Its a book that a few of us have read by Brian Tracey - in a nutshell its about deciding what the most important things you have to do at any time ........................ and then eating the biggest and ugliest one first with as much speed as possible.

OMG..can't print off hardcopies of any of the websites I want to show. Computer won't go on internet since I installed the new virus scanner, and the computer that will go online can't print. I can't believe it!

Who can you email them to who can print them for you?

Do you have a list of the websites/links that you can email to the interviewer e.g from your phone during the interview if they have a pc in the room?

Best justification for an ipad I have heard all day :p

    Great news greenbee! :T :T :T

Sunflower - DEEP BREATHS> You have had 3 hours sleep - everything will seem like a crisis. It isn't. Someone will be able to print for you, and if they can't, email the links to the interviewer. Lots and lots and LOTS of vibes at 2pm for you! :j :j :j

Claire - pah to jammed sewing machines, they really are SO frustrating! Don't pull anything too hard! (I learned that the hard way...) :p If your needles keep snapping do you need thicker ones? Or is your machine not designed for heavy duty sewing through layers of demin?

    Fingers crossed for DS1 MG! :T :T

After my successful meeting with line manager yesterday, project manager has emailed and requested an informal meeting to talk about how the project is going.... Methinks a little line-manager-shaped fairy may have had a word in her ear.......

Sunflower... deep breath sweetheart. You can sort this out. ~~~~~~positive calming vibes ~~~~~~

Prompted by finishing my portfolio, and the fact I am cheese off with my job at the moment, I have been doing a little bit of thinking about where I want my career to go in the medium to long term... and I have decided I might need to do a further qualification. Yes, I know. Am I a killer for punishment or what?! :D My portfolio hasn't even been marked and I am looking at the next hurdle. I have done some research, and come up with two places which do the qualification I want to do (MSc in Forensic Accounting - hopefully Distance Learning, but PT if necessary). I have even sent off an email to both places. I have some questions about their entry requirements, but seeing as Forensic Accounting is something that has always intrigued me... and in the end I want to set up my own consultancy business - so having forensic accounting experience is going to be a real selling point (not to mention possible income stream!) for any of my potential clients, I thought, no harm in finding out what it out there. Just because I am expressing an interest, does not mean I have to apply and pay my money over! :) I am so excited about it though. (Especially the distance learning option - it makes it possible to structure my study around my existing commitments.) Oh well. We shall see.

My brain is fizzing a bit today - sadly not on the topics I should be concentrating on though. So I am going to do a quick mind map of the things I need to do to get my business idea off the ground so I can let my brain stray back to what I should be doing! :)

    Lots of love to everyone.

LOL @ Greenbee... it is also a growth market in accountancy. And actually, I find quite a lot of my job interesting as well. I know... I need to get out more!! :D Actually, because numbers never came naturally to me, I really need to concentrate and engage my brain when I am at work. And I like that I need to do that. If I could do it easily, then it would be very dull, very quickly! :D

I'm not a natural numbers person either but when I was working I always found I actually had a deeper understanding of the numbers than people who could easily do the maths. I found I was uneasy until I had really mastered an analysis and then I had a feel for them and picked up on a lot of things that more numerate people glided over
It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!

Oooh Crickett, how exciting! :T So infectious when people get all enthusiastic about things in their lives and taking things forwards :T :T

Got all excited myself this morning - we're meant to be looking at potential new projects at work (even though I'm funded full time for the next 18 months - these things take a long time in the pipeline!). Anyway, was feeling a bit dispondant, then had a fab conversation with someone in a voluntary organsiation about something really worthwhile and interesting that we could potentially do, and I'm all excited again now! :T

Feel like post-phd energy is finally starting to kick in! :T :T
