  • I really need to be better.... grrr!

I need to rush to work to do Year End. My boss has just phoned to ask if I can do stuff in bed. Blimming cheek! I am poorly. I guess I'll have to do it though, because no one else can.

Day 5 - 4 a day. No better. Still painful. Still peeing every 10 minutes. Even at night! Tired. Fed up. Bah.

    Grrrr!

Hope everyone else is having a better week than me! Crickett, when you've got ten minutes, can you do my year end too please!!!

Good grief TMIF!  I am shocked on your behalf! How DARE your boss ring and ask if you can do stuff in bed!

What would happen if you said no? Perhaps then they'd realise they needed some kind of contingency plan and not to have the entire business rely on one person being available at a moment's notice, regardless of what was going on.

Gosh that makes me cross on your behalf!

(I hope when you've done it you'll have a conversation with them and tell them they need a contingency because that is just NOT APPROPRIATE!) - also what happens re insurance when you're in work but also signed off sick?!

    Grrrr

(just popped in to say I've tackled the giant pesky dragon I've been squabbling with since Thursday :T :T but now all cross rather than celebratory :rotfl:)
  • Not good eh Cheery! All I am going to do is check through my emails to make sure I have done all my pre-year-end adjustments. Claire (my lovely helpful morning lady) can process them for me if I send her a list. First though, I must nap. I need to sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep!

It's just a busy time of the year - this time last year mum had her stroke, so I do know how to time things don't I!!

I have peeled my lazy butt out of bed now... so I am typing from the sofa today :D

Now I've had a shower etc I do feel a bit more human. Just rang the Dr to see how quickly the pills work, and he said 4-6 days. So, let's hope it sorts out soon. I wish the stamping in the bottom of my back would stop - ah Kidneys, love them!
  • (((tmif))) What is the worse that would happen if you said no to your boss - you are ill my sweet and need to get better. Do you have an occ. health dept that can fight your corner for you.

Dustykitten hope all goes well with oh's visit to eye hospital.

I'm with Cheery and the one thing at a time in 15 minute chunks. It's sanding shelves day here - the alternatives of buying new shelves, paying someone else to do the work or doing without are not options so, best get to it. A glorious mess, here I come :D.

    Good wishes to all, Thriftyxxx

15 minute bursts for me too.

I didn't list anything on e-bay, even though it was free listing, even though I'd charged up Dad's camera which I'd especially borrowed

I hate it that I lack the motivation to do the simplest of things. (though I do hate e-baying :o) But why did I clean out my kitchen cupboards this weekend instead of clearing the loft?

because the thing you're meant to be doing is always far less interesting than something else Olive! :p

Onto next dragon now - another round of scary phone calls (or rather tediously dull phone calls!). Hopefully won't take long...

Hugs TMIF and definitely grr to your boss. When you're feeling better definitely time to think about training someone as back-up if possible!

Back at work today after another long weekend - this will be my first full week for a few weeks :( Feeling generally rubbish and unsure about lots of things - have seen a great job to apply for but something is holding me back (even though I have the application form ready to go) and I seem to be beating myself up with lots of "if onlys" about the past. Need to settle down to writing an essay tonight as well, when what I really feel like doing is sleeping.

Oh and the cup of tea I just made tastes of washing up liquid -grr!

  • Send the form Red :D
  • Go on Red, you never know until you try - you can always withdraw your application if you find out the job's not for you.

Thrifty reporting in covered in yellow, blue and brown dust . I tell you, sanding is like child-birth - you swear you are never, ever going to do it again and then you forget what it's like.

:rotfl: thrifty! :rotfl: Sorry, don't mean to laugh at you :p

Squizz <glares sternly> Get that form in woman! What's the worst that can happen?! You can end up with a shiny new job that's half the hours of your existing one leaving you plenty of time to do other cheery things - that's what!

Second dragon of the day dealt with :p Informal meeting with boss at 1pm - don't think we've got anything much to discuss so I'll save lunch for after it - might regret that though! :D
