Hi all, some very interesting points on here about MG and the mentors. Nothing to add really except that I wouldn't rush to label it all, you are just 'you' MG and your past, present and future are as fun and exciting as you want to make them. Just take care of you and do what makes YOUR heart sing.

Off today and tomorrow so heading to mum and dads at some point later.

For what it's worth I have heard myself being described as a 'career girl' before by someone who thought I was so into work that that was what was stopping me having kids ie that was their way of explaining it to themselves. Labels are handy for other folk but do we need them for ourselves? I thought that label was hilarious. I love my work but it's to give me money to do what I want, no more, no less.

    Good morning

Had a day out yesterday, went to see my friend in her shop and popped into Ponty, Dh bought a net book for me to use when I'm out at app etc with mum so I can carry on with stuff while I am waiting.

He has had it on full charge and the battery lasts 3 hours 10 mins before it needs charging again.

Plus my laptop has been put for repair. (I find it heavy to carry around hence the netbook being bought)

Not much planned for today, apart from sort some planters out in the garden, although I'm not sure what are weeds and what arn't lol.

Plus sort out some earrings for my friend, she bought jewellery off someone and it wasn't very good, so I brought all the earrings home with me yesterday to glam them up a bit :)

Hmm, lots of trouble here in Kampala on Friday - big riots where 13 people were killed. It was triggered by the very violent arrest of the opposition leader, who was leading a peaceful protest on the soaring inflation of food and fuel prices (currently 11% overall, but 24% on food). Luckily I was safe in the guest house, as I had delayed going into town to go straight to a royal wedding party(!). So we will see what this week will bring. If needs be I will come home, but hopefully it will not come to that. This is a wonderful country and I don't want people's lives or livelihoods to be affected by violence. I hope that a meeting of the leaders on Tuesday will produce some compromise policies. Of course fighter jets have just been commissioned for hundreds of millions of pounds. There is always money for war

I really enjoyed staying in and watching the royal wedding though. I'm not a royalist but it's lovely to see a special couple get married. It made me so excited about our wedding in August. Although not quite on the same scale :rotfl: it will be just as special.

Some interesting chats about the mentors. Agree with everything that has been said, and I hope that the mentors will be much more open to different shapes and sizes of business. The idea of freelance work selling your time is one of the best ways of obtaining flexible working, but it obviously needs to be structured differently for you and your family MG. Amongst my friends there's a whole spectrum of approaches - those who charge huge day rates and work less, those who love to work and so have lower day rates to get interesting projects, not always super commercial stuff... Those who are satellite to other companies and work for them on a semi-regular basis alongside full-time study.

Lara that must be scary, stay safe!!

We've had gorgeous weather again so far for this long weekend :) I've been pottering in the garden and have cleared one border totally ready to have a go at square foot gardening. Yesterday we went to the Cuckoo Fair with OH's parents, was a lovely old fashioned village fair with stalls, may pole dancing, bands, food and had a lovely atmosphere.

Hope your back is feeling better MG and positive vibes for all others that need them x

Hello everyone - believe it or not I have spent the day "life-coaching" for want of another word a young lady who has hit her rock bottom.

Totally unexepected - and not what I had planned - but Mum kind of insisted that I take the day with her as I am a practical sort - and she felt that the "life is tough - but you are tougher!!!" approach was what was needed.

My head is spinning TBH - so I am going to feed the boys and throw everything onto a quick Mind Map for easy digestion.

Just had a text from my young lady - she is home and has already done her "3 things to move her forward" list.

ETA BTW I love the idea of mosaic - The Matrix Mosaic has a ring about it dont you agree?

    Good afternoon.

Have had a busy afternoon food shopping and Amending earrings for my friend, still load to do but my arm is aching now so need to rest it and have another go in a few hours, food shopping wise I think we should be able to manage the month now without buying much more other than fruit and fresh veg bread etc.

I'm having a go of the netbook to see if I can get on with it, it is very strange and the small keyboard will take lot of getting used to. Other than that it is ok, We found a lovely red case that fits it perfect in poundland :)

just catching up and checking emails etc, then I'm going to do steak, mushrooms chips nd peppercorn sauce for tea mmmmm.
