Mr Fantasia is coming to help me put up the stud work when I have everything collected - but if I call Mr Fantasia eye-candy, Fanatasia might rupture something giggling
It's a pain when you can't do the physical stuff - so I miss having a guy around then - but TBH life seems to be a bit easier without all the dramas that my friends are in the middle of.
Off to put on some washing and figure out what to cook from stores................. oh! and adjust my UGC spendies.
ETA Welcome Dinah, was so busy spluttering coffee and wiping my monitor I missed this so apologies x
MG
I splattered my coffee all over the screen. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:.
Eye-candy he aint, :rotfl:He scrubs up ok, but still wouldnt call him eye-candy.
*wanders off giggling0 -
:rotfl::rotfl:RANT ALERT - AVERT YOUR EYES:rotfl::rotfl:
Does your Dad ever drive you daft?????
Mine has just passed a message on (through my Mum) for me to leave the garden be ............. he will do it when he has time!!!
That will be after his part-time job ..............
................... and after walking the dog
................ and after any football on the telly
.............. oh!!! and as its golf season after any game of golf that he manages to squeeze in.................
................ so don't plan on it being ready for DS1 to plant out seedlings this year:mad:
He hasn't got time to screw together the raised beds for our side planting today - because he has decided (after an impromtu game of golf this morning) to go and cut DS1's best friends Mum's grass .....
............... because she has hurt her back!!! :rotfl::rotfl:
I wouldn't mind, but it really is a 30 minute job!!!
Now bearing in mind that:
1. This is the third year of him promising to do something with the garden with me.
2. DS1 will be using the garden as a huge part of his home-schooling THIS YEAR - as he won't be homeschooled NEXT year, having a garden NEXT year won't be much use to him IYSWIM
3. DS1 is really proud of his work so far and is really excited about growing us some food and completing his projects to show the Matrix.
4. WE as a family really need to be growing our own this year ......... because the cost of food is getting pretty silly.
So what I need to figure out is how to smile sweetly at my Dad and say with all sincerity "Thanks Dad" - whilst making b****y sure it happens anyway :rotfl::rotfl:
What is it with Men and forward planning in my family? - do they really not think things through, or do they feel that saying they will do something (but never actually doing it) somehow absolves them of all responsibility.
Oh!!! BTW this is the same man who told me he was going to price up some timber for the baby's room, me three weeks ago - and it still hasn't been done. "Well it's not important" he says "I won't have time to help you till the winter (Read after Golf Season).
Again - this has been on the plans for three years .......... and if I am to stand ANY chance of letting rooms to students they need to be ready for inspections in late July. He has been told this several times BTW.
No lettings, no budget to pay the mortgage when interest rates rise - seems pretty logical to me.
And breathe ...........................
..................it's safe to look again
So back to plan A - do it for yourself love!!!!!!:rotfl:

But when I am focused and have done all the preparation for a text it saves me getting repetitive strain; and it faster than typing (particualrly pecking randomly with four to six fingers) - we all speak faster than we write.
Fear of the blanck page/screen is much reduced as well.

Hi everyone, mind if I join? Lara has been telling me I need to come over and say hi for months now, and I finally found some time to come see what all the fuss was about. And I'm struck by what a positive group of people you all are.
A little about me, I've been on the DFW boards for about 4 years now, clearing the debt then sickness and buying a house has brought it back again. I got married 8 months ago, and since then I've been working to set up my own business, which I believe a few people on here are doing? Some days after being out of the house 12 hours at my main job and coming home and doing another few hours on my own business is too much for me, so chatting to some positive, like minded types would be great to keep my motivation up.
I don't ever really 'stop' - to the point our tv hasn't been on in 3 months (although we do try to watch a movie on the laptop once a week). However I don't always feel like I make the best use of my time - by the time I get in from work I'm shattered mentally and often end up faffing on with ebay rather than focussing on the business or finishing off our house so we can put it up for sale. I went on holiday with a friend last week and had a great time, but day to day its rare I put aside any time for pure enjoyment, everything always seems to have to be done for a reason.
Looking forward to getting to know you all, if you'll have me.
I think its brilliant you posting here, I did follow one of your first diaries and alway thought you were so inventive, I couldn't keep up with the rest!
Good to see you

If its any consolation which I doubt, my brother in law and sister have both promised forever to "do Mum's garden" but they haven't, I have started doing bits myself which now seems to mean I get stuck with the crappy jobs and they get to go to the nursery and make plans with Mum. oh they do cut the grass.......thanks really..........

As sad as it is MG, I sometimes think this is the only answer! I don't have anyone to ask for help and my daughter's disability stops her from being able to help too much and so I always end up doing stuff myself and even though sometimes I get a bit upset about it, at least I get things done when I want to get things doneOD [STRIKE] £2600 [/STRIKE] £0 :j Loan [STRIKE]£9500.00[/STRIKE] £0 :j Car [STRIKE]£3150[/STRIKE] £0 :j Moving Costs [STRIKE]£1300[/STRIKE] £0 :j Savings £1150 :j

Hi Dinah - sorry to rant on the back of your introduction - it doesn't happen too often I promise.
Mum has just come in having taken my shopping list off the board and gone round LIDL - everything on the list - nothing more, nothing less "Because I know you only need whats on the list love" ........................
Love my Mum!!! Love my Dad too, its just sometimes - Grrrrr!!!!
So £13.84 for this weeks shopping - including loads of Fruit and veggies for SW plan. So pleased!!! So I make that currently running at 83p per person per day, although we have now got loads in so that chould tick down nicely.

Waves hello to Dinah :wave::wave:. Welcome to the madhouse _party_
And breathe MG - visions MG in a calm, protected bubble.
So time to do it yourself my friend (when your back is better).
Ideas: do you know any young teens who would be willing to help out for some pocket money - 13/14 year olds can be very strong. Or what about a local scout group or boys / girls brigade - they often need projects to do for their badges.0 -
It's an idea thrifty - but some of what I need to to do is terracing and retaining planters and steps. Might have an ask around to find a friendly teenager though.
I'm certainly NOT waiting till NEXT year - LOL.
My fridge is now clean and full of good things to eat :j So should be all set for the week now ................ and don't actually need to drive until Friday now eitherSo plenty time to get my back better.
I'm so impatient to get everything sorted .............. it's taken me so long to save the money for the timber and stuff that I want it done, and I want it done now :rotfl: (Stamps Foot!!!)

Been offline for awhile due to poorly head. Head now back to full health (well within its limitations :rotfl:)
Just a quick question. Can anyone recommend a quick and easy biscuit recipe that I would likely to have ingredients in my cupboards for? My new oven got installed today and I would like to make some biccies with DD."Everything will be alright in the end. If it's not alright, it's not the end."
