Ha, I saw this on the news. I do use the joke of '42' but will have to switch to 72. Interestingly, it sound good but is technically only approximately correct.

Today is a good way to rememeber this answer. 'Where would I like to be in twelve months?'...and the answer is '72'. So start looking at the 72 country on the alphabetical list; 72 street and number 72 - what do you think I will end up with?

Just to let you know that the 72nd country on the alphabetical list of countries is Estonia. Unfortunately it is so small I doubt that there are 72 cities in it.

72 in the phonic alphabet is the word CaN - there that is nice, proactive and positive.

I'm working at my Mums this morning - and have actually written up ten articles for the blog so far. The boys have gone to the aquarium and I am dog sitting.

I have a goal for another five articles and then I am going to do some business plan work for a joint project I am starting. Wish me luck it has been a while.

I have reviewed a truly atrocious presentation and not done much else... it took more than its fair share of time.

Still waiting for a GP to call... then I need to get dressed and so something about the state of the house before I attempt to do any more work.

It's nearly hometime for me... and I am sure the clock is going backwards. I am beginning to feel a little better. I have got quite a bit of work done today, and have even started on doing some of the year end stuff so that it isn't a horrible shock to the system when I get back from holidays.

One thing that did get on my wick a little bit was that my boss wanted me to re-do some of the budget pack I put together for my school. She didn't tell me how to do the changes she wanted me to make, just that i had to make them. So, you know what? I did some research, completed the task and then sent the packs off. I didn't ask, I just got on with it. So there!! I am now working out the best way of working out the accruals for year end.

My fellow accountants; I need to ask you... if you could get a report which tells you which orders have been GRN'd that is great list to work from to get your year end accruals isn't it? We have to accrue for the things which have arrived, but have not been paid for yet. Surely that is the best way to deal with it? I am only asking because LadyJ is causing trouble and making insinuations that I have got it wrong and I am beginning to doubt myself. :( Luckily, she disappears for a year in 19 days. Not that I am counting!)

    Afternoon all

Halo shining, been at my mother's all day sorting her finances, of course it isn't all done as there was so much chat she needed to do about other things but I kept good humour. I'll get on with some of it now I'm home.

Loved the thing about 72 but it reminded me of an 'act' I saw once at a holiday camp about a pack of cards representing the bible or the calendar - funny how my mind works.

Time for a cuppa, to decide on dinner and see if I can get a bit of the paperwork done.

Hmmm, our system auto-accrues for GRN'd orders (with proper PO's).

I expect to spend next week chasing people to GRN their orders - not that I want to suggest anyone cheats the system of course.

We only do manual accruals for non-PO'd stuff. This basically involves guessing what people have ordered wihout POs and bunging in something to cover it.

    I HATE YEAR END!

I can report however that I have done all my correction journals (i.e. non Year End stuff).

So "just" [STRIKE]bodging [/STRIKE]adjusting left to do.

Enjoy your holibobs Crickett. What are your plans?

Hello everybody. Well after several hard weeks/months I have just finished work for 2 whole weeks (and a day - not forgetting the day). Tomorrow I am off to a 'speed awareness course":o Would you believe that I have been driving for over 20 years and never had a speeding ticket. I was in a works hire car in Cardiff last month and got a speeding ticket for doing 34 in a 30 zone. The spot I was caught on camera was immediately after coming off a 50 zone on a flyover. I am so  about it. It has cost me £85 to do the course but there will be no fine and no points on my licence. Lovely way to start my jollies.

And so 2 whole weeks of no work. I have nothing planned so I may well be going potty by the end of it. Mr C is not taking time off as he doesnt get paid when off work. I might well take myself off on some photography safaris.

Sorry for not responding to everybody but there is just too much to catch up on. Hope that all is ok with everybody
