:j yes i have 1 server that runs 24/7but it is a very small server (vecile pc running of a 12V battery supplied mainly by another solar system-backed up by mains if volts drop sub 11v)
But anyways i work from home as does wife and mother lives in annexe connected to main house so our daily usage is very high and my Koi pond does not help
so that is why i went for free system...
I don't really care what homesun have claimed or not in the past i here and now state i have no connection to them apart from they installed a free 16 panel system on my 30m2 roof and i get the eleccy generated from them free.
Yes i have changed habits the washing machine and dishwasher go on one after the other (they have delay timers) during the day.
as for customer service i find it very good.0 -
My experience so far.
Survey done.
Received telephone call 15th Sept., informing me that I qualify for Free panels, and that Documentation would be sent within ten working days.
No documents as yet, although a neighbour who had survey on same day as us received documents four days ago.0 -
the energy saving trust has shown saving are on average £70 a year for a `normal` use 3 bedroom house , rising to £120 approx for a large house thats busy during the day.......
also eastbourne borough council will be putting live data for the upcoming solarbourne scheme of 1500 houses on its own website and linking from the EST website as well - data will be near live as well, total system utput at any given time of day / year , also asked for a breakdown in the format of `house a , south facing 40 degree pitch` or similar if possible
so if a council can give near accurate savings figures - it shows someone isnt telling too much truth....0 -
Homesun Survey completed 7th Sept.
Telephone call on 15th Sept., informing me that we qualify for free solar,
and documentation would arrive within 10 working, nothing received as yet.
Neighbour who had survey completed on same day as us, has received documentation.
I'll Post an update when something happens.0 -
Have tried contacting Homesun by e-mail and telephone, no reply to e-mail and on pressing option 1 on the telephone, the phone cuts out, no reply, this happened twice.
Is there another number other than 08448240000 ?????
HOORAY! had a reply, but still do not know when I will receive the documents.
Will just have to wait and see.
At least they have a record of my application.
Update!
Day one. Scaffolding erected in one and a half hours.
Day two 16 panel system installed and running in four hours.
Very professional.
Three minor tears in roofing felt, repaired by myself using Roofing felt adhesive and roofing felt patches.
Day one was fairly cloudy but system was generating 500w.
Today generating 1.4 - 1.5kw. Cloudy with intermittent sunshine.0 -
Had our 12 panel array installed today. Installers finished at a reasonable time. So far produced 4Kwh.
Took about a month start to finish. As far as I can tell no hiccups.
Inverter is a Frontius IG 30. Unfortunately there seems no way of downloading the data without fitting an expansion card. A bit disappointed in this as I can't play with the data and compare with the other Homesun subscribers in the office who seem to have this feature.
For the first time in two years my marine fishtank isn't costing me a fortune

Just to make you aware, the moneysavingexpert email stated that homesun "say they plan to continue" (with free solar) but the automated email I received from them today said this:
"When the subsidy changes, we will be offering the SolarShare programme with a price point dependent on the level of the subsidy."0 -
I tried to get some but was told my roof was not facing the correct way, i replied explaining that my unobstructed south west roof gets sunlight from early morning to late evening. They did reply thanking me for my detailed explanation but now my roof is not big enough. Just wish people would give you all the reasons first time rather than you responding to one and then they come back with another.0

Been in the system a while. Lease agreement finalised 6th October. Installation due on 11th November. 31st October - they cancelled owing to "no availability in your area". Seems a big coincidence they cancel the day the Govt paper is out......0
