Good Evening Matrix
Well..........you all did a fantastic job re-inspiring me and then along came this horrible gut bug thing and tried to undo all your good work. Determined not to go backwards again and at last I am getting my oomph back and can at least face the thought of food again. Number 2 grandson is to blame for this one. Little monster!!!!!!!!!
Perfect excuse, though, to crash in front of the telly and watch the events in London. Have to confess I love these spectacles.
Sorry to hear about your back, MG. Please look after yourself. The cause of my miseries over the past few months has been the incredible back pain I've had. I really thought I had got on top of the problem following surgery last October, but not so. I looked at my records and found I have been battling with this for 4 1/2 years now and still I have to cut shopping trips (and only local essential local shopping, not long distance luxury marathons) trips short because I can't bear it any more.
Still I've further tests next week and then back to see the surgeon again so hopefully they WILL find a solution. Positive vibes, please...
Will try to keep up, peeps..........promise!!!

:rotfl::rotfl: You could be right.
I have given up trying to stand and do the ironing - DS2 has got clothes for next week, DS1 has all his jeans done and will just have to muddle through with his t-shirts as best he can. The rest will just have to wait.
I have pulled out my Slimming World books as I begin to work from them from tomorrow. What has cheered me up is that everything we will have growing in our garden is FREE!!!!!
My first goal is lose 5lbs - after that I will set another goal, but baby steps, baby steps. Will obviously be doing "Green" in a bid to use up some of my stockcupboard staples. Also I find it works out a lot cheaper that way for us that way too.
DS1 is asking me to come and watch the wedding highlights so I'm going to move over to a hard seat with my hottie.

Have to explain to my sister that there is no wonder that Simeon (this is the Bulgarian king who is not a king but became Prime Minister of Bulgaria several years back) is invited to the wedding; he is family.
Katherine (as she has become) is a commoner but this doesn't mean she is common. As to improving the gene pool - what can I say. Lovely...

Oh, and we can't forget the honorable royal tradition of marrying your cousins. The Queen and Prince Philip are some kind of cousins I believe."A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort"Herm Albright 1876-19440

Its only a few days before I start working with the Mentors again so I would also like to take some time to create a framework / set of groundrules for how we work together now.
They have been suprisingly good at accepting that the way were working before perhaps wasn't approporiate - I think a lot of earbending by a lot of wives has been going on, but the simple upshot is.
They have worked in the past solely with Guys - those guys were either single or married with wives / support networks in place and so didn't have to deal with all the "keeping the home together and being there for kids" stuff.
I am female, on my own and am responsible for everything - and as everyone knows "doing it all" and doing too much is a recipe for burnout - which does not benefit the kids, me or the mentors.
So I need to write a new set of rules of engagement - a new model of work for 2011, how you can do a little bit of everything and still kiss your kids whn they scrape a knee.
Should be, ahem!!! interesting this time around - because things that are of upmost importance to me - don't even feature in many of the mentors working model at all.
Mars and Venus - Eh???
Right, first Froggie thing - shower and dressed

MG
That's really interesting MG. I've read loads of self-help books in an effort to 'get on top of everything', but they pretty much ignore the other responsibilities most women have (and some men too I'm sure). The overall effect is therefore to cause an imbalance between home (incl children, housework, OHs and relaxation) and work - one side gets ahead at the expense of the other...it really is a conundrum (sp?). It'll be good to see what you come up with - if you're able to share, of course.

Yep, they are cousins. And Greenbee you are correct - the Royal family were Coburg Gotha till WWI when a German aircraft called 'Gotha' started making the occasional flight over and bombing (one of Bulgarians' claim to fame is that we used aicraft for military purposes for the first time; agaist Turkey during the Balkan Wars). It sounded wrong on many levels to have RF with the same name as the enemy bomber. So they became Windsor.
The whole cousin thing is very interesting as well - it caused much trouble during WWI.
I not a royalist and Royalty for me is part of fairytales. I just know my history - sorry.

I also think that Sophie and Edward are cousins of some kind too (11th Cousins I think, but don't quote me)

11th cousins okay... that is a lot of blood difference. Any closer, and it starts to get...icky!!"A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort"Herm Albright 1876-19440
