Oh dear MG! Not your day. Mind you easily fixed by a neighbour who can jump start yours from theirs presumably.

Squizz The chair and bags look fab - I just assumed you'd done the handles that way for a reason.....it's a design feature, not a mistake! :D

Been pretty productive round here this morning - washing all sorted, washing up mostly done (one tray soaking in very hot water at the moment) and a load of Avon stuff done - returns are a nightmare at the moment as they killed the returns system when they put the new e-sales suite online, so we're having to do the forms manually which is a pain. The bathroom is getting the main brunt of my attentions today - the sink and toilet have been sprayed with white vinegar/stardrops solution and I've just popped in here while that does its work, then it's getting on with that until my "lunch break" at 1pm. Just ticked off the stuff I'd done so far on my To Do list and my morning so far has certainly had an impact! :D

Oh dear MG, what a day!

Yes.. a design feature.. of course :D This is all making me want to sew some bits again - got fabric for a dress but not been brave enough to tackle it yet. MG - any news on the pattern you were talking about a while back?

Oh not good then MG. Can you get someone to bump start it?? (I know nothing about cars by the way, so that might sound really dumb to someone who does) can you bump start a car with a flat battery??

You CAN, but if the car has a Catalytic converter it's not advisable as bump-starting can damage them. (If you don't know, if it's newer than about 15 years old it almost certainly does, as I understand it). Jump starting via leads from another car battery, or (better still) a truck or van battery (higher voltage) or booster pack is the better option. Having said that, if you're on a hill, facing the right way (bump-starting in reverse isn't advisable!) then the path of least resistance by far is to bump start and take the risk! :D

Quite typically I am parked facing up the street so can't bump start it - I will keep an eagle eye opne for a likely looking man from opposite and do the "dumb blonde" bit later on though.

Who will be the lucky man - the joiner, the electrican or the landscape gardener - LOL

Hmmm that's the annoying thing about cars they always cost you more money <rollseyes>
thankfully my dad is a qualified mechanic so he's always my angel in diguse when it comes to the car <insert lucky b*gger icon> Mind you I am dreading the day when he'll be too old to help me, I think a crash course in car mechanics (aside from the usual oil dipstick test etc) ought to be on the cards

EH - never knew that about the CAT converter. Mind you not on a hill here so don't fancy trying to push the car AND pop the clutch too all on my own in a dire circumstance :rotfl:

Love the bags and the chairs Squizz.
And the vest idea is fantastic Bitsy.

Done a load of ironing and made some cupcakes and cookies so that I don't need to go to the shops. It is 55p for a small biccie where OH works, so he has started taking in his own. As I have the ingredients in then it is even better to make them here.

Going to have a late lunch and plan out some birthday cards I need to make, so that I know what I am doing when I get in the loft.

Afternoon all. Busy bee here, stopped for lunch and did a 15 minute whizz around the kitchen. Quick question for you fab homemakers. I have an oilcloth table cloth now and I love it. Problem, when taking lime pickle out of the dish last night, managed to drop some on the cloth. It seems to be stained yellow.I have scrubbed it and no way is it moving. Any tips for removing stains from oilcloth?

Still allowing myself another half hour for lunch so I might just mix up some hobnobs.

Sorry Cheri no idea, try oxiclean

Well I now have 18 blue squares out of what was left from a curtain, and 14 squares from the scraps of the winnie the pooh material, My arms are killing now, So I think I will treat myself to a rotary cutter and quilting ruler. Will make the cutting squares a lot easier and faster too.

Need to rest my arm now for a bit, before I crack on and do anymore.

DS1 and I have been in the garden - with DS2 "helping too". DS2's idea of helping today was to put various pieces of greenery in the lids from the coke bottles we are using for cloches and then presenting these little "plates" to his pet snail.

Now every other snail has been lobbed into the wildnerness garden that is the pub next door - but this one is special and called "Snailey" ........ trust me Snailey will be relocated later ;)

So today we have planted out, Yellow Beans, Broad Beans, Mangetout, Pak Choi, Lettuce, Parsely, - OH! and about 60 leeks:eek: which is about half of the pot we inherited. I think we will be eating them small and tender.

IT looks like a proper wee garden - and of course we are planting up so that Grandad can see that we are short on space - which we are. I haven't even got a clue where the tomatoes and courgettes etc are going to go:D

Sorry for those not into gardens - but DS1's enthusiasm is catching.
