FW : Are there places nearby that DS can get unpaid experience (in something that interests him)? If he likes the idea of sales/customer service could he do regular shifts in a charity shop he can walk to. I suggest this since the one I occasionally work at has put regulars through NVQ2/3 in customer and sales. I would imagine that if you are not used to doing outbound sales, it can be very negative (subconsiously you think the people are rejecting you and not what you are selling). If he has been 'resting' for a while it is much better have a positive experience, though if he fancies outbound calling he needs to think where he can get the experience (or similar) to add it to his CV.

Better it is something he has an interest in and that he goes to regularly. All of the people I work with are good fun and happy to get on with the job and I have found it useful.

    Oops - lost a post

Computer still playing silly sods - back to normal by Friday I hope.

DS1's last day with Montessori teacher tomorrow - end of an era. He's having a day in his new school on Thursday.

I rocked my seminar today - hopefully there will be a few more local ones with the first years next session.

In at DS2 playgroup tomorrow then all the legals to get DS1 registered with new school - hopefully back online in the library middle of tomorrow afternoon.

Well done on the grades Willow :j and  to the useless doc Crickett.

Boss was waiting for me this morning full of apologies so am a bit grrr with myself cos I didn't really tell him how I felt about his constant absences - he is also still weighing up classes for next year and don't want him to give me a huge change (have only just settled into current class/room and would have to shift all my stuff and re-think everything again)

Have had a lovely marble moment with ds tonight as I took him to park for a scoot and he has learnt how to use the brake - he is only 4 and is a whizz on a 2-wheeler already Summer hols plan is to go to the park bike area and take picnics and sit and read while he scoots all day!

  • Crickett I don't post often post but I cannot believe how your doctor spoke to you. That is disgusting.

I would be horrified if my Doctor (who is one of many and all mostly rude to some extent) spoke to me like that. It is hard to ignore such comments, a friend said something to me about the gym the other and I was very upset, triggered off all kinds of negativity.

I hope somewhere in your soul you realise that you are a great women capable of getting through this next six weeks and beyond.

Crickett - I start my three months of medication tomorrow morning, so we're in this together. My potential side effects also include weight gain (having beaten the data out of my brother, approx 2.5kg over 12 months and he says I should be able to avoid it), as well as hair loss, increased facial hair, acne, insomnia, tiredness, nausea and irritability. I now have excuses for everything :p

I know I need to work hard to help the medication work, so I'm taking supplements, improving my diet, increasing my exercise levels and also trying to get rid of other stresses (need to get the house sorted and get on top of work) as I have to concentrate on looking after myself but not dwell on it.

So if you're up for a challenge, I'm starting with trying to eat 5 portions of veg and two of fruit a day (lots of different colours), and increasing my exercise each week (this week it's walking... Getting my step count up so I'm more active throughout the day ... Including early morning activity so I start the day energised.

Kitchen is nearly done... For the first time in months i've actually nearly finished one of the lists on the OS flylady thread :o

Well done on rocking your seminar MG! :T :T Must feel great :T Does it feel strange DS off to school? Have a hug anyway, just n case (((())))))))

(((((matrix ladies)))))))) Rethinking things over and over and OVER this week. Feel like everything's been thrown up in the air and has landed all over the place.

HUGE dragon to tackle in the morning - have to essentially cold call 30+ people and see if I can get them to take part in our survey that they have already had 2 emails about and not completed. Kind of thing I absolutely HATE, and already feeling resentful that it's just me doing it! :rotfl: Still - must remind myself I am NOT trying to sell them anything, this is IMPORTANT, in the long run the plan is that it will benefit everyone

Oh, and it's my job and I'm being paid to do it :rotfl: :rotfl:

Going to do that FIRST though otherwise it'll never get done!

And on that note, sleep well lovely ladies... xx

Sounds like we should all put our heads down and be more conscious over the next 6 weeks or so to support you two. One pound closer to goal today - but I would love to be a 14lbs closer by the time DS1 goes to his new school and with a stronger more flexible back.

Who is going to nominate a challenge? Today to 18th of Aug is 50 days???

Gotta go talk to one of the Mentors about a proposal I have been made (work not white dress kind -although I did have a very, ahem!!! interesting dream last night)

Back in half an hour or so

    Morning Matrix.

Greenbee, I am with you, if you are with me! It will help me no end. Hubby and I decided last night that we need to recommit to the healthy eating thing because last week we kind of went off track in a big way. I also attempt to get 5 a day and all colours of the rainbow. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't! :) I am also going to try and keep up the exercise. It has been really hard recently because I have been feeling to tired. So, time to get back on the Wii Fit.

I took my first pill last night at 7pm and we are planning so that i take the pill every night at the same time.

    Have a good day everyone.

Cowbag is back from her wedding and honeymoon. Oh joy of joys. Already the atmosphere around the desk has changed and it is negative as well. Great. I am going to try and not let it worry me.
