Not only did I get my £40.00 but I recently changed utility suppliers and the nice helpline I went through credited my bank account today with three £15.00 payments. Obviously they believe in everything being done in triplicate.

Just checked my statement, 2nd £40 is now in the bag!

Thanks LTSB for a free £80 all told!

Well, I only made just over £12 (didn't have the patience or means to do all the x.01 spends, lol), but it has given us an extra day out with the kids this Easter, so thank you to the original posters who found this and took the time to post.

I rang up and cancelled STC over the phone last week. Unable to close the savings account since they require either a snail-mail letter or your presence in a branch. So I just reduced the balance to zero.

Ok, they will do it over the phone. I'm off to make that call. Thanks

got my free £50. most of it was done using egg and i also sent loads of 1p paypal payments to addresses i used previously. the majority of these were later declined and paid back into my account so i didn't really spend anything. :)
What's it going to be, eh?

I cancelled mine over the phone. Kept the saving as I've always had that.
