Well got woken up about 5 am - by SILENCE !!!! when the storm had blownitself out.

last night somewhere they weren't planning. I'm pretty sure FW is home anyway so apart from her and Pyschopathbabble I hope we are all accounted for.

    MG

I am home but I was supposed to go tomorrow. And some people have managed somehow to get to Iceland (people who are attending my meeting). Please pray that all will be shut so I don't have to go and spend another nightmare like the one before Christmas. (And my employer can reclaim the cost of the ticket, of course).

    Happy birthday Claire. :T

If no one minds, I would like to join in with the 'getting lean and fit'.

I lost a couple of stone and got to where I wanted to be (between 10 stone 5 and 10 stone 10lb. Then went back up to 13 stone 2lb.:eek: There were various factors which don't apply now so off we go again.

I'm aiming to lose 5lb to start with so I break the 13 stone barrier. I have no intention of 'going on a diet'. I know where I have to cut back - bread, cheese and wine! It's a tossup whether cheese or wine will be the hardest but, given that wine is empty calories, bread and wine will have to be and the first to tackle. Real exercise is out of the question as I have osteoarthritis but I have started Tai Chi and wear a pedometer to spur me on to walk farther each day.

We're still in Shropshire in the caravan and off to Much Wenlock for a wander as it is supposed to be fine . . . but the clouds are gathering again so I will have to wave my Tilley hat at them and scare them away.
But how can you know what you want till you get what you want and you see if you like it?

Happy Birthday Claire - Hope you have a lovely day!

FW - Will pray for the closure of airports, just hope you were not booked with R***A**. they are complaining that all airspace should be open and all flights on but I get the feeling it is more to do with money than the safety of passengers.

Triciaxx - Good luck with your healthy eating plan, I am sure you will get lots of tips and encouragement from the others who are doing the same. Personally, I am lean (skinny!) but not so fit, so I will be trying to work out a way to get fitter but not lose any weight.

Nope not a clue what your on about MG lol, bit thick when it comes to instructions, I need to be shown, rather than read IYSWIM.

If I read it correctly MG sews her quilt with the right sides of the fabric face to face (so the wrong sides of the fabric are on the outside) and leaves a gap to turn the item the right way round again and slip stitches the gap closed. Make sense?

Happy birthday Claire, have a wonderful day :D x

Not much to report here, feeling a wee bit sad as prognosis for my mums cat that was hit by a car on Friday isn't looking very good. Parents will be making a decision after speaking to the Vet today with regards to continuing her care :(
So my plans for today consist of a bit of housework and then going to keep my mum company, hopefully DD can distract her a tiny bit.

Not done so well with the mindful eating last few days, been comfort eating a bit and been eaing due to tiredness. Will do much better today, I just remind myself every time I slip up it's not the end of the world and as long as I acknowledge where I went wrong I can take steps next time to avoid it happening again. Failure is a means of learning, success not so much.
With regards to to the talk of Sat Fat I would like to point out that a certain amount of fat is required to affect your saiety (sp?) levels. We now have a generation of people getting fat on low fat products. My H is a great one for thinking because something is low fat he can eat twice as much of it ;)
Watched a programme on BBC about Bariatric Ambulance service, if that isn't enough to motivate you to stay a healthy weight I don't know what is.

    Have a great day everyone.

Well we survived the storm yesterday - it were a bit breezy :D

Everyone's sounding chipper today. Today's plan, is yes you've guessed it, more painting - the final wall and maybe, the undercoat for the woodwork. Best shake a leg. Later peeps.

Eta: (((hugs))) for your Mum Bitsy.

:bdaycake:Happy Birthday Claire, hope you get spoiled rotten :) :bdaycake:

Thanks for the crisps info  I bought them because they were soooo cheap for a multipack, but guess I know why now! Oh well.....Breakfast was toast and a banana soyamilk shake :) Yesterday I was rather hungry after my pure fruit breakfast, so I'm hoping that I'll have fewer snacks as milkshake tends to fill me up and the toast was scrumptious sunflower and linseed bread. Lunch will be remains of the stirfry from last night and salad. Dinner is going to be Linda McCartney sausages either in a beany cassoulet (and OH can have his gluten-free meaty ones) or sausages with haricot bean garlicky mash....Decisions, decisions! I'm only going to snack on fruit and nuts today, realised I had actually had some 85% dark chocolate yesterday as well, oops!!

1st day at new job was good, but boy do I ache, have been sitting on my bahookie in an office for 3 years apart from the housekeeping job I did for 6 months, and yesterday was delivery day at the shop.
So loads of bending and stretching and moving muscles I had forgotten I existed.

On a good note when I worked at the shop the 1st time I went from a size 14 to an 8 in six months, just eating normally and all the physical stuff, so am looking for a weight drop over the next while also. Am reasonably fit with all the dog walking but still stuck at size 12, and looking to shrink back to what I am naturally, in a healthy fashion of course. Size 8 here I come, yay.

I'm feeling loads better over other issues also. Can't believe that everything has come together for me. (thank you Universe). This positivity stuff does work. I know that now, and am starting to have a little more faith in myself.

Positive vibes to all who need them, have a great day xxxxxxxxx

Sew through all three layers of patchwork, backing and wadding all together, then trim back the wadding to the stitching line and turn through.

Although the last time I did this I overlocked right round so didn't need to trim.
