Good morning
A very lazy start to the day for me, didn't get up very early, mind you never went to bed early either, was at ds2's school till 12.30 this morning seeing him off, he's gone to france.Boiler pot £30.92/£10000 -
Trying to sort out the stuff I need for the bathroom, but really don't want to trail round the shops. I need a bathroom cabinet no more than 40cm wide with a mirrored door, light and shaver socket, and illuminated extendable makeup/shaving mirror and to decide on tiles.
My bathroom is tiny, and my house is 1950s ex-council so I need something fairly understated. I was thinking plain White tiles with either some plain blue half width halfway up the wall, or some kind of feature tile in blue that can be positioned randomly...
Feeling grotty thanks to the pills and very unmotivated. A friend is coming over for lunch, which is good as it means I have to make something healthy!
Made a coconut and cranberry cake for tea yesterday (using up desiccated coconut, coconut cream, cranberry sauce and creamed coconut that have all been hanging around for ages. Managed to send half the leftover cake off with my brother and the other half with my dad.
My dad dropped off a 6 foot garden bench which came from our old holiday cottage to go with the table and 5 foot bench I brought home last year, and also helped me sort out the pulley system at I use to keep my kayak in the shed roof and put decent ties on the old sail I use as a patio awning. Now I just need someone to do the cleaning, write my presentations and sort the bathroom out for me!
Dusty - I'll let you know if I'm passing. Possibly in august for my mother's birthday, and it would be great to catch up.0 -

I've been trying online, but you know how it is when you have q specific thing in mind... It turns out not to exist
On the positive side, I picked the sweet peas yesterday and the house smells fabulous. It's hard work keeping up with them, but I'm trying to make them last as long as possible.0 -

You can tell that I am looking at bathroom stuff too can't you...! I can't decide whether to ditch my bath for a massive (1700 x 800) shower enclosure! Ideas please x0 -
Sweet peas, oooh I love those, I need to grow some next year.
Having a very slobby day here today - have put a couple of wash loads in and apart from feeding the troops, THAT IS IT as my contribution to chores goes. Spent all yesterday stripping paint off shelves to the point of weeping & cursing in frustration so the sanding can wait until I am rested - don't think I would handle the resultant mess very positively in my current frame of mind.
Erm where did winter appear from - does our weather not know that it is mid-July  and that I have a garage wall to paint.
Right ho, I'm going for a nose round Ravelry.0 -
Just popping in whilst waiting for the coffee to brew - you all make me hoot with your stories of when "we were the "us" instead of a "them" - and I won't call it misspent youth.:rotfl:
Despite having a Rest and Relaxation day its been fairly productive - great writing session this morning.
My bedroom has had a visit from the cleaning fairy (15 minutes I swear but it looks lovely).
My hair has had a dye whipped through it - so I feel miles better - and DS2 got his new batch of much requested "blue play-dough".
DS1 as even made ciabatta bread today so the house smells gorgeous.
Off to Dynamic Earth tomorrow with the boys so must think about what I have got in for packed lunches at some point I suppose.
Coffee is brewed so I am of to take the pot into the garden and enjoy the sun whilst Mind Mapping some more articles.

Oooo I love Le Tour de France
Found this one http://www.illuminated-mirrors.co.uk/bathroom-cabinet-mirrors1/nova-cabinet which has a light and a shaver socket inside so I can charge my toothbrush.
I'd keep your bath and if you have space get a shower bath with a wide end. I like baths too much to give mine up! Bath, book and maybe a glass of wine and I'm happy
I don't suppose you've come across any tiles in colours other than grey or beige have you? I need floor tiles that will go with wall tiles, and had thought I'd go with white wall tiles with a couple of rows of blue half tiles at one third and two thirds up the wall (I can't afford the tiles I really like, and also don't want the 10cm x 10cm ones which I think will make the room look too small). But I can't find much in blue, and certainly can't find any floor tiles to go with them.
What's wrong with wanting colour in your house? Why do I have to want beige or monochrome? I'd like to be able to express my personality, not live in an interiors magazine or a molton brown ad...0
