So glad to hear the school visit went well MG - good call sorting it out as it sounds like it has really put his mind at rest.

Busy busy busy at the office today - have now had tea and am just relaxing in front of the speedway on Sky Sports. Once that's finished in a few minutes I'll get on with doing some odds and ends round here.

Tea was the planned crab salad, with some croutons made from the end of the loaf and fried in just a little oil, the dressing was low fat mayo with lemon juice and smoked hot paprika. I had the packet of crisps I didn't eat at lunchtime with that too. Pudding was a big plate of fruit - melon, strawberries, a banana and a kiwi fruit all chopped up. Nom nom! I calculate that I have had 10 of my 5 a day today! :rotfl: Not had the chance for any proper waloking today but did ten minutes walk each way to and from the car at a good pace, and took the chance for some heel lifts while standing at the photocopier! :D Must have done some good as my calves were feeling it!

I honestly need to thank you ladies for all your support on the healthy eating thing - I've tried several times over the past few years to do this but have ended up just self sabotaging and losing motivation within a few days at the most. This time I feel I can stick with it and actually achieve something - fingers crossed! Knowing that if I blow it I have to confess to you lot is proving to be just the incentive I need to stay on the straight & narrow!

Just back from psychometric tests: seemed to go OK, although I didn't quite finish 2/3 sections and left the odd question. 14 of us have been interviewed for 2 positions and I should hear back off them sometime relatively soon.

I'm just tucking into a nice glass of pinot grigio and have a ton of homework to do. And my interview blouse was a bit tight, so I think I'm going to have to give this healthy eating lark a go! :( :A

Onwards and sideways to college homework...*sings* the gluteus maximus's connected to the adductor magnus, the...

Not sure about mixing wine and homework. My answers could get very interesting! :rotfl:

Lunch - homemade bottom of the fridge soup with blackeyed beans, slice of bread and hummous with tomato on top :) banana
Snack- tesco value packet of crisps (so very tiny, that's my excuse ;) ), divinely tasty raw vegan bar - cashews, dates, cocoa, ginger
Dinner - stir fry veg and left-over vegan sausage with lots of chilli sauce, nomnomnom

I'm trying hard now not to have another snack but it's 9:30pm, I don't really need one, not hungry, just feel I "should" :( Anyway, I will text OH and go up to bed to get away from the fridge!

wild and windy here until about 4 then the sun came out. Mad busy at work and only sat down in the last hour.
Claire - intrigued will try to pop over the other side.

Pickle I agree with Greenbee. Go for the interview, ask any questions (but not the wage one). When they offer you the job they will advise what the wage is, if they offer less than you are prepared to work for point out what you earn now and say that you had applied on the grounds that it was advertised at £18k. If they want you they may negotiate the wage. That is if you decide you want to take it.

Thanks for the advice. Tonight was just psychometric tests. The interview is to follow based on the results. 14 candidates, 5 interview positions, 2 roles. Stiff enough competition, but not as insurmountable as another particular job I have applied for. I shall have to see what the results of the tests are: I've not had much time to get my head around any of this as I've had less than 24 hours from hearing about the interview to getting it, so we shall see.

Well got woken up about 5 am - by SILENCE !!!! when the storm had blownitself out.

Today is shiny blue skies and hazy clouds and a gentle breeze - Icelandic ash to follow shortly.

The garden has mostly survived - some bean wigwams need to be reconstructed and there are random pots flung around whch I will get DS1 to rescue later. At least the plants are OK - but then being so far north they are still pretty tiny.

Scotlands airports are shut I hear - and after most of our bridges yesterday being shut too I fear there are a lot of people who spent last night somewhere they weren't planning. I'm pretty sure FW is home anyway so apart from her and Pyschopathbabble I hope we are all accounted for.

    Morning All,
Hope those of you north of the border are all safe and well. Other than wind we've not had anything in very parched East Anglia - a very small amount of rainy yesterday evening, just a dampening.

I ordered the party stuff on Sunday afternoon and it's arrived this morning:jthat is amazing service.

Got to go get dressed and finish the spare room, well at least create more room for sofa bed. I've still got my neices surplus stuff that she didn't need for uni. Some of it went across the road yesterday(B.I.L's house and her home) and hopefully I can get the rest shifted shortly.

    Catch up later.

    Morning all :)

Yesterday's food was cereal for breakfast and a bourbon biscuit for a snack, boss bought some and I tried to resist :( Lunch was going to be a chicken & piccalilli roll with an apple but just as I got to the kitchen area the uneaten sales team buffet was brought in, there was LOADS! So I had egg, coronation chicken, duck, brie & cranberry & smoked salmon mini rolls/wraps/sandwiches & some fruit :( opps. Still a free lunch :) Dinner was veggie sausages with salad & potato wedges.

Still I aim to be better today :)

Good luck to everyone who needs it and hope you all have productive days.

Ohh just seen the news, hope all affected by the storms/volcanic ash are ok! x
