Hey MG. Good news on the carpet. I am sure that you will be in your room. Aim to be in there on the night of your birthday as a special treat to yourself. What do you need to do to get in there? Maybe list all of the big jobs and then aim to concentrate on one thing per week. So for example - painting in week 3 break it down to things like prepping one day, glossing one day, emulsion one day. Then have a full on day for pretties!

I am, as I type, taking a break from my room of doom. I have been in there for 2 hours and I have managed to relocate everything that was in there to other rooms and the loft. This will all need relocating again but I am determined that I will make that room habitable by the end of the weekend. I am so fed up of living in a three bedroom house and only having one bedroom functioning. One room is my study for working from home and I cant change that but I am eating the frog of the room of doom today. I just thought on I should have taken before and after photos. Oh well. First cake and tea. Then the next two hours will be spent with my feather duster getting rid of cobwebs, hoovering, mopping, laying a carpet, moving beds in putting up a lampshade and moving some stuff back into the room so that I can locate my own bed this evening.

Fab news MG, you'll be in there before you know it!

Well done Claire, you're off the blocks :T

You've achieved a lot today Cheri, well done :D

Thanks Been, still eating cake at the moment. It is amazing what I achieve when Mr C goes to visit his parents. I used to have a spotless house when I lived alone. Since living with Mr C (who likes to keep things) I spend too much time out and about or listening to music and putting things off.

Woo Hoo Clooties Mum :j:j:j How long for?

Great news on the carpet MG - ooh yes, a birthday drink in your new boudoir :D.

Well done on the apron sale Claire and your room of doom Cheri :T.

This afternoon has been the ironing for me - just got a king-size duvet cover and bottom sheet left to do. Whatever possessed me to buy egyptian cotton sheets - perishing in winter, crease in the blink of an eye and a b*gger to iron. That'll teach me trying to be posh :rotfl:.

    Hugs to all, Thriftyxxx

Thanks TSL - just off for a week but still - it's a whole week...:j:j

DH is working tomorrow so we're going down to the caravan on Monday for a few days R & R.
Went shopping today to buy food for the week (& still wonder how the heck MG can make £100 last about 40 days) but I think we'll take this week to take stock of things & draw up some firm plans between us as DH is really down at the moment & I think we need to be working towards something other than the grave.
I might even persuade him to go to a doctor....I've diagnosed him with a PTSD/depression type thing & have decided he needs happy pills. I'd like the doctor to confirm my diagnosis though :p:p

Anyhow - I hear the neighbours so I'm going to charm them to put the bins out this week with some free range eggs:D

MG well done on the carpet :)

Claire well done on the sale :)

    Clootie enjoy your hols :)

Cheri well done on tackling room of doom lol

I had a wee kip this afternoon and felt more recharged so put vac round and mopped floors. Just finished watering veg. Looks like my onions I grew from seed have been a failed experiment :( next time I shall stick to onion sets. And one of my courgettes hasn't been thriving so I need to germinate another asap.

Off out with my lovely preggy friend (who needed all your lively vibes for her little miracle) so looking forward to talking babies :o
    Have a pleasant evening everyone.

Lots getting done today! :T :T Me and mum have tackled the garden - looking much better although will still need LOTS doing - but at least we've broken the back of the weeding, ad been to Wickes and the garden centre and bought all we need to build the new wall :T :T I WILL be sitting outside on my new little patio thing very soon! :j :j :j :j

Absolutely exhausted now :rotfl: and wishing we had three baths so we could all have one without having to wait for the water to heat up 3 times (or twice - don't mind sharing water with Mr Daffs, but not my mother :rotfl:)
