The account has to be in credit. They will not apply Save the Change to any overdrawn account whether it is within an authorised amount or not.

can anyone else confirm this is correct? i've just opened up a lloyds savings account, registered for save the change and opened an egg account.

i'd be a tad annoyed if this doesn't work just because i'm into my student account overdraft. firstly because of the hassle and secondly i really could do with this £100
What's it going to be, eh?

That is correct. My student daughter is doing exactly the same, but it must not be overdrawn at all in order to qualify throughout the time

    7. If on any day you do not have sufficient funds in your current account to pay your debit card transactions or if any single transaction has taken your account overdrawn (whether or not the overdraft is authorised), we will not round up any debit card transactions on that day and no “change” will be transferred to your nominated savings account. We will not make a Save the Change transfer to your nominated savings account if that transfer will take your current account overdrawn, or if payments remain outstanding that would take your account overdrawn.
I'd guess that they will enforce this one, since they really don't want to be accused of making money out of people's overdrafts.

  • I made an online transfer of £5.01 to my credit card from my lloyds ac a week ago but it hasn't transferred the save the change difference (99p) to my savings account, all of my other debit card transactions have gone through fine. Am I doing something wrong?

Check your Lloyds online statement - did the transaction go through as a DEBit card transaction or Bill Payment ?
If you put your general location in your Profile, somebody here may be able to come and help you.

Which site did you use to perform the transfer? Your LTSB Current account? (This won't work - it'll go down as a bill payment, not a debit card transaction.) Or your Credit Card's site (which credit card?)

As I indicated in my other post, you need to make the payment from your credit card's site - which credit card is it? Someone who has it can probably give instructions - if indeed it's even possible with that credit card; some don't allow it online.

Any payment option for your credit card that requires the 16 digit number across the middle of your card will be what you need.

  • My card is with Halifax & I have just tried to make a payment on their website using the debit card & takes me to a link called worldpay ltd, then asks me to fill in my debit card details & address etc. Do you know if this is correct? I haven't made a pyment to a c/c online before.
