You are still sounding busy, busy, busy - I hope you will be able to calm down enough to enjoy the spa! Still the ride plus fish & chips sounds an excellent day out. I do like your description of being "powered by cake"."Green pastures are before me,
Which yet I have not seen;"
I'd love to be a good example - instead, I am a horrible warning.0 -
thanks Wordsmith, I am gradually calming down plus a couple of nights of proper sleep has helped.
My house looks like it has been hit by a tornado never mind a bomb - and my sister-in-law described my shed and the fields behind it as looking like we were in a film - so this led to me feeling like we were in the Wizard of Oz
the dogs have stayed so I had to move all my shoes into my living room where the harp is (I shut them out of here during the day, and the greyhound chews shoes if she is feeling a little lonely so everything precious just got chucked into the living room!), plus the kitchen isn't huge to start with and is covered in cake tins and baking trays that don't go through the dishwasher  :rotfl:
Tomorrow I don't have to be anywhere at all so am going to have a little bit of a blitz - talk of decluttering elsewhere, plus life feeling a bit mental, is driving me to get everything under control again.
Moneywise, things are tight, but nothing new there. August wedding money has started to roll in, but this is mostly catching up on the credit card bill from Italy. Am waiting for Granny's money to come through which shouldn't be much longer, and I have a firmer plan as to what to do with this.
I was going to pay off the loan, but have decided I may be better hanging on to the cash in case of an emergency - for now the amount is affordable each month, and if I am a bit short in the future I can use it then. That way I can pay for some more bits to be done on the house.
House wise, I am feeling for staying again :rotfl: woman's prerogative and all that
I should be out of debt completely in a couple of years (subject to harp purchasing!), and I am gradually getting a few things into balance both in my head and with my finances. Talk of the interest rates staying low will help me no end, and what I would get for the house in the current market would leave a lot to be desired.
Another MSE poster had put up a quote from the Wizard of Oz a while ago, and it really has stayed with me.
"Oh, but anyway, Toto, we're home. Home! And this is my room, and you're all here. And I'm not gonna leave here ever, ever again, because I love you all, and - oh, Auntie Em - there's no place like home!"
In the mean time, the bills are getting paid, the debt is coming down, fun is being had in a cheap way as it's mostly musical. I feel like I am living at last, and while the bed may be a bit cold
this feels like a small price to pay and one I can live with for the immediate future, given that everything else feels good. 0 -
wow I am missing for a few days and your diary has moved on so much, just read through the past few days so apologies if I get everything the wrong way around...
firstly married men, no way, only one winner and thats the bloke - having cake and eating it and all that....if the wife found out it would be ALL your fault, not his....but you have already decided on this anyways.
As for the Kiwi guy, he took your card, if he hadn't have been interested it would have been filed under B and that would have been the end of it, but he rang (not text) so I think he was genuinely interested and probably still is....just down to the timing thingy.....it hard knowing what to do...for months OH and I talked on msn, both thinking the other wasn't interested. So I would say take the bull by the horns and if you like this guy then you ring him, if he fobs you off then leave it up to him to contact you. If he doesn't then just think that there is something better for you around the corner. (which there most definately is!!)
New bike....hmmm must have missed that one somewhere.....I am sure that I last read that you was undecided about getting another one....I guess by now you have already got him at home...and have been for several blats about....
Nigella's old fashioned chocolate cake sounds very nice...don't suppose you have the recipe....??? I love the baking bit, its just the cleaning up afterwards...says she who has made a chocolate cake, a veg curry and a trifle today as I am stuck at home....
Virign OMG !! how can they justify such an increase in a credit limit??
With regards to the house, I am up there with you on that one....even though I kinda decided to move back in/stay, I don't really feel that I want to. Its just a place that we live in, it doesn't feel like home anymore....sounds a bit weird I know....I guess for you when the time is right you will be able to make that decision as to whether you should stay or leave.
Hope you have a chillaxing evening....

*waves to BF* was just wondering where you had got to and how things were! haven't popped in on you in ages!
watched Parenthood tonight and had to share a little quote from Grandma...
You know, when I was nineteen, Grandpa took me on a roller coaster. Up, down, up, down. Oh, what a ride! I always wanted to go again. You know, it was just so interesting to me that a ride could make me so frightened, so scared, so sick, so excited, and so thrilled all together! Some didn't like it. They went on the merry-go-round. That just goes around. Nothing. I like the roller coaster. You get more out of it.
had a harp lesson tonight and a very interesting conversation with my teacher about picking up some teaching work....lots to think about! :eek:0 -
You're sounding very positive and happy. Have you got time for a man in your life?

I read on your diary quickly last night, thought things had been full on here! but I am so glad you have had a break and been getting out on your bike!
I ummed and ahhhhhed for AGES about the new bike. But I have it now, a beautiful blue/white GSXR750. Only ridden him the once as things have been so busy, but hoping to get out again over the weekend and next week as I don't have any teaching after work.
I got my brave hat on and sent the lovely person a message on FB. Fingers crossed as he is really, really lovely! kept it as light hearted and jokey as I could and am hoping I don't sound too loony. If it doesn't work, I will let it lie (oooohhhhhh!) for a while and stick to bikes and harps
as LB said, I don't really have much time to fit anyone in anyway :rotfl:
had better go and get to bed, it's my boss's last day before she finishes for her holiday tomorrow so I see a lot of distraction and a very long list of things to do

Sometimes we sit on fences and ummm and argggh about should we/shouldn't we, when its just better to jump in with both feet and think what will be, will be, sometimes things work out and voila you got your new bike....(have to say not up to that standard yet and just pottering about on my 125 at the moment suits me - need more confidence, - Having said all of that I need to get off my arris and go out on my own and stop procrastinating about it!!)
So thats me signing off and getting all kitted up for a ride out on my bike....:)Total debt £[STRIKE]37864.78 [/STRIKECOLOR=purple][STRIKE] £31681.03[/STRIKE] -£16700
