Memorygirls - The Matrix Re-inspired

Bitsy, it's really good - esp for a first attempt. Looks very neat and professional!
What do you mean you "might" get paid Souk? Are they not reliable?
I am quite excited - 4 hours til lunch time (yes, I am at work at 7am), then a birthday lunch celebration (not mine), and a 3.5 day weekend
I am meeting up with a friend from school this afternoon - not seem him since I was 15, but we lost touch due to school committments (good old Facebook)
Anyway, he was hit by a van when he was child, and he should have died. Somehow he survived, and although he's very disabled, it never killed his intelligence or sense of humour.
Sadly, he's coming by train, but his wheelchair is so big, he has to sit in the bike store
So, I think I will buy him a coffee and have a good chat this afternoon..
Might be around this weekend, not sure - if not, have a good bank holiday weekend, and see you on Tuesday xxx0 -
Tricia - I hope Marru prints that off and laminates it - fabby!!!!
Do you think that's what we look like to visitors to the thread????? OMG!!! I kinda hope so:D
I have packed all my MM pens, pencils, rubbers, rulers and blank paper - with the outline MM and the book.
Just got to find a card-backed envelope and address it to the Media Company and then I am going to let the ideas simmer for a couple of hours - I'm hoping to scrounge the conservatory in St A to work in for a couple of hours and rattle this one out.
Extra invoice to swiftly follow :T
My Mum has booked a carpet cleaner for Saturday and is going to do my Livingroom floor whilst I am at the Chiropractor. It is a 24 hour hire - so in the spirt of MSE - anyone close need the use of a carpet cleaner????
Boys are stirring - off to feed the hoardes

Tricia - fabulous, I'm sitting here chuckling and mentally ironing my purple dress in readiness
Good morning Matrix, I'm buzzing at the prospect of another day, yes a Friday, woo hoo!! Yesterday was great - I had my first physio appointment for my dodgy leg and the physio was in turn amazed, disgusted, saddened etc etc by the rubbish treatment I had all those years ago and at how little movement I have had for the last 11 or so years. It's her mission to give me lots of painful exercises and work with me with the aim of letting me do lunges, squats, run marathons - heck, I'd be happy if I could bend my knees and get down to the ground (I can currently bend down about 3 inches!)!! I'm up for the challenge
I'm going to the hospital to hopefully be told that my leg is healing marvellously and they don't need to see me again about my leg - double fingers crossed for that, and that it won't take all flipping day to be seen like it did last time!
Yesterday I had gorgeous beany pasta salad for lunch, far too much bread and marmite later, and then leftover pasta bake from the freezer and YS sweetcorn for dinner. The pasta bake had lots of cheese on.....but I didn't crave it, just thought darn it, I need the space in the freezerI have found though that when in Tesco's yesterday I wasn't 'tempted' by things that I usually would be, so am sure my head is getting where I want it to be
Hopefully today will be a less carb-loaded day! Muesli, soya yoghurt and banana for brekkie, might take some fruit to the hospital to keep me going
MG - I'd love to borrow the carpet cleaner, shame I'm a wee bit too far away, my living room carpet needs a darned good scrub (well replacement really, but that won't happen for a few years, not whilst DD and OH, okay and occasionally me, spill drinks on it on a regular basis!!). How lovely of your mum to do that for you0 -
Memory_Girl wrote: »- Neil Diamond on telly this evening. I know he's not trendy, but one of the best shows I ever worked as a follow-spot operator was his and I have been a Secret Fan ever since. Brilliant, brilliant showman.
I agree - went to see him on a central stage some years ago and although I know he moved around it felt like he was facing our part of the arena all the time and felt totally involved. I am sure everyone else felt the same so the way it was manged must have been brilliant though I am not sure how it was done.
My sister loves him and she is ten years younger than me, we are going to see him in Birminghamj at the end of next month, really looking forward to it.
And he is due to be interviewed on breakfast tv this morning, Frankie Vallli too, another favourite of mine
Tricia what a fantastic post - I will wear purple today in its honour ( not that I need much of an excuse to wear purple)
Wemt out to dinner yesterday, and healthy eating went out the window somewhat, but it was a celebration and will compensate today. Going to a 30th birthday party tomorrow away from home so hope everyone has a good weekend.0 -
Memory_Girl wrote: »Each Section - for example "Exotics - Avians" or "Farm - Sheep" has a seperate booklet of lecture notes. She took each booklet and a pad of post-its and then went through her booklet sticking a post-it at the beginning of each new Mind Map section (5-7 little sections per Mind Map only)
Having gone through ALL of her lecture notes she came to the total.
Divide and conquer - chunk it down to lots of little bits and then start nibbling away.

Duly noted: I shall divide and conquer on Monday.
Thanks MG! :TPlease call me 'Pickle'

Thanks for the thanks (IYSWIM). My slightly twisted imagination has got me through a few similar situations. I hope Marru will be able to visualise us and so be able to summon up a smug smile when she faces him!
Bitsy : What a great bag. That's a great design and a fantastic first go. I've bookmarked the site as it looks worth a read and I think DD1 would like one of those.
Kittikins : I'm another with a long term dodgy knee and you've inspired me to find a GOOD physio - like you, any improvement would be worth having so do let us know how you go on.
Claire : I do hope your tooth is a bit easier this morning. Would you consider going to the dental hospital anyway? Because you have a lot of pain on a day to day basis, you probably have a high pain threshold and the dentist will not realise just how bad it is.
Foodwise, yesterday I had just one slice of toast at breakfast, some fruit mid morning, 2 rice cakes with a hard boiled eggs and tomatoes for lunch. I did have some Doritos at about 6 pm and then we had rissoto with left over chicken, left over veg and bottom of the fridge mushrooms. The stock was left over from yesterdays casserole so no nasty additives anywhere
Today may be another matter because we are travelling home so sandwiches will up the bread consumption as I've run out of salad ingredients. But how can you know what you want till you get what you want and you see if you like it?0 -
Bitsy: that bad looks AMAZING! I shall have to dig out some nice material and make one as well.
I have some lovely ceramic kitten buttons: if it's plain enough, I could put them on.
Oh, anyone got a pattern for a satchel? They are soooo in at the minute! Please call me 'Pickle'

Oh Tricia - I think I love you :rotfl:
If you ever publish anything please do let me know, I am first on the line.
I am ok today. As I said yesterday in the mornings I am always fine. And going to adapt attitude of que sera.
Second last day at work before the big and scary YE!! If it goes like yesterday I will be doing some studying. I have already been told off for not being available for long days next week due to half term arrangements. I will still be working the same hours than normally, just a bit earlier in the day. What do they expect, my status of being single mother hasn't changed since I joined the company. So I think this smiley is appropriate:
And Bitsy - I am soooo chuffed for you"Everything will be alright in the end. If it's not alright, it's not the end."

I will be printing it out, put it in my file and every time I see it I will have this mysterious calm smile on my face "Everything will be alright in the end. If it's not alright, it's not the end."
