Ooh goody... Are you coming to visit me? I'm back on bed rest and could do with some entertainment. I have cake :D

Sweetie... I am having enough problems getting directions to our first destination! Google Maps ahoy... and besides, if you are on bedrest, you can do without two maurading strangers careering through your house. Thank you for the offer though darling, very kind of you. Next time, perhaps? We are often down your way, what with my parents and my sister living Dahn Saff! :rotfl:

Well Matrix, I am totally demob happy this morning. I have lots and lots to do, but I have a case of the CBA's. Most of what I want to get done can wait till I get back from leave... so I am not too concerned.

I have decided I am going to have a little chat with my boss about the year end accruals because they are worrying me. I want to make sure I get all of them and that I do it right. Hopefully she will have some time to see me this morning.

Just having a cup of earl grey, which is totally hitting the spot! I love it when a cup of tea does that!! :D

If I don't get back today to post, lots of love and positive thoughts to you all. See you when we get back on Thursday! :D:j:j:beer:

Wooo hooo! Its my holidays!! :rotfl:

Can't get on either now - will try later cos I know MrF was being busy.

Boys have elected to have a "quiet day" at home today -so I am clearing the decks of old notes and scribbles that I have been gathering whilst writing the script.

BTW I have rattled through the first draft - and probably have one more hour or so before it is winging its way to LA to be looked at by a pro before being sent on on Monday. I never would have thought I could have written so much and so quickly - it just flew off my fingers.

So time to say "Let Go, Let God" and leave the script in the hands of the Universe. Now to move my focus around to making more money to even out our cash flow.

So first clear the desk - then choose the next project. In between times I am packing up my bedroom as I have decided that in order to get the rooms ready for letting I need to move upstairs even if we are not ready. It's more important that the rooms are painted and set up then let than it is that the rooms upstairs are made. We can always camp out for a while.

    Off to get busy

Looking forward to 20% price hikes in fuel this winter.

Do you think it would be worth looking for a decent sized chest freezer on Freegle and starting the stock-up now of soups, curries chillis n stuff . I am thinking cooking a pressure cooker sized batch and freeze the surplus so that some meals in the winter can be already paid for?

I'm thinking that our fuel bills will be higher if we have lodgers so looking to smooth out the cashflow curve.

Are you on a fixed rate/capped energy deal. I think you can still buy them with caps lower than the projected hikes. They are for 2 years as well, so any price rises won't bother you for 2 years (Over the level you cap at, or fix at).

The best fixed I have been offered is 45% more than I am currently paying - will try again after I have had a couple of bills through after having moved suppliers just recently.

Did pick up some spare curtains from Mums yesterday to use as linings in one of the letting rooms to make them warmer.

How close are you to getting your tennants in?

I really think that electric, gas and water should be priced centrally. (Those in cheap water areas will disagree I am sure!!) It's not right that people should be dragged further in to poverty/debt/struggling to make the money stretch because a company decides it wants more profit. Oh I sound a bit like a fluffy leftie this morning - sorry. I'll have a cuppa, that'll sort me out.

Mmmm fluffy curtains - reminds me of mum's house. She's obsessed with velvet curtains.

Given that food is still increasing in price faster than the overall rate of inflation and that increased energy costs are part of that rise, I don't think you can lose. The freezer is a one off cost and should have a reasonable life. If you concentrate on foods in season and/or reduced, it should work out much like the storecupboard.

There is also the advantage of time saving. Your 'patchwork' income streams will depend on seizing opportunities quickly and having the reserve meals means you can do that without distraction.

What I always enjoy is the lack of washing up after a precooked meal
 These TV chefs may use every pot in the kitchen but they have minions to wash up for them!

BTW, Tesco do ziplock bags, like the American ones and you can get far more in a freezer using them that rigid containers. My American daughter in law thought I was mad to be washing them up and re-using, then they hit a skint patch and she became very MSE.
But how can you know what you want till you get what you want and you see if you like it?

Correction - 'to increase the inflow'. Also, stocking up to offset the increase in energy price may sound like a good idea (and generate a sense of security) but...This may be the signal to the Universe that you are staying at current level of income. You should aim to at increase your income at least four times before the time for paying the increased bills comes. And exponentially there after!

I know it is scary - I feel very similar albeit on a slightly different scale. But there should come a point in our lives when we don't see our future in the light of today but organise today to get us to our future. Otherwise there is no room left for growth, development and pattern and routine disruptive change.

PS: Also, no displacement activities, remember. The time is now!

LOL - script has gone. I feel strangely bereft - what is that all about??

Freegle request for freezer made - it is only going to happen if I get a free freezer.

Now - A quick tidy up and then I have a call happening at 10.15 - later peeps
