  • thanks :) well, after a brief trip to the supermarket to get more hankies/paracetamol/hand cream/biscuits/etc I convinced myself I had definitely done the right thing, I should not have been behind the wheel of a car. I am also a very fetching shade of grey, which is a good indication that yes, I am proper ill, and no, I shouldn't push things.

things are starting to lift though and I am feeling a bit better. I was hoping to at least do a little painting later, but have decided to leave this until tomorrow. I am hoping for a good night's sleep - I've been struggling a little this week, think it's just been feeling rubbish plus being excited about the dogs and feeling frantic about getting everything done.

So, as well as the essential 'feeling lousy' supplies above, a bottle of Hendricks may have made it into my trolley a week earlier than planned. It was going to be one of my Christmas presents to myself, but there was a lovely cup and saucer in the box and I couldn't resist :D! Hopefully, a little tiny bit of alcohol will help rather than hinder.

I am also going to go in the bath - this week I finally, for the first time in my life, ran out of anything to put in the bath. I never formally joined the "Use up all your toiletries" challenge, but did make a conscious decision to not buy new ones without careful thought.

If I feel OK tomorrow, I am going to have a little wander round the shops - partly to finish my shopping for others, and partly to get my other Christmas present to myself :) And to see if I can find some nice new pyjamas!

For now - off to the Chinese. non MSE, but allowed :) and I will enjoy it!
  • the lurgy is lifting :j thank goodness! last night was a bit scary as my asthma was really bad, but made it through and slept really well.

So I am going to head into the shower for a queen of sheba session, and then going into town for a quick mission....

    On the list
    • Ren Moroccan Rose bath/shower gift box (Merry Christmas to me, from me)
    • Lush stuff for mum
    • Pyjamas and slippers for me
    • 2012 diary from Paperchase
    • 2012 calendar from Paperchase
    • Secret Santa present for work
    • new kettle - birthday present I never bought and must get - mine was bought when I was with XF and every time I look at it I see him...not good when I love cups of tea as much as I do

There is nothing else I need or particularly want right now, apart from an outrageously expensive handbag and a nice man :rotfl: That's quite nice to say actually :)

Ooh, cups of tea and coffee do NOT need any element of stress attached to them - that kettle purchase needs to be waaaaay top of your list!!

Glad you are feeling a little brighter. The sun is shining here, I hope it is where you are too xx

    Evening,

Just a quick one as I am pooped, had a crazy couple of days.

Plasterer has finished and is coming to my harp gig in Jan as his FIL loves jazz

Done lOads of painting and moved furniture into new living room whIch looks ace (few wiring dramas to solve re tv aerial but there we are!)

The dogs are here. Ronnie is just LOVELY very soppy and shaping up to be a real mummy's boy. Wendy is a little more reserved. 2 black dogs going for a walk down a pitch black lane is ermmm interesting!

A Tricky friendship friend is getting married on NYE - mixed feelings about this.

Off out tomorrow eve to see a friends band

To cap it all, sodding MrP is back in touch. Nor worked out why yet.... But will play along for a bit and see what comes of it if anything

Off to bed now as I really am knackered!!

    Evening all,

well it's Christmas Eve and it has taken the kindly act of a neighbour(ish) to finally put me in the Christmas spirit.

Long story but basically I ordered some pyjamas from LaSenza earlier in the week, and they didn't come when they said they would. Rang them, they said they'd been delivered to a neighbour but couldn't tell me which one. I live in quite a rural spot and have only met one of my neighbours. I went on a hunt and saw some very, very scary and upsetting places to live on my travels :( really got me down and I never want to end up living like that. At 8pm this evening I got a little knock at the door, a nice man from another house with the same name had my jammies :j I have had a few things for them including holiday tickets and have always dropped them round myself rather than putting them back in the post. Anyway, my good deeds have paid off and it's nice to know that they are appreciated and returned.

So, now i'm sat in nice Christmas pyjamas :j when I had given up on them!

Feeling a bit strange tbh. The doggies are settling in a treat, I had a bit of a "!!!!!! have I done" moment yesterday but they really have been a joy today. We had a game of chase this afternoon, and seeing Ronnie chasing tennis balls, one in his mouth and chasing the other, has been hilarious. He ended up in the pond  but thank goodness managed to get himself out, and remarkably smells better than he did when he went in! Wendy is settling in too, much more chilled out than Ronnie but she has been in a home before.

I've wrapped pressies, baked dessert (Pears stewed in mulled wine and almond tart) for tomorrow as I'm off to mum and dad's, and I've assembled Christmas dinner - a lovely Stilton, Leek and Potato Pie from the Waitrose magazine as mum and dad are veggie.

I'm off there in the morning, but am also hoping to have a little run out on my bike to Clacton or Frinton depending how I feel. Think it will be Clacton as it's nearer but Frinton is posher  I'll come home in the evening as I don't really want to stay there, would prefer to be at mine. They've moved house many many times since I left home, so 'home' is a tricky one for me as it's not where my parents live.

So many things rattling round my brain, but trying not to dwell and just get through. Lots of changes recently - the house is upside down, the pooches are lovely but bring changes, maybe it's all been too much at once. I ducked out of seeing friends last night, as felt too odd about everything, and MUST stop doing this.

To top off the feelings of weirdness, I dropped my iPhone in the bath last night :( I made the decision to leave things be until a few days time, will go and sort out a PAYG phone. It might dry out (sat in a bag of rice at the moment, keeping fingers crossed) but am prepared for it not doing so. I'm upset about it, more for what it represented - I held off for ages until I was sure I could afford the extra each month. I have always had !!!!!! phones in case I dropped them etc, and I finally took the plunge. Oh well. It's not beyond hope and it's not the end of the world. I feel a bit cut off, but the important people in life know what's happened and can get hold of me if needed.

I'm tucked up with Father Ted and Baileys and some choccies, doggies are fast asleep and I will be too before long.

Merry Christmas everyone, hope it brings you lots of lovely things and you enjoy it whether you are on your own or with loved ones.

    Hi Lionheartedgirl

I'm sorry about your iphone, my blackberry got a good soaking a while ago but it still works except for the camera. Sounds like your doggies are settling in nicely, my moggy is sprawled out in front of the log burning stove at the moment.

    Have a lovely christmas xxxx
