Will do, keep you posted of their next move. I did not pay a penny, my mate is a police sergeant.

Well he'll be no use at all then as the Police almost always refuse to involve themselves in what they term " a civil matter".:D

Hello, its been a while but i got this in the post today from gpd solicitors. We act for debt recovery plus, etc etc. We must now advise you that unless you pay up, our client [d.r.p] may instruct us to issue county court proceedings against you, the claim will also include interest and costs. What should i do, please could i have some advise. Thankyou.

It has been quite a while, but we are starting to see a lot of old cases from DR+. It looks like they are having another rummage through the old unpaid cases. I wonder if it's getting so full that they need the space.

Letters from a solicitor are the final stage in the standard campaign to frighten victims into paying up.

They can't actually do anything, for the same reason that a blackmailer can't take anyone who didn’t pay them to court.

Note the use of the word "may".

Continue to ignore everything you get from them. It does seem odd to deal with something like this by ignoring it. Eventually they will run out of empty threats and stop throwing good money after bad.

In a way, I hope GPD are more efficient than DR+ and send the last few letters quickly.

GPD solicitors are going to issue proceedings for DRP? That would be interesting as only the claimant (the owner of an alleged debt) or a solicitor acting for the claimant can issue a claim!

What did you ever owe DRP?

This is called the TLTRTS tax. [Too lazy to read the stickies Tax]

    Beat me to it.

The original client would have been a PPC, not their tame debt collectors.

Even then, as we all now know, the PPC can't recover any debt on behalf of a landowner anyway.

My God they must be desperate. A letter to the SRA regarding this firm of solicitors is in order. They should NOT be sending threats to people when they know full well that their client is not legally entitled to recover the debt.
