  • 40% off is a better saving than buy 2 get third free
  • If you are a tesco clubcard saver you could be earing 1,500 points on a £50 wine order, giving you £60 in deal vouchers!

therefore if you were saving for something specefic you could get your wine for free.

See Tesco code thread for details of points codes.

Where is the Tesco Clubcard Points Code list that what was referred to earlier - I am specifically interested in the 1500 points for £50 wine spend

    Thanks

Be warned - some Threshers are creating their own rules for this voucher.

Went in this afternoon to my local branch - wanted 3 bottles of wine (one admittedly Ginger Wine - didn't expect that one to go through though and I was right) - but also, I was told it was only on purchases in multiples of 6 - could be 6 different wines, but you had to buy in 6s.

We don't really drink - my purchases were for presents - so I bought the Ginger with my last Bonusbond voucher, and will go to Tesco for the rest as advised in this thread.

  • Yep, my local Thresher is also imposing a minimum of 6 bottles to be purhased for this offer! The shopkeeper held up a piece of paper - an email from head office.

Can they do this given that they told Martin they would honour the offer. The voucher mentions nothing of a minimum purchase so can they change the rules afterwards?!
  • I got 40% a nice £10 bottle of Rioja so hah.

    What’s the deal?

This is a Christmas cracker of a deal! Threshers (and others in the group; Wine Rack, Bottoms Up, Haddows, The Local) is offering a whopping 40% off all wine and champagne if you print out a voucher and take it in store between 30 Nov. and 10th Dec.

So I've grabbed the voucher and put it on the site so you can download it.

It can be used on any spend up to £500 though not in conjunction with buy two get the third free offers.

    Is it a good deal?

If you're going to buy at Threshers, it's a stonker of a deal. Yet of course 40% off Threshers prices doesn't automatically make it cheapest, so it's worth comparing the Threshers discounted price to, for example, the normal cheap supermarket price to ensure you're really saving cash.

To find other cheap deals there are a number of websites that help.... see the comparison links at the bottom of the 'Shopping Section'

    Is it legit?

I first heard about this offer when a friend naughtily forwarded this voucher they'd received via their work; I checked the forums and unsurprisingly it was here too (the post below) - yet as the voucher wasn't meant for the general public, I didn’t know if Thresher would honour the discount.

However after a chat Threshers has kindly given permission for me to put the offer on the site, and allow anyone who wants to print the voucher and and use it! Hoorah!

UPDATE: Know any decent Thresher wines?

Many people are asking "what are the good Threshers buys?", well Money Saving is my thing, not wine, so if you find a decent buy or can recommend a good wine at Threshers, please add it to the discussion below (just click reply)
tried at threshers in bridport in dorset, they are insisting the offer is only for businesses, potential big spenders , yet there is no minimum purchase , only a £500 maximum. will try at a more enlightened branch next week.

This is a joke I don't know how even Martin is falling for it. Do you really think they will give a 40%discount on everything? If it sounds too good to be true...

It certainly is for real, I have saved £19.60 today using the voucher.

Total for 6 good bottles of wine= £48.94
    40% Discount = £19.60
Amount to pay = £29.34

I even used my high street xmas vouchers to pay !!

and yes I did shop around first and this was by far the best deal .

  • Hi,

I have just used the coupon for 40% off this aft, in my local wine rack! It worked fine. I only bought 2 bottles and was only £6.50 saving £4.40, its not bad if you don't want 3 bottles or can't afford that is a better saving than 3 for 2, we worked out. The shop assistant thought I had to buy 6 to get 40% off but she found out that I didn't. Definately worth purchasing at £3.25 a bottle instead of £5 something each!! He he! I might get someone else to purchase some for me for new years at that price!!

  • I just heard the boss man from Stormhoek - a supplier to Thresher - on BBC Radio Five Live. It is 100% kosher and can be used in any stores.

Thresher originally circulated it to friends and families of suppliers but it has apparently been passed all over the place. They will honour all the vouchers though.
