I'm in for a healthy eating challenge - we go on holiday on 12th August, and I'm paid up at Slimming World til then, so it'd be GREAT to not have to pay again when I came back! :rotfl: That means losing another 20lbs in 6 weeks though - given it's taken me the best part of 6 weeks to lose 5lbs, that's probably an unrealistic goal (and not sustainable in the long run!), so I shall go for getting off another 11.5lbs - means ramping it up a bit! :T

Scary phone calls today - wibble. Up early enough that nobody else will be at work yet, so going to get some other stuff done first :D

    Morning Matrix.

Greenbee, I am with you, if you are with me! It will help me no end. Hubby and I decided last night that we need to recommit to the healthy eating thing because last week we kind of went off track in a big way. I also attempt to get 5 a day and all colours of the rainbow. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't! :) I am also going to try and keep up the exercise. It has been really hard recently because I have been feeling to tired. So, time to get back on the Wii Fit.

I took my first pill last night at 7pm and we are planning so that i take the pill every night at the same time.

    Have a good day everyone.

Cowbag is back from her wedding and honeymoon. Oh joy of joys. Already the atmosphere around the desk has changed and it is negative as well. Great. I am going to try and not let it worry me.
ignore her :p lots of positive visualisation. Ask her questions about the honeymoon and be sweetness and light personified. It may not make her nicer but it might annoy her (or entertain everyone else!). And at lunchtime, go out and sit somewhere outside with your lunch and a book or sewing... It'll be a few more steps, some fresh air and a break from the toxic atmosphere. Remember, being outside (ideally with trees and water) is supposed to help with feelings of wellbeing, so make sure you get your daily dose. I've had mine... 2 mile walk (well just over - 500 more steps than yesterday) before breakfast. Rice milk porridge, strawberries and apple juice for breakfast along with a million vitamins. Pill taken first thing (my hair hasn't fallen out yet!). Annoying colleagues in singapore who expect responses at 5am wound up...
Sounds like we should all put our heads down and be more conscious over the next 6 weeks or so to support you two. One pound closer to goal today - but I would love to be a 14lbs closer by the time DS1 goes to his new school and with a stronger more flexible back.

Who is going to nominate a challenge? Today to 18th of Aug is 50 days???

Gotta go talk to one of the Mentors about a proposal I have been made (work not white dress kind -although I did have a very, ahem!!! interesting dream last night)

Back in half an hour or so

    MG
Challenge sounds a great idea... Let's set something up over the other side. There is a health & fitness one already, but I think one with a specific deadline would be good. And we can be honest about our goals over there in private...:o

The first one will be scary... The last one will just be dull. Don't start on anything that will give you an excuse not to get on with the phone calls... And remember, some people do start work early, so you could give it a try...

    Good morning

House is getting me down today as I haven't had the time or the health to clean it properly.

So I scrubbed and bleached the bathroom yesterday morning, so its looking much better, this morning I have scrubbed the kitchen and washed the floor, I will just have a quick tidy through the rest of the house and get some washing sorted, then tomorrow concentrate on the living room.

I'm waking up in the mornings in total agony so am really struggling. Just hoping I get an app for the injection in my back sooner rather than later, as it helped loads.

Daffy - you can do the phone calls. Just be polite and chirpy and perhaps apologetic for chasing, the worst thing is they will say is no.

Crickett - Deep breaths honey........get out as much as you can from your desk without looking like you're absconding ;)

MG - I never have those sorts of interesting dreams. Mine last night was about scary things hiding in the house and having to protect the kids. Recurring theme sadly that I've been having for the last 6 years :o

Nowt to report, gloriously sunny here, bit of a muzzy head again but I was up from 5am as DD wet the bed. Must get some cleaning done as after feeling so pants yesterday I didn't get anything done :o

Have a great day everyone :D

Just popping by to say good morning!

Cheery Well done for knuckling down to those phone calls already.....and if you haven't, then GET ON WITH IT! ;)

Crickett I second the "be bright and cheerful" with the Cowbag approach. Also, perhaps alter your thinking towards her - at the moment you think of her as "Cowbag" which is in itself negative - if you alter to thinking of her as "Rachel" or "Sue" or whatever her name really is, you're humanising her again, rather han treating her as something to be wary of. If she's being negative to you, then why not ask her brightly if everything is OK as she seems to be a bit unhappy and it's affecting everyone - you can't be the only one to be noticing her attitude, so others will most likely back you putting her in a position where she has to either admit to whatever the problem is, or say there is no problem, in which case she needs to buck her ideas up!

