We're arranging a meeting next week with the nurse attached to the Aged P's doctors.

I'm leaving DS2 to his own devices, it just hurts when your children are hurting. :o And of course I think he needs a kick which he won't get while he stews in his digs. I know this is but a small fraction of his life (hopefully!) though I guess he thinks it is the end. But he does need to do something.....dealing with a setback like this could be the making of him!

e-bay has free listing this weekend......could help with both the money and the clearing up :rotfl: and a Boot fair the following weekend. But it won't amount to £3K......

Thanks for your kind words :D

He's away till Sunday MG working but will talk to him then. Cant see any reason why not, It'd need to be a weekend when he's not on call though, if thats ok.

Absotootely hon - be lovely to see you both again.

I am scrubbing my way around the house - Mum has donated a 2l bottle of FLASH with febreze to my cleaning stash - and well, I know its not getting anything cleaner than Stardrops but it smells lovely and clean and fresh too.

Off to polish my mirrors with a microfibre cloth in a moment. - Oh the exciting life I lead:rotfl:

Hello Olive hon - that is fabulous news about K4K - how much do we need to find for you for the duty?? .....................maybe the kids will get these for this Christmas :D I'm sure whenever they get there you will be the bestest Auntie ever.

Pants about the relocation - are you looking forward to the next country? As for DS, well there's a lot of "tough love" with our Men In Training going on at the moment - seems to be the season for it. Anything we can do to help - just shout, but in the meantime take care of yourself.

Oops DS2 wants "Singing in the Rain" on - must go

Will be back to catch up later but just wanted to talk about the blogs. Here is mine (link as my home page):

Marru started her block in autumn 2010 when she was moving due to having got a new job. This is the new beginning and even than it is not the first and unlikely to be the last one she is hoping that this is a successful one where her quest for healthy finances and organized and happy life takes a big leap forward. After few months in nothing much have changed as she has been wrestling with the Black Dog but in the near future some tips and hints might be available that she has found helpful for moving towards better life – let’s call that goal Tranquility.

Hello all, went on a walk today so OH could go and pay his rent. I bought him a Sudoku puzzle book yesterday and he's happily scribbling away in it bless him :)

Hope everyone's alright, still dreading this meeting but I have found out where the bus stops though I still need to ring to ask what time the meeting is. I know it's either 10 or 11 depending on which one I go to. I shall let you know how my planning goes...

  • Good on you Willow :T. When the dread hits, remember to breathe - in through the nose, out through the mouth, in for 2, out for 4, peace in, fear out. It's a good technique to learn and gets me through many panicky situations.

On the "training our young men" discussion, I would like to post a success. Earlier this year, I passed all the contact detail's of ds's ASD support-workers over to him. I explained that if necessary, I would be there to support him but it was now up to him to be responsible for making phonecalls, sending emails and initiating contact. Well over 4 months have passed with no action on ds's part (the centre have remained in periodic contact but he has only received the blanket correspondence sent out to all members) but... in the last week he has phoned his support worker, left a message on an answer-phone and emailed - the result he is going to see Harry Potter next week and out for a drink the following week. Sounds such small steps but believe me this is huge :T. I think at this rate we will be dealing with the dropping out of Uni scenario when he is about ooooh 35 :rotfl:.

Well done Willow! Get that phone call made! :T

Sounds like that's HUGE progress for your DS thrifty, well done to both of you! :T :T
  • Okay, we definitely have a development spurt going on here, either that or it's a full moon :D. Ds has just, of his own volition, come downstairs and collected a bin bag to throw out his rubbish. Now he does this already but it usually involves a date on the calender plus a set of sequential verbal reminders. He has obviously just decided that it needed doing sooner - what is going on - I'm not complaining mind :rotfl:

    Afternoon all

Really not now after an afternoon at Sports Day. DS3 happy as he won his 220m and DS2 happy as he got A*s in his English presentations. This is a big thing for him as he hates speaking in front of people and said he was shaking like anything and is exhausted now.

Thrifty that is great news on your DSs progress and well done to you for having the faith in him to hand it over

Can I ask what k4k is? A business?

Just had my insurance for the car renewal come through and it has gone up over £100 and nothing has changed apart from the car being a year older and thus worth even less. Comparison sites here I come.

K4K is Kits for Kids.... it's a little project we had just before Christmas to collect football kits for children in Africa. Someone will give you the website :)

Insurance has gone up massively over the last year 20-40%, because the cost of claims is getting bigger and bigger. Alway worth a check on the interweb though :)

My renewal was cheaper than the comparison sites this year - still went up £50 on last year though, and that was after my rolling down a bank into a tree accident came off my claim history!!!

Sorry to be a bit self absorbed ladies but I feel sick to my stomach (have done all day) and I feel my chest is tight, like it's a slight effort to breathe. Is this what a panic attack feels like??? Have felt so stressed today, aftermath of a few things yesterday. Anyone got any sure fire ways of de-stressing when I have a kids party tomorrow to start preparing for tomorrow?
