus a couple of chats with other students - (including a gorgeous young man from Athens - he was visiting friends in the area as well)
BUT - it will only have been worth it if I can keep up the momentum now I am back home.
Probably another one who needs to work on 'positive vocabulary'
MG - AFAIK most people on any benefits struggle to make minimum payments as well as surviving - so what you have achieved is really impressive.
clairewop - hope you sort out getting the machine and getting the boiler installed
susan - wish I could offer more than a gentle hug and the hope that you will be able to walk by the river soon
crickett - positive, energising vibes for getting the portfolio done and submitted - it will feel so good when you finish0 -
HEHE I got the machine
just need to put money in the bank in the morning to pay for it and arrange a courier, so I have a machine table ribber and knitter for less than the part costs to buy, plus other spare parts, just need to keep fingers crossed the part I need is ok on this machine. Or it will be going back onto ebay as spares and repairs.

Hi everyone
Bright and breezy here now, although it was raining this morning.
That's good news Clairehope the spares are all ok.
Have felt the need to move my May goals into my signature so that I'm reminded of them each time I log on. Sales are finally off the mark with a small order placed last night
.
Need to have a look at the ebay listings OH has prepared ready for uploading tonight. I'm sure they'll be ok, but he wants them checked. They're all pretty much low value items, but every penny counts!
