Afternoon Matrix. Had a good morning with my portfolio. Managed to make all the corrections I identified earlier in the week and got all my evidence tables together.

Then decided I had better look at what exactly I was required to do for my portfolio... and they only want more bits that the bits I have already done. :( So... I am currently taking a break from drafting my General Overall Reflection (or load of hogwash, if you prefer!) and trying not to get cross about it all. And I am now also having to work out my "learning goals and future career goals". Why the carp do they need to know that?! None of their flipping business, if you ask me! :( Oh, and I need to come up with a Continuing Professional Development Learning and Development Plan. Oh Stuff off. :( Of course, I will do it, and make it look pretty and all, but it does rather feel like needless administration. :(

Anyway... only 2.5 hours until home time!! YAY! Then 4 lovely days away from this hideous place. Can't wait!! If I don't get back... have a lovely bank holiday everyone.

That's great news FW. Enjoy your run... I'm very jealous. I'm now on day 3 of bed rest and seriously bored. Apparently I'll feel better on Monday or Tuesday, which seems a long way away right now!

    Tricia - fab post

    Bitsy - fab bag :)

Crickett - if you want to brainstorm ideas for the remaining bits, or to get some feedback on them, post them over the other side. Those who have done it before will probably have useful input, and the rest of us can ask the stupid questions :)

Greenbee, be good! And thinking about things to take to bed in similar situation these will be: laptop for light entertainment and fun; movies (similar) and good books.

FW - fantastic news, sooooo pleased for you (I can uncross my fingers now, lol)

Claire - hope the antibiotics kick in soon

I spoke too soon :( Had a horrible time at the hospital and am feeling quite sorry for myself......I went in expecting to hear how marvellously the top of the fibula is healing and was all bouncy and confident and smiley. Yes the top of my leg is healing very nicely, the consultant's not remotely bothered about that, but my ankle is in a very bad way, far too swollen, no way near enough movement, bones deteriorating yadda yadda yadda and the physio will need to readjust her plans for me, the consultant said "Remind her that you're not training for a marathon or mountain climbing, you just need everyday functionality of the joint". Oh and I may need some surgery soon to help prolong its life but in 10 years max. time, I'll need a new ankle :(

So, project new me starts now - I have to lose serious amounts of weight as it will help now and also for successful surgery. He's referring me to another consultant who specialises in feet and ankles and I'm starting googling for anything that might help - vitamins and minerals, diet, exercises, I want to confound medical science and last for 20-30 years (which was what I was expecting when I asked the 'how long has it got' question).

Sigh. Anyway, onwards and upwards I guess....sorry normal Kittikins positivity will be back soon, so long as I don't scare myself too much with my google searches, lol. Sometimes t'internet is a scary place!!

Just in and caught up - MMap is ready to be posted but first I need to eat and feed DS2.

Poor wee sould has had a busy week and fell asleep on his way home - he was a grump before so I left him to have his nap in the car. Which involved me parked around the corner walking up and down outside the car because I can't sit inthe car for any length of time.

So I am freezing and starving and sore ...................... but the MMap is done:j and so is the shopping so roll on the Chiropractor tomorrow:D

    Back later

    MG

PS Claire I though you might like a "Nice" Frog to eat for a change :D

FW good news on the biopsey results.

Kittikins - I read an article recently where it was saying at least in the US the age for replacement joints was getting dramatically younger for various reasons, in the article one reason was people chosing to elect for the treatment earlier because of the pain and lack of mobility, anyway, couldn't find a link to that but found a link to the video which covers part of the topic http://online.wsj.com/video/why-more-folks-under-70-are-getting-new-knees/92F78FB9-3C7E-45F0-BD68-1A846A6D0C3D.html I think you have to click on the pop up player button to make it work. Thought it might be some useful general info on the topic.

Someone has dropped off series 1 of Downton Abbey on DVD for me, and I'm reading trash as I can't concentrate for long.

Have just been looking up travel options for my next trip... trying to fit in rail travel where possible (might work to get out to Vienna, doesn't work Vienna to Lausanne, works Lausanne to Milan, doesn't work Milan to Munich, might work Munich to home...) as the flights are all pretty unhelpful given our schedule.

Might have a sleep now, after using my brain so much :p

Another late check-in for me today:

    Tricia - absolutely brilliant post

Firewalker - great news about biopsy :j

    Greenbee - enjoy your sleep

Kittikins - hugs and look after yourself

Bitsy - love, love, love the bag

MG - good news on the MM & freedom fund. Good luck for tomorrow at chiropracter

Crickett - keep jumping through the hoops, it will be done soon

Sorry if I have missed anyone but much love to all.

Here at Thrifty Towers in my purple painter and decorator's outfit with red paint splashes on, the first coat of paint has gone on the coving. Took ds out for a walk today to his favourite cafe - fab time was had by both of us. Dd has gone out for first date with new boyfriend - gcse's what gcse's. Next on list is to make a chicken curry for tea - ooooh I do love my curries.

    Later my lovelies, xxx

MMap gone - and DS2 and I have a great hour out with wellies and puddles.

So much better mood after a nap.

DS1 just lost a tooth (still losing baby teeth at 10 years 9 months) so I guess the tooth Fairy will have to pay a visit - LOL
