Bleurgh....
Just up - have had one cup of coffee & about to stagger through for another one.
As DH is off again today then runs to the local coup are in order with stuff pulled out of the garden
Went to St Andrews yesterday to have lunch on my £50 voucher - it was seriously nice - also seriously not cheap if I'd been paying. Treated myself to some nice parma ham, artichoke hearts, piccallili & DH got some posh ginger beer.
Am listening to the local radio station as we speak hoping to be able to win another meal.:p
While I remember - St Andrews has a great range of charity shops with classy stuff..... Got myself an Ann Harvey blouse & an Aladdin bento bos for under a tenner.. Go meDebts 07/12/2021

Mr Fantasia is coming to help me put up the stud work when I have everything collected - but if I call Mr Fantasia eye-candy, Fanatasia might rupture something giggling
It's a pain when you can't do the physical stuff - so I miss having a guy around then - but TBH life seems to be a bit easier without all the dramas that my friends are in the middle of.
Off to put on some washing and figure out what to cook from stores................. oh! and adjust my UGC spendies.

I have been up since about 4 - reading pammyj74's MFW diary. I am amazed at this lady and her focus on paying little bits n pieces off of her mortgage.
Glad the back is a bit better, having experienced back probs over the years I can sympathise and its so tempting to do more/too much when it starts to improve [or maybe thats just me].
I think the Mortgage Free Wanabee thread MFW is great, loads of good ideas for overpaying and whittling away at that mortgage. Lots of inspirational diaires too - bit like DFW but of course concentrated on mortages. There are also some handy calculators for working out how much you'll shorten your mortgage even by small overpayments. Can't wait till ours has gone :j [sadly not any time soon].0 -
Love the MFW diaries too. We can start to overpay from 2012, shame our mortgage is only for 40% of the house, and the rest we don't own. Will need to overpay like crazy if we are ever to own the whole house before the age of 100!:A :heartpuls June 2014 / £2014 in 2014 / £735.97 / 36.5%0

Crafty, Dragon Naturally Speaking is a programme that types what one tell it - it has to be trained but generally works well. I can't use it always and not sure why. But when I am focused and have done all the preparation for a text it saves me getting repetitive strain; and it faster than typing (particualrly pecking randomly with four to six fingers) - we all speak faster than we write.
Fear of the blanck page/screen is much reduced as well.

Just heard about B** L***n - I remember 9/11 too well. Sitting feeding my baby (DS1) and hearing EVERY plane at local RAF base hit the skies in what seemed like seconds.
Then trying to get threough to my Best Friend who was working in Canary Wharfand persuading her to take the afternoon off and walk home (I was worried about her working in London's tallest building that has got a huge big flashing beacon on top)
Please now keep everyone in the Embassy's safe.

Can I join you in the whimpering corner Craftyscholar :rotfl:. I am not a natural writer in any way shape or form. Non-fiction writing is marginally better than fiction but my problem is that I take so bloomin' looonnggggg writing anything.
Things here are more or less back to normal here at Thrifty Towers. Dh is at work. Dd had a sleep-over last night as part of her never-ending 16th birthday celebrations( which is actually tomorrow) but it was so much more calm and civilised after the raucous gaming evening on Saturday night. Ds has emerged from his self-imposed isolation like the creature from the pit :rotfl:.
Just contemplating taking a strimmer to the back jungle. Shall I, shan't I - bit of proscrastination goin' on here.

Aaaaargh - old ladies from opposite have just been over to tell us some ridge tiles have moved off the extension, have been out and looks more like someONE has moved the ridge tiles as they've also pulling the flashing up and out of the edge between the roof and house - grrrr. So now we have to get someone out on a bank holiday to get it fixed or at least secured or something and sods law says whoever started it last night will be on their way soon to try and complete the job
Dh is already saying he will stay and watch the roof while I go to greg Davies on my own - flipping brilliant:mad:Mortgage £119,533 going down slowly

Hi everyone, mind if I join? Lara has been telling me I need to come over and say hi for months now, and I finally found some time to come see what all the fuss was about. And I'm struck by what a positive group of people you all are.
A little about me, I've been on the DFW boards for about 4 years now, clearing the debt then sickness and buying a house has brought it back again. I got married 8 months ago, and since then I've been working to set up my own business, which I believe a few people on here are doing? Some days after being out of the house 12 hours at my main job and coming home and doing another few hours on my own business is too much for me, so chatting to some positive, like minded types would be great to keep my motivation up.
I don't ever really 'stop' - to the point our tv hasn't been on in 3 months (although we do try to watch a movie on the laptop once a week). However I don't always feel like I make the best use of my time - by the time I get in from work I'm shattered mentally and often end up faffing on with ebay rather than focussing on the business or finishing off our house so we can put it up for sale. I went on holiday with a friend last week and had a great time, but day to day its rare I put aside any time for pure enjoyment, everything always seems to have to be done for a reason.
Looking forward to getting to know you all, if you'll have me.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008