Still trying to stick with the healthy eating approach here too - so also well up for a challenge - although obviously if you're taking this to the other side I won't be able to join in as such. I've really found that posting my food choices publicly has helped me to resist though so will continue to do that on here and / or my diary.

Greenbee Good luck with your medication too - it's so handy that you and Crickett have one another for support.

Afternoon all, hope everyone's okay. Don't really understand what's going on since I'm kinda new here but I'm sure I'll catch up eventually :)

  • Afternoon everyone. Have managed okay this morning... kept my head down and got on with my work, responding to my colleague as cheerily and happily as I can. I have decided that EH is right. My nickname for her is not a positive on. So, instead of "cowbag" she is henceforth known as "LadyJ". That doesn't have the negative connotations at all, does it?

Hubby made me the most enormous lunch today. It was cottage cheese and wholemeal melba toast with pepper, mangetout, tomatoes, radishes, even raw asparagus! :D I have finished the mangetout and the pepper, but had to leave everything else cos I was stuffed! And he sent me with half the fruit bowl too!! Bless his heart! :)

Looking forward to getting through to 4pm and going home. I need to decide what I am going to wear on Friday, as we have an away day at work and for half the day i will be doing gardening type activities. It is Canada Day as well (and to celebrate I always wear red and white!) so I am trying to work out what I can wear for that. At least it is a day out of the office. And LadyJ is not going to be there either! :D

Much better name Crickett - well done! :D

greenbee you were right about the first phone call being scary and the rest dull :rotfl: Worked everything out and I only need to phone 17 people, not 30-odd, so that's half the work gone already :rotfl: Have got names for everyone, and numbers, and a list of what to say :T Rang 4 - although that in itself has involved about 9 phone calls because inevitably the people we're contacting are on long term sick/not there any more/now doing something else :rotfl: At least that explains why they've not responded :D

So... I'm thinking of myself as a detective sleuth type character instead of a cold caller :rotfl: And of course, everybody so far has been very nice, talking about the weather while waiting for the computer to load, making it a personal mission to find out who I need etc :D

Anyway, time for lunch now I reckon, and then a lovely MSE-er is coming round this afternoon! :T :T :T So I'd best clean up a bit and buy some milk! :D

Thanks for your support - things sometimes really aren't that bad once you get on with them :rotfl:

Well fingers crossed - it looks like I might e back online again (as opposed to trying to read you guys on the neighbours i-phone)

Need to go and train my Dragon again - Pah!!! and download something that will enable me to watch DVD's but just now I am having a coffee and wishing I had a large brandy to go in it. Strike that , a very large brandy to go in it.

DS1 is upstairs on his bed sobbing his heart out having watched the things belonging to the school he has attended for 8.5 years be packed into boxes, lifted into a van and head off to the Netherlands. Everyone was in tears when we left (except DS2 who didn't really understand what was going on).

DS1 even asked me if it was his fault that the school had to close? Absolutely not of course, but I harbour no great love for our old Head Teacher, in fact my only regret is that I didn't prosecute her husband for assault. Given the situation again I would handle that one differently.

I suppose I will reach a point where I am simply grateful for my boy being given such a wonderful start to his life, but just now I can't see past the fact that one year ago we had a school of 25 and today it is gone. HT is heading to Sweden with her kids - so they will all be able to have a continuing Montessori education - and DS1? well he is in the best school around that I can find, but if I am honest it is still not early good enough when compared to what he had.

So I think we need a few days to rest up and lick our wounds - and a few more conversations with DS1 to convince him that he was not to blame in any way.

    Sometimes being a parent sucks!!!!

Enjoy your tooting session this afternoon Daffs! :j:j

Crickett - MUCH better! LadyJ it is! Your lunch sounds lovely too - glad to know it's not only me who gets mystery lunches prepped for me either - today I had a pate sandwich (with the rather lovely bread I made yesterday in a fit of domestication) followed by some melon, a kiwi fruit, an apple and a clementine. There were crisps in the bag too but I took those out and left them at home! :A

Willow - have a read of MG's first post on the diary - that summarises what everyone has been up to quite well! :D
