Ladies can I please ask for some positive vibes to head my way. Bit of a tricky situation being dealt with at the moment and I need all the help I can get in the positivity stakes right now.

Catch up later, coffee break over.

Cheri lots and lots of positive vibes for you xxx

MG - How lucky to have a Dr for a neighbour. My old GP was called Dr Love (I kid you not) and whenever I had to ring and book an appointment I used to imagine myself saying to the receptionist "Dr Luuuuuuuuuuuurve" in a very Barry White style :rotfl:

Crickett - I feel your pain.......have an attack of the CBA's myself :o:o

    Positive Vibes Greenbee and Cheri

Chippy dinner was lovely, a cone of chips walking through the park.

Right off now for a bit to make up some glass pendants I have into jewellery and photograph them :)
    Boiler pot £30.92/£1000
  • Well, the kick up the bahookie (love that phrase!) I gave myself earlier has worked. :D I finished the part of the spreadsheet from hell I was working on, and have catapulted onto doing other things. I finished off one thing that I thought was going to be hellish, and it turned out okay... so now I need to go through the list again and work out what it important and what can be done next week! :D

I'm blaming the north wind (its COLD!!!) and the fact that there is stuff going on in my life that is preventing me from focussing on the priorities. I need it sorted out to be able to move on, but its not stuff I'm in control of.

Anyway, work taxis are booked, so I will at least get to the airport on Monday

About a third of the study has been sorted, and I will have a shocking amount of filing to do by the time the desk is clear enough for me to do :o Looks like I haven't done anything for a couple of months... discovered I have a DynoRod bill to pay and a boiler service to book.

Once all this is sorted out I need to make a start on getting people to come in and do all the work that needs doing on the house. Why are people so unreliable? I was under the impression that times were tough, but no one seems to be able to turn up for the appointments they make to come and quote, which doesn't bode well for their ability to turn up and DO the work!

I know EXACTLY what you mean. When I needed a new boiler last year I arranged 5 quotes and 2 turned up!

I now want to spend a lot of money on my dump of a bathroom - last bit of capital expenditure thank goodness - I had two quotes booked for this morning and neither have turned up - infact neither have even rung/text to apologise. Bum.

If they CBA to turn up for a quote appointment, how can they imagine we'd trust them enough to employ them! Grr!

Still the nice man that did my kitchen is coming at 5; he's reliable, but not cheap.

    Keep motivated ladies xxx
  • MG, so sorry to hear about your back, but what a fab service from the doctor, so kind of him to help out and know what to do without being asked!

Sent from the universe for sure! hope you feel much better soon :)

Pah!!! Sun is out and I'm too sore to sit, too sore to stand and too scared to lie down in case I don't get up again.

Taken some more painkillers - so nothing to do but wait it out.

To celebrate my car passing it's MOT with only £20 of work, my mate in Brum who stays when he is collecting cars is going to bring me up 3 newish tyres for when I need to replace the ones I have on.:j Best kind of friends are practical ones.

Time to put my thinking cap on .............. project "baby's bedroom" needs a kick forward. Just need to confirm best prices for plasterboard.

I want my bathroom done too... I've worked out most of what I want, but I find the whole process so painful... I keep hoping every time I go away that it'll miraculously be done by the time I get back!

Also need the outside of the windows painting, everything inside redecorating, and ideally the living room carpet taking up and replacing with bamboo. I also want all the old skirting boards replaced as I had nice new ones put in the hall/kitchen/loo when the floor was done and the old ones now look tatty. Mind you, the upstairs floorboards need sorting out (maybe I could put down more bamboo :D) AFTER the decorating though... So bathroom first, then the rest. Or I could just move to somewhere that has been done up by someone else...

MG - do NOT lie down at ground level unless you know how to get up... this might work (try on a bed first!) roll onto your tummy, bring one knee up towards your waist to support you, and then see whether you can wriggle the other one up towards your bum. You can then move the other one back so that they're roughly even. Then with your face on the ground, and your arms roughly level with your shoulders, push your bum up in the air and back towards your heels. You should, if this works, end up (eventually) sitting on your heels, and can then use any available furniture/tree/person to haul yourself up with. I've had chronic back pain since I was a child and you develop strategies :p A lot of it involves sitting on the floor to do stuff rather than lifting... and making sure there is something to grab hold of and support yourself with if you want to move from one position to another. If you are any good at meditation or visualisation, you can use the techniques for pain relief. Have a surf, or PM me if you want more details...

Wishings coming your way. Problems of motivation are cyclical - just like energy. May be that you need to let go for a bit and take a break; or it may be that the things you are doing should not be done; or if they are things that should be done - have you imagined the large positive effect these will have on your life? Have you 'chunked' them? Force yourself to complete one important thing you have been avoinding and the motivation will start building.

I have been experimenting with some of this - under the influence of frogology and Tim Ferriss (btw there is another Tim Ferriss, a journalist and historian of science).

When faced with something one question I started asking is: Can I do something about this? If the answer is 'yes' it goes on the FROG list and gets rated (high rating eaten first). If the answer is 'no' it goes in the 'F it bucket'.

As to the wind - what can I say. Just give me time...
