Fingers crossed for you Souk! :T :T

((((susan))))))) hope the consultant can come up with something useful for you xx

MG, good on you for all that planning! What have you got in your 24 boxes? Are they goals, or things to tick off as you pay into your freedom fund? :D

Just been out for a run, must remember to start work now! :D

Susan I have the same trouble as you when my back plays up it travels down my left leg, and my hip doesn't half give me pain, I have steroid injections every six months which do help me.

Fingers crossed you get a good result from the consultant on Friday.

Souk will send positive vibes at 1 for you, good luck.

Well just tidied upstairs, so the boiler people can do quotes

1st load of the day in the machine, I now have bedding to wash too :(

Just need to empty the dishwasher and sweep kitchen floor and I'm done :) up the stairs could do with a hoover, but I'm not chancing doing that, I have enough trouble with balance going up and down the stairs without trying to balance the hoover as well.

The 24 boxes are 1 for each month for the next two years IYSWIM. Each box has either a deadline - or workingback from that milestones that I need to meet in order to get me to my goal.

I have decided that what is going to work best for us as a family is to create multiple ways of earning money - and to do things that have a short "Life expectancy" IYSWIM?

This is rather than run a business with one product that leaves me at the mercy of the economy/ fashion / the weather

So I am looking to create 25 ways to earn £5000 over three years.

So 25 ways to earn £1666 per year

So 25 ways to earn £138 per month

So 25 ways to earn £32 per week.

£32 per week is much less scary to think about - than for instance £125500 to pay off the mortgage.

So looking at the core business, I could for example:

    1. I could sell 2 of my books per week
    2. I could tutor for 1 hour and 15 minutes at £25 per hour
    3. I could train 62 people in training days over three years
    4. I could do a 121 professional training day (this would cover 47 weeks worth of payments)
5 I could do a short presentation for the local Uni (this would cover 15 weeks of payments)
6 I could do a car boot sale
7 I could sell on Ebay
8 I could train online using Skype
    9 I could run a teleconference
10 I could film all 4 subjects and sell the CDs/ downloadables
11 I could sell the "30 Days Study Skills" ebook
    12 I could write more e-books:D
13 I could appear on TV
14 I could set up an online radio station

I'm not saying that I WILL do all of these things- but I COULD do any of these things

Not all of the ideas will generate £5K over the three years - but some will, and some will earn much more (Pareto's principle).

But it means that I can juggle as many / as few as I can do in any particular week according to what I need to be doing with the boys.

If that doesn't sound like the ramblings of a madwoman:rotfl:

Doesn't indeed sound like ramblings of a madwoman, sounds like an incredibly sane and well thought out plan! :T :T

When you break it down into small chunks it looks so achievable! I am trying to do something similar, in that I would like to find other ways of creating income, which would allow me more time to do the things I want, and looking forward, have more time to spend caring for my MIL/SFIL/GS as and when they need me.
You seem to have a lot of options open to you - it will be interesting to see your progress, I am sure with your 'can do' attitude and positive outlook, you will achieve this and much, much more.

Working fine for me too over the other side.

Well another load on the line another load in the machine, dishwasher empties, kitchen floor swept, that's me done for the day now, my arm seems to be giving me jip today, I call it bone ache cause the bone has started to ache IYSWIM, I get it every so often, usually more so in the winter though.
