Yummmm Merrydown cider - now there's some happy hazy memories floating back!

Have definitely had a day of R & R, ds is still in pjs and dd is barely dressed. They have lounged, made dens, only had one serious bust up and are now watching nemo with popcorn. Dh has done essential housework and I have been round to a friends for her 40th and her sons 18th - went to TKMaxx and got her some gorgeous Emma Bridgewater stationery and got him a tube of real jellybeans.

This evenings plan is a seriously big bath, in my seriously big bath, with some seriously big bubbly stuff and a good book (with the door locked to keep out small peeps) I can get up tomorrow and work on school stuff and can focus on it all week but decision has been made that Sundays are now mine and not schools :T Can't tell you how momentous this decision is.

I currently have 15 sq cm white "wobbly" tiles - wouldn't recommend them though, they're a PITA to keep clean - with random blue mosaic squares splattered about. (http://www.toppstiles.co.uk/tprod8781/section0/Dark-Blue-Mix-Gloss-Mosaics.html) Looks nice. I will take photos when i can find the usb lead for my camera. I got them at Topps Tiles. I currently have grey lino type stuff, but that was only £10 and done on the super cheap to be honest.

These tiny mosaic tiles can be cut to match whatever size tile you choose: http://www.toppstiles.co.uk/section135/page1/glass-tiles/

I am going for really big tiles this time (30cm x 30cm?). Black on the floor, probably white "mottled" on the walls. Saw them at Homebase.

I like your cabinet. I might steal it - like the idea of the built in light and socket. Didn't read that in your first post - much touch up my speed reading skills lol. I am getting slack :)

My electrician suggesting getting a cabinet with the light and socket built in. At the moment I have no cabinet, no light above the mirror and no socket, so it will make a difference!

I've found some tiles that might be ok at b&q - and also some at http://www.wallsandfloors.co.uk/ but their showroom is in Kettering and I'm not sure i should buy tiles without seeing them as you never know what colours seen on the internet will be like in real life.

Would a black or black and White floor be ok with White and blue on the walls?

Once the bathroom is done I need to finish the utility room, sort out the garden, have most of the ceilings skimmed, put new flooring and skirting boards down in the sitting room and replace ALL the floorboards upstairs as well as redecorating throughout. But I have most of the money saved, as long as I remember not to spend it all on shoes instead :o

What are you having done (and how much is it approx - if you don't mind me asking)

I've had 3 quotes, all for £4000 - to swap loo and sink, replumb the whole lot because it's a mess apparently, fit a shower, then either swap baths or fit shower enclosure, remove old tiles, replaster muck underneath if required and retile. (Parts are from mixture of Bathstore and B&Q) Quote for supply, fit, test, and 2 yr guarantee on work)

Excuse me jumping in from my lurking position....Having just done our wet room the company in Kettering were very good and we got ours from them. We used Miller for our fittings and although expensive were far superior as regards quality. I guess it's what you want though as our home is now our forever home and we wont move unless disaster strikes.

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

I would defnitely be there MG - and so would lots of my friends. Have also informed dh of my decision and as an ex teacher he is 150% behind me and will help me should he see me slipping into bad old ways.

I felt a bit daft advocating a "day off" on the blog - but the reality is I have so much more energy and am much more productive if I take one day off to recharge my batteries.#

Needless to say "The Priest" and "The Rabbi" are probably chuckling away saying "we've been telling you this for years woman!!!"
