    Thanks for the support everyone. I have a hatred of being measured... I was always measured at home, and then compared to my skinny minny sister... so weighing is actually the lesser of two evils. Although I am disappointed (and cross) I am not going to give up. I have 119 weeks to lose 112 pounds. I can do that. And I intend to do that. I just need to be focussed and not derailed by anything (stress, loneliness, need for security, general hangups) or anyone (hubby - bless him! He thinks it is a nice thing to have takeaway... but the food is rubbish and I can cook better so really, it is just laziness!). I need to make exercise just part of my day, like cleaning or feeding the cats. I am working on it, and getting there. Obviously there are going to be some days when I can't do the exercise I want to do (like today for example... leaving work, going for dinner, going to a choral concert) but with walking about and maybe taking the stairs now and again, it will all go towards the exercise.

    And if I say this long enough and loud enough, perhaps I will start to believe it?!

    *Crickett* A friend of mine is following a healty eating / lifestyle / weight loss program set for her by the nurse at the Dr's - and they only weigh her monthly! I also agree that inch loss is a better guide than lb loss. My weight has been stagnant now for about 6 weeks, but my waist, hips and thighs are still reducing!!!

    Well it just gets better, went back to docs in the last hour, lovely man that I havent seen before. Stuck me on a nebuliser (this will open up the old bronchials lovey lol). God, didnt it half. So am now rapidly breathing and coughing and spluttering.
    You just sit here and relax lovey. I'll be back to fetch you in 15 mins.
    Medication in nebuliser runs out, so I switch it off, unmask and wander back to the surgery. Doc had kindly forgotten about me. (sorry lovey).
    No only had it opened up the old bronchials, but every other bodily tube as well, pulse racing, heart racing, and coughing gunge from every orifice eeeewwwwwwwww. lol.
    And the lovely doctor thinks I have the onset of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (just googled this Emphysema in laymans terms:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:). And I have to go for a chest x-ray as soon as I'm able to get confirmation. Oh well, onwards and upwards.
    If it is COPD, it can be controlled. Anything else doesnt bear thinking about. The moral of this little gem, is if you smoke, STOP NOW>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> I have no one else but myself to blame. (feeling a little bit sorry for myself here).
    Its just another thing to deal with in the rich tapestry of life.
    Like the rest of it, its just something else to deal with.
    Sorry for the waffle, and thank you for the positive wotsits xxxxx

    Oh Fantasia...! I am so sorry to hear about that diagnosis...! (((((HUGS))))))

    ~~~~~~~~~~positive get well vibes for Fantasia and others feeling crook ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Just had lunch. In the grand scheme of things, it wasn't too bad. It wasn't good either. I thought I was doing the right thing by not having breakfast when I wasn't really hungry. So I left it until lunch time. And then went a little (but only a little) hogwild. So, since last night, I have eaten a blue berry muffin, a cheese and chive baguette and a bag of walkers crisps. I don't know why I ate the crisps because I don't like the way they taste, but i did anyway. Got to break that habit.
    Got meetings this afternoon (more costings! And then the dreaded team meeting... Urgh!) and then off to sit in a cafe waiting for hubby to arrive for the concert this evening. Looking forward to it. :) Right then... take care all. I might see you again today, but if I am too busy, I will see you all tomorrow! :D
    Have a great one! :D
    Fantasia: Sorry about your diagnosis. Hugs to you and get well vibes.
    Having a quick lunch break as I haven't stopped since 7.30. Only got my kitchen to give a quick wipe to, ironing and then will be ready for long weekend visit from old friend. Not much will get done then as we talk too much:j
    Hope everyone ok.
    Fantasia, great to see you posting but PAH to that diagnosis and a whole week of being ill. Now dont you go getting down on yourself here. You have stopped smoking and that might be why it is all coming out now. After all that YUK has to be flushed out somehow. I am sure that you will get back on the right track and that you can be treated. Be kind to yourself.
    I was going to ask if somebody could stop the merry go round cos I want to get off. Having one of those days but reading everybody's woes on here puts it all back into perspective. Deep breaths I am going back in!!!1
    Any one heard from Parsnip? Do we have an offshoot yet?
    Afternoon all
    Hugs to those feeling unwell. Fantasia I hope you will start feeling better soon.
    Crickett - Well done on the inch losses, you should be proud of what you have achieved.
    Clairewop. I hope the tooth is feeling better.
    Frozen chocolate, I don't get it. If it's too hard you can't shovell in down as quickly.;) To be honest I need to freeze the cheese before I turn yellow and oblong.
    No seedling popped out yet, though I thought it was on it's way at 4 this morning. Stubborn little devil.
    Have a nice day everyone. Enjoy the sun if you have it.
    Fantasia Sorry to hear you're poorly - let's hope that the tentative diagnosis you have so far is going to turn out to be over-cautious and that it's just a scare.
    Crickett Why are you focusing on numbers? Why do you have to weight yourself, or measure yourself? Do your clothes not tell you that you're toning up and getting healthier? If you dread weighing yourself, and measuring is even worse, then why put yourself through the stress. Tell you what, I bet that in your wardrobe you have a pair of trousers or a skirt that is just a smidge tight in the waistband? Take it out of the wardrobe, safety pin a note to the front with a date a fortnight away written on it, then leave the garment hanging, and on that date try it on, having carried on with the exercise and healthier eating - I BET it will fit you by then, and you'll have a concrete proof then of the fact that your body shape is improving. Repeat with the next garment that is slightly too tight until you've achieved what you want to! :D
    Cheri Count to 10!! Deep breaths, the day will be over all the quicker for being a bit manic....at least that's what I keep telling myself!
    Food: Lunch was a beef & horseradish roll (can you tell there was sliced beef on Tesco's reduced counter on Tuesday?!) followed by some melon & strawberries, a kiwi fruit, a nectarine and a banana. OH had given me an apple as well but that's still sitting on the desk as I'm stuffed now! My client offered me some of her chips and I said "no thanks", and actualluy didnt feel tempted. Salad for tea tonight I think. I'm also trying to work the odd exercise into the day - not easy when I'm working all day as I am this week (out from 7.30am - 7.30pm) but am managing with things like squats and standing press-ups while waiting for the kettle to boil! :DRemember also those of you who are on this road that working on your posture will make you look slimmer and feel better - it will also help with strengthening and toning your core muscles as you make them work harder!
