Just found a pic of one of the dining room chairs we upholstered too - sewing by me, stapling onto the chair a joint effort (mostly brute strength from Mr S!)

Totally loving the idea of making shopping bags from cotton vests. Think I might go looking for some cheap and cheerful ones today sometime. I could embellish them with a quotation or some embroidery or something and then give them as presents with things inside them. Lovely, lovely idea! :)

Came to work this morning with a banging headache, and have kind of managed to get rid of it. Going to take some extra painkillers to make sure it stays away though. Doing work work rather than Portfolio work today, though I am going to sneak some of that in if I can later in the day. Have a list as long as my arm of things to do at home. It includes getting the cat boxes down from the loft in readiness for taking the furry ones to the vet tomorrow night. All three of them. All at once. Oh dear. I shall be deeply unpopular at home then! :( Still, its for their own good, regardless of what they think!

Right, best get back to it then. Hope people are having a wonderful positive day.

We just took off one of the old covers and used it as a pattern... sewed together then much pulling, stretching and persuading to get it tight over the chair. .then staple-gunned onto the wood underneath (definitely a two person job that bit to hold the fabric tight and staple) - hardest bit was folding in the corners at the bottom to get them neat.

:T:T:T Well done Squizz - "this" is what I want to get into when I've finished my painting marathon - to turn our house into a beautifully decorated palace - all on pennies of course.

You know that quote aout "sometimes you are the dog - sometimes you are the lampost" - just call me a lampost today:D

150 books packed - think 3 crisp-boxes full. Couldn't find the tape so spent ages looking.

Fought with the printer to print off suitable labelling (it kept whinging that it had no ink - but kept on printing VERY black print labels so its not getting fed until I absolutely have to)

Couldn't find the blessed tape again - so spent ages searching for it again:mad:

Got all three boxes down three flights of stairs - out through the garden and into the car :T - eased myself into the car .................................................... FLAT BATTERY!!!!!

Hauled boxes out of the car and into the baby buggy - pretty darn awkward ................ to discover that without any juice in the battery the car wouldn't lock:(

PUshed buggy up hill and down dale to the Post Office (must be pension day as it was out the door with Old Dears).:o

You think they had never sent parcels before - cos it took them 20 minutes to sort out the consignment making me late for picking up DS2 - so I sent DS1 over to the playgroup to sit with him for five minutes.

But WE ARE HOME!!!! Parcels are on the way so I can raise the invoice this afternoon.:j

Now need to sort out the car problem - but look on the bright side, it happened on a day I didn't have to be anywhere urgently (like my 121 on Thursday for instance) so no harm, no foul.

............... I now NEED coffee and a five minute rest, them maybe some lunch for the boys and me.

    Here's to a calmer afternoon :D

WOW Squizz fantastic chair, Mine all need re doing orr at least cleaning lol, they are looking very sorry for themselves.

Well I have cut 2 aprons out of the blue curtain material and 4 x 4" squares out of the scrap, but still have a length of scrap I can cut 4" squares from, but it is hard work measuring each one with a ruler and cutting them lol. So giving my arm a rest before I cut more.

Oh not good then MG. Can you get someone to bump start it?? (I know nothing about cars by the way, so that might sound really dumb to someone who does) can you bump start a car with a flat battery??
