13 necklaces made in half an hour :) not bad going :), just having 5 before I do some more :)

Have put batteries charged ready for the camera, just hope they are good enough now to sell.

MG I find walking about helps my back when it gets really sore, seems to loosen it up again for a while anyway, but too much walking irritates it.

My Accountant friend has been in - brought in some chocolate for the boys (Freddo Frogs naturally) and 400mg nurofen for me :j

He has been showing me how to run some scenarios on the spreadsheet he ran me up - including throwing the repayments of the Big Horse Debt at the mortgage once it is clear.

Following his plan of increasing payments by 10% every year ............ I would have paid off my mortgage TEN YEARS EARLY!!!!!!

How is that even possible :T

But has definitely cheered me up no end.:D

So thank you Accountant Friend - and thank you AF wife who phoned to tell him I was feeling poorly and sent him around with chocolate and tablets,

How lovely MG! :T :T What lovely friends are for :D

Pleased with myself today ladies :D (well, not so pleased with myself for only noticing yesterday how illegally bald the car tyres were  and being ticked off by both the garage and the tyre blokes, :o but we'll skate over that because I sorted it as soon as I noticed).

Anyway, I've been saying for ages I wanted to play my flute more, I'm utterly pathetic at playing in public, most of my friends are musicians, and I (through my own fault) am entirely known as not-a-musician (as well as lots of other things too, of course :p). So for a long time I've been too weedy to get out there and play in the pub with everyone else.

Today I've booked myself on a weekend festival of workshops - as a musician :D I do know a couple of people who are going (but they're not scary at all - and none of them will be in my workshop). I'll spend the weekend being taught by a fabulous Swedish musician to play Swedish tunes, for dancing, and in a group :D And I get to see my lovely friend who moved to Belgium and is coming back for the dancing workshops :D

All a bit scary  but I've been brave and done it now :j :j :j

(and I was also pleased with myself about paying for it, it cost £93, but there it was, sat in my holiday budget, for just such an occasion :j :j :j)

    :D

(best get back to work now - working at home today and what with all the messing about with the car I've had 3 hours off  will still be working at 10pm at this rate!)
  • Just doing a catch-up - ouch to your back MG. What a lovely doctor you have :T.

Eating financial frogs here at Thrifty Towers today :T - debts are being paid, we are moving forward :j.
  • Cheery Daff can I ask where you are going and how you found out about it?

I am a musician but unless I have sheet music I get dreadfully worried and am trying to free my mind following a jazz workshop last year! I had a break of 10+ years after being utterly hothoused as a kid, and have now been playing again for about 3 years.

Your workshop weekend sounds wonderful, look forward to hearing how you got on with it if you don't mind sharing!

cherisong, positive vibes are floating your way for whatever you need them for, and for others who also need them :)

I have been so bored today - I will never take my body for granted again. Was wandering around my house (better to keep moving) when I paused in front of an etching we have had for years.

It's a group of Fishwives blethering at the quay waiting for the boats to return. I noticed one has a baby tucked in a sling not unlike the one I used for DS2 - but then I noticed another, knitting and chatting - with the ball of wool tucked in her oxter (armpit).

Who knew you could knit standing up???? It's a bit odd, but better than wandering through the house gazing out of windows and listening to cbeebies :rotfl:

.................. and as usual the answer is there right in front of your nose.:D

I find this all the time - especially if I am knitting socks. I use the "magic-loop" way of doing socks because its easier to throw in a bag without losing a needle. Grannies are always sitting down with me to find out how its done - they are all proficient in the 4 needles method and I think all crafters get curious about new techniques.

You get some , ahem!!!, interesting conversations ............. and some of those Grannies can be really risque!!:rotfl:

    MG

ummm any chance for the magic loop instructions?

So sorry to hear about back problems. Hope it gets better very soon.

And grrrr to inconsiderate workmen. Had plenty those when still with ex and we tried to sort out the house. Veeeeryyyy frustrating.

I have now put the tenancy application in. Please can I have some positive vibes for the credit check to go through smoothly. (Insert here nail biting smiley)
