Do DS1 & DS2 like dogs MG?
Well they get on OK with their Grandad's mad "Collie Dug"
DS1 is 11 in three weeks BTW (Sorry forgot who asked and I am typing this one-handed as I am eating barely and roast veggie salad with the other), but he loves his golf with Grandad he's just not so in love with it that he wants to spend the morning in the torrential rain IYSWIM.

The rain has finally stopped here for a bit - now I've finished all the runs I need to do today. Actually I may need to go out and get some pizza as DS1 has asked for a friend to stay over. It is his friend's birthday and they are going to the golf at crack of dawn tomorrow - I'll make a cake in a bit for later.
Need to taxi DS2 and a friend to the cinema tomorrow; the one in our town only shows films when they are at least 8 weeks old and they want to see HP now! I don't mind, he is not a demanding child, may ring my mother who lives in that town and pop in there with DS3 for a couple of hours to save the petrol back and forth.
So with a potential chunk of time out of tomorrow I need to crack on with bedroom cleaning and sorting now. I have 2 large chests of clothes down from the loft to see if there is anything in them suitable for DS2 or 3 now.The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
What age should I be able to expect DD (almost 7 years old) to show initiative in brushing teeth and hair and getting ready for school without constant nagging from me? I remember at that age doing all that and making sure I had things I needed for school myself. What about making a series of pictures of things she need to do in the morning and then she can give herself a tick every time she has done them?
Also I and DD share the interest in biology and animals, are there any online or other kind of resources I could use to teach her? I am not a playing mum and that would be nice thing to do togehter. Also I would like to do some maths with her so any ideas for resources gratefully received.
Still struggling with the hair, face, teeth issues every morning in our house although dd (9) is getting better since I got her a lovely toiletry bag of her own and she has a bathroom time slot in the morning.
As far as online stuff try www.coxhoe.durham.sch.uk as it is a hub for loads of other educational sites, www.topmarks.co.uk and you can also google crickweb or woodlandsjuniorschool - they all have loads of stuff on and links to loads more. BBC website also has lots of bits on schools one.Mortgage £119,533 going down slowly

DS2 has just "insisted" on making a cake. SO rather than do my usual 3 egg mix I have made a 1 egg mix and done it in the halogen oven in one of his 4" play tins.
Fingers crossed it works - because if it does there is just enough for 2 portions of cake and I wont be be tempted to have a slice:rotfl:
