And as if by magic .................... a cheque appeared:j
So quick scoot off to the bank and then back home to transfer it into the "freedom fund"
Also looks like my Working Tax Credits have gone down £30 his week. I did inform them that DS2 was no longer at Playgroup and the amount that they used to pay (£11) was no longer required. Don't know why it would have gone down £30 though?
So down £30 per week on Tax Credits and in November I will be down £40 in Back to Work Credits too. Losing £70 from our budget is not going to be sustainable so will need to get my thinking cap on.
Having loads of fun writing the script - but it doesn't pay the gas bill at the moment, so back to the cleaning and the thinking.
MGFINALLY AND OFFICIALLY DEBT FREESmall Emergency Fund £500 / £500
Pay off all Debts £10,000 / £10,000
Grown Up Emergency Fund £6000 / £6000 :j
Pension Provision £6688/£23760 -
Right - just blitzed the little ones bedroom - off to the CS all the outgrown toys and binned the random plastic bits.
Off to do the same with my room (although it has less plastic bits) so that I can get in a deep clean and give it a quick lick of paint to freshen it up.
The only way to keep my head above water is to get some rooms let out - so massive clean up in progress.
Fantasia - if hubbies offer still stands can we throw a date in the diary.

Morning all
Thanks for that Greenbee. I'll set to work with hoovering out the wardrobe tomorrow when the rain comes.
Cherry I love that quote - thank you
MG funny I am in the same mood and have been eating up all the little frogs this morning.
Sports day later so I have another hour to crack on.The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Well, can't say I've chomped on any major frogs but I have felt motivated as well. Lots of tadpoles have been guzzledIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0

I'm back in the UK with a better connection so I can post as well as read
We have a thing in Quakers that we should live Adventurously - it's been good advice to a middle aged sloth like meBut sometimes it bumps into that Chinese curse "may you live in interesting times" and at the moment I'm not waving I'm drowning
My frogs aren't being eaten because they are largely out of my control or beyond my ability
1) DS2 has been binned from uni, is refusing to talk about it or come home until his lease runs out. He has zero marketable skills as his course was vocational. He just didn't do the work
2) we are moving countries again which should be :j but is overwhelming me
3) loft needs to be emptied and I've been working on that for days, but some of it is physically beyond me. Has to be completed by July 27th...
4) Bailing out DD and dealing with a paycut has put us back in debt(DD is now working and see no2) And I need to pay a bill of £3K by July end.
5) parents are reaching a tipping point, they aren't really coping and Ma's Altzheimers is, as expected, getting worse:( and Pa is getting frailer
:(
On the good news, K4K goods are in the state warehouse, we have agreed that duty & VAT is only payable on 38 pairs of boots :j But no figure yet available, and no sign of actually being allowed to collect them (shrugging icon here)
Sorry to bang on, but I've benefited from writing this all out, and if I press submit instead of the usual delete.........0 -
Crickett - set yourself realistic goals with the stairs. Maybe aim to do two floors every day, 5 floors once a week and all 9 at the start of the week so you have the rest of the week to recover for the weekend! Build it uo gradually, so you start going down one flight to get the lift at lunchtime or something... Maybe have a training plan for your mountaineering!
Btw my reflexologist (who is also a nutritionist) says your nutritionist sounds like an NLP practitioner (lots of them do both, as it helps). She also says she finds it hard explaining that four pieces of fruit plus a tomato in a lunchtime sandwich is NOT what you're supposed to do for 5 a day. I limit myself to on glass of juice and 100g of fruit most days, and then challenge myself to eat as many portions of veg as possible!
Struggling with presentationsbut have a call soon to break the monotony and will then tackle the airing cupboard.

Waves hello to OliveOyl :hello:. Lovely to see you posting again.
Can you hand back some of those frogs to their correct owners eg ds2 getting binned from uni is his frog to deal with; dd needing bailed out is her frog to deal with; can Social Services help with ma & pa. Hope this isn't out of order but hopefully this would free up some energy to allow you to cope with moving country which is an enormous frog that'll need dividing so that you can conquer it.
Thanks for the update on k4k, Thriftyxxx0 -
(((((oliveoyl))))))))))))) Oh dear
Sounds like there's a LOT overwhelming you at the minute! Maybe sit down and work out what you CAN do something about right now (possibly can't do anything yourself about son?). What's the next thing to do for your parents - are social services involved? Any charity? As for money - they can't have what you haven't got. Deep breaths and a cup of tea to start with - hope you feel better by writing it all down xx

Totally agree, kids worry you still when they are adults, but the messes they make are their own to deal with once past the age off official adult hood. You support them emotionally, but thats as far as it goes. otherwise the message you send them is. There, there its all ok, it doesnt matter what you do, Mum and dad will fix it, they have to learn to stand on their own 2 feet. Let them take responsibility for their own flack.
You have to take care of you and start doing it now.
Well done on posting, thats one frog munched in itself xxx0
