Nice day today - class doing mini enterprise making all different things to sell for charity so I have mainly been going round giving them a bit of a hand. Did go to Mr T's to ask if we could have any of their empty display pringle tubes (they have about 1000 on display) as one group are making pringle tube pencil cases but apparently they have to keep them all in case Mr Pringle turns up and asks where they all are!!!!!!! What a miserable bunch of  The tubes are even double stacked and when I mentioned this they said this is in case any go missing!!!!!
So have now got a carrier bag full of bagged up bought pringles and am bringing one bag home a day or my two would be eating them till they exploded.
Dd has made 'chucka' for tea - rice, bacon, onion, mushrooms with some cheese and chive dip stirred in that needed eating up, was extremely yummy and now we are making rhubarb crumble.Mortgage £119,533 going down slowly

Evenin' all. Good luck to all those off to SW (shuts eyes and sticks fingers in ears, la la la :rotfl:) and positive vibes for tomorrow at hospital Cheery.
Well the grand total was 6 large shelves and 12 brackets all sanded - wot an 'orrible, 'orrible mess , all cleaned up now :A. Have decided that I am a glutton for punishment as I am going to sand my new craft table and chair tomorrow.
I have just mind-mapped 6 projects (all diy) for the 6-week summer holiday - should be doable, we'll see how it goes.
MG - hope ds2 drifts off into a lovely sleep and that meltdown has been averted.0 -
Gosh, well sanded thrifty! :T :T
Dora - hope you bought those pringles from somewhere other than Mr T! Miserable gits.
1lb off for me - so 6.5 in total :T Mind you, that's taken me 8 weeks - I've been after my half stone sparkly sticker for WEEKS - getting there, but so slowly! Next week....0 -

He climbed onto the sofa with me whilst I was having a cup of tea and fell asleep between one breath and the next - just lifted him up an popped him into bed. He didn't even stir.
Off to spend some time playing Scrabble with the big one

Was on my lunch so ran out of time and had to get them there but am not going there again - have been mostly avoiding them recently since it became apparent that they want to rule the world - we have 7 and soon to be 8 within 30 mins of us, plus a lot of their workers are on short shifts so they can fiddle paying their NI, plus a load of their products have shrunk in recent months! And they are the most expensive round here so they can er..... take a running jump! They also have some of the most misleading shelf labels around and I have complained a lot that they can't actually do maths - today I bought a pack of 25 cards for £2 for kids to turn into photo frames but there were only 10 in the pack, went and told them while pringle hunting and customer service lady said the label on shelf was for some other cards that weren't there (but made by the same company and no label for the 10 cards I had got so how was I to know?!) Couldn't retrun them as they had been decorated by the class. Sorry ranting now but they are so money grabbing and then pretend to be so charitable and friendly in all their ads it makes me really grrrr

Evening all
Struggling a bit to get to know who is who on here so apologies for not replying to posts in total but
MG glad you had a good day out with your boys and granny
Dora - Tesco have bought a huge piece of land here which is not designated for retail and are trying to put a massive superstore on it with the bribe of a public pool. They have a huge store 2 miles away and if they build and open the pool the one in the next town (which is much more deprived than our time) is likely to close plus the local sports park which is a non profit organisation will be at risk as they have a gym which subsidised the rest of the park but if the swimming pool has a gym which is less than a mile away they could loose business too
Really feel that I am starting to get to grips with this. Doing well with my frogs, feel less pressurized and am starting to think about tackling the big jobs and pondering my future. Thanks to all for the inspiration of this thread; I can see me being here for sometime. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
I read somewhere that 30-40p in every £1 spent in the UK is in Tesco. Might be a slight misquote - but whatever the actual figure, it's huge.
I like local shops - but we don't have any any more - just whacking great Tesco's, Sainsburys and Morrisons.0 -
I don't buy much in tesco, I'd rather shop in ASDA or MorrisonsBoiler pot £30.92/£10000

and I am lucky enough not to have a tesco within 30 miles of meSome days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0

We have a MrT here -but its one of the mid sized ones so no clothing and stuff, just food. So now in the town you can't buy any socks, pants etc for the kids (RIP Woolies)
It's the only place you get petrol ................... but I do make sure I can do almost all my shopping in LIDL.
From memory the only thing I used to buy regularly was DS1's favourite Dairylea - he is now converted to LIDL version.
Mr T's is out of my sphere now that the stuff I buy for my store cupboard is added to a list and got from the big one in Dundee when I go up to the cash n carry and Chinese Supermarket.
Yet I used to use Mr T's every week - funny how it changes
