Hey Dora, hope you are plodding with style as only a Matrixette could do :) Hugs if you need them.

Thanks - mainly plodding - but plodding means no crisis either so happy enough plodding :) Positive vibes for tomorrow's hospital trip (hosepipe and buckets investigation) would be appreciated though

:rotfl::rotfl: love that description Dora. Plodding is good sometimes. I am plodding too at the moment so I guess I am in good company.

Positive vibes for tomorrow will be winging there way over.

I think the fresh air yesterday knocked everyone for 6. We were all in bed early and the boys are still asleep:D

Hopefully my carpet will arrive today - I have checked and the money has definitely cleared from my account - in fact lots of things have cleared from my account and it is looking very sadly depleted  But all budgeted for so although its squeaky it should be doable.

    Main stuff for the day:

Pack equipment for tomorrows 121 and stash in car.
    Take delivery of carpet
Repot my tomatoes - they are looking a little bit root bound.

.............. then I have a pile of writing that needs a quick edit and file.

Parentals are coming to sort out the car booty on Saturday Morning - so fingers crossed that what they don't want to take finds its way to the Charity Shop or skip. Then I can gethe carpet fitter in on Monday to lay the new carpet :j

Morning MG and the rest of the Matrix.

I am sitting at work, surrounded by empty desks. People on leave, cowbag at some kind of maternity related appointment so she is going to work from home today (hooray!! :D) and i am earlier than usual! :D

Got quite a bit going on - including a visit from some VIPs. Not only is the Chancellor of the University coming today, but a special guest, Sir David Attenborough, is coming to open the building i work in. Rumour has it that he might be coming up to the 9th floor where I work to have a peer at the Peregrine chicks which have recently hatched. So, cue lots of managers flapping about telling their teams to tidy their desks and workspaces up. Yeah, yeah, yeah. :D Anyway... I put on a nice dress and my desk is spruced up nicely. Just going to eat my breakfast trifle (Stewed rhubarb, yogurt and muesli. Num! :) ) and then get on with the day.

I have a meeting this morning and then I have booked the afternoon for Portfolio duties. I am not looking forward to that bit, but I just have to get on and chomp that frog for once and for all! It is really getting somewhere though. It really is just one section to write and then the finishing touches to put to things. I can see the end of the tunnel!! :D If it wasn't for this thread and you lovely people the portfolio would still be languishing at the bottom of my work cupboard! :D So, thank you, all of you.

Right... time to get on. See you later all, and have a lovely, positivity filled day!

Hosepipes and buckets don't sound too pleasant:eek::eek::eek:. Positive vibes heading your way - hope it goes well.

Off to get a few bits this am - a new light to go over the sink and a few bits from the supermarket. Would like to potter in the garden after lunch - need to pot up a few plants and tidy the front garden. DH is decorating at the moment so house is a bit chaotic just now. Shouldn't take too long so I should be able to restore a bit of order soon.

    You lot inspire me daily.

    RANDOM LIST

DS1 is starting to think of places things he would like to do in his "gap year" :rotfl:

    So far:

He would like to learn about Shakespeare ( so if anyone has any on tape / DVD that they can lend him to watch that would be fabulous) He can pay for postage himself now BTW :D

He would like to go and see a play at The Globe in London.

He would like to visit "The Giants Causeway" as part of his Geography Studies.

He is also desperate to learn to cook more - so he wants to learn how to cook one new dish per week (which I am all for cos I figure by the time he goes to HS he could be cooking 2 dinners a week :rotfl:)

So suggestions for a list of 52 dishes would be wonderful.

Big Frog for us today - we are setting up our Blogs (DS1 and I) so will keep you posted.

How about a trip to Stratford Upon Avon? Royal Shakespeare Company, Anne Hathaway's Cottage etc et al? Also, watch the video of West Side Story, which is a retelling of Romeo and Juliet (with some rather smashing show tunes courtesy of Leonard Bernstein! :D) Oh, and I just found this on amazon!

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Shakespeare-Kids-His-Life-Times/dp/1556523475/ref=sr_1_10?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1305703961&sr=1-10

Hope that helps (from someone who memorised Mark Antony's famous soliloquy from Julius Cesar for FUN at the age of 10... everyone else used to do it as a punishment from our very cool teacher, Mr Capstick)

Are you a downloader MG? There's plenty of stuff around... USENET, bittorrent etc... (obviously bearing in mind legalities :))

The latest Hamlet's a bit scary though, watch with caution...

The Globe is amazing. We went on a school trip in the 6th Form. Just wonderful. Saw Hamlet (as that was the book the exam was on!) - he took ALL of his clothes off. Quite a thrill for a naive 17 yr old TMIF!
