We are coming up with a plan then
30 days decluttering challenge for August
then
30 days Money Detox for September
Sugah sent me a pressie today - a bottle of perfume:D
Turns out its sold by LIDL for £4 and its been beating the pants off the big perfumes in "blind tastings" is what I want to say - so whatever the equivalent is for smells. It's called "Suddenly" - and after an hour on its smelling pretty darn good - and for the price it smells pretty darn fabulous :rotfl::rotfl:
Off to feed the screaming hoardes - well the littlie has just announced he is hungry so we are not quite at the danger level just yet.

Good on Buffy, she obviously does work well under pressure. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0

Good point, Buffy is very quiet - maybe she has her head down and working away. She posted on FB that she is on her way to hand it in - Go Buffy!Memory_Girl wrote: »We

Thanks ladies!
I handed it in with 15 minutes to spare. can't quite believe it and think maybe bits were wrong/not detailed enough but hey it is enough for me that i had a go, I have in recent years been bottling things like essays!(OU anyone!)
am knackered.

Hope the dreaded essay got done.Good on Buffy, she obviously does work well under pressure.
I don't think I do! I got to the ttrain station and realised I had forgotten my id to get to Uni. had to get my long suffering Mum to whoosh down to the station with it!
Horrible horrible panicky 40 minutes whilst on train which stopped and started.
it did make me wonder why I put myself thorugh it!!
thank you so much for the comments tho very lovely they all are xxxxxNevertheless she persisted.0 -
I am very proud of myself. I have completed my CV, spent hours on my Linkedin profile (although still not happy with it I have drawn a line under it and moved on), and ...... wait for it......... I applied for the job in Austria  I dont even expect to get an interview as I have no experience in that particular industry, however I have pointed out in the covering letter all of the relevant skills that match, word for word, the job description and told them I am willing to learn. So it has gone and now I will forget about it. I think that, at the very least, my name will be on their books should anything suitable come along in the future.
:jcheri. I haven't finished my CV and covering letter yet. Closing date is tomorrow.
Going to say that due to some pretty hard cutting back over the past 9 months I have got my debt down from 3 credit cards to 2, achieved over 42% of it paid off and because I applied the law of a payment a day for a few months I have sneakily managed to knock a month off my debt free date. How happy am I? Almost half way through and absolutely buzzing to get through the other end. Baby steps and all.
:TWillow - try to start seeing the reasons why you could do the jobs. Apply for them anyway, as you need practice with applications and interviews, and you can get feedback if you are unsuccessful. If you don't apply, you definitely won't get the job!
I think my procrastination comes from both perfectionism and also I don't really want a job long term. However I do know that it will be good for me in the short term, it's the right number of hours in the right location and is a temporary contract so not committing me for a long time. So, I will be confirming to you all later on that I have done it and emailed it off!
Please count me in for August decluttering and September money detox.
Buffy, yay to getting essay in with 15 mins to spare.
PS In my excitement of carrying out displacement activity, I have managed to put the wrong load of washing on! I meant to do the towels tonight as they can go in the dryer, but muppet me has gone and put on a load which can't be tumbled. Doh!Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅0 -
Good evening Matrix! Feel better than I did this morning. Have managed to do lots of jobs, although hubby is still acting like like he has PMT. Oh, and he is a hoover as well, apparently. I swear he has not had an empty hand all day. He is eating me out of house and home!!
Tomorrow we are going to town, buying some dull necessities, and then I am going to my counselling appointment. After that, we are going to go out to Ikea and have a tramp around there for a bit, and then come home again. I feel like I am going to be going back to work for a rest!!"A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort"Herm Albright 1876-19440 -
Cheery : Loads of calming vibes coming your way. My DH would have done exactly the same. He is going home tomorrow for a few days to clean his fish tank (a friend feeds the little darlings), do some research for a book he is writing, and sort the business bits. That means he will gather up all the post and bring it back for me to deal with!
Re prescriptions, the major supermarkets and chain pharmacies will deal with collecting prescriptions for you. You need to find out which pharmacies your surgery deals with. I have a repeat prescription and all I do is go into Mr A when it is due and they produce it already bagged up. Some surgeries have a pharmacy 'in house' and I've been wondering about changing to a new one which is nearer and has one. But . . . better the devil I know?
Buffy : Well done, you :T:T Isn't it weird how different we all are. I get up tight if I think I will be late for anything - my mother regarded being late as a mortal sin and I still can't shake that off! All my assignments and essays were in way ahead of the due date but I still sweated over them.
MG : The perfume sounds great. Aldi has some cosmetics that are highly recommended as well. I like the :money: but still getting what you want. The challenges sound good. We need input on how to declutter with packrat families. :rotfl:
Also, it was our turn for glorious weather today. We made the most of it and found Anna Sewell's gravestone and also the house where she wrote Black Beauty. Then we went on to Horsey and visited the wind pump, Staithe and Mere. Returned to a SC pork casserole which we will eat while watching Rick Stein in Barcelona - can life get any better? (that was a rhetorical question)
Everyone I've missed, sorry but Rick and supper call - LOUDLY.But how can you know what you want till you get what you want and you see if you like it?0 -

Perfume still smells lush - but I am off to be inspired by Rick Stein too - cue lots of Spanish inspired diet dishes in the near future.
I have given my Mum across the first three weeks of my "food plan" with recipes for her to read - her biggest comment "do you not use any convenience foods?" - she is right, three weeks in and the most processed food I have eaten is cheese (quark and feta). Apparently I am writing a "real Food" cookbook - nice to know.

nice to know indeed MG! :T
Thanks folksI'm much less wound up now - in reality it's not actually much of a crisis, I hadn't started taking the tablets yet so it's not like I'm having a break in the middle. Will investigate the sending straight to the pharmacy option. Usually it's not a problem as I work at home 3 days a week and can just pop down (and the docs is only round the corner), I just happened to be away 4 days this week. And there's 4 chemists in walking distance here, so if one of them doesn't have it, another one will (and I will be persistent!)
Anyway, all cheery now I'm home and fed and watered :T :T :T Thanks for helping me be a bit calmer this afternoon!
Glad the essay got handed in! :T :T :T0
