I contacted homesun as i read reviews and thought it was a way forward to help the environment. I have since had 4 failed appointments that they can't be bothered to call or turn up to. They are a joke... I have wasted 4 mornings waiting in for there so called surveyor that seems to have vanished off the face of the earth. I hope you guys have better luck.0

Can you confirm if this has been resolved, if not please send an email to customerservices@homesun.com and ensure you retain the subject line as 'Moneysavingexpert' followed by your username, this will help us flag your email as urgent and it will be promptly passed on to our head of survey operations.
I will ensure to follow this up with him and that you are contacted.

I live near Southampton. We had our solar panels fitted by Homesun 27 June. Sadly, we are still not benefitting from free energy as I can't get anyone to connect them!
There was no problem getting the panels fitted but the contractors didn't have an electrician available that day. I was told someone would ring to arrange connection. 4 days later an electrician arrived from AVC, unannounced, just as I was leaving for work. Some weeks later someone from AVC rang and arranged for fitting on Aug 1st. I waited in all day... no show. I was told when I rang AVC that they had been advised by Homesun not to complete any more work for them - not even to advise customers.
I rang Homesun who told me they would get their new contractor to ring to make an appointment to connect the panels. No-one has contacted me. I have tried emailing Homesun - they do not reply. I've 'phoned several times and always received sympathy from the people I talk to. They promise someone will ring me and arrange an appointment. Yesterday I was promised an email today - nothing!
I don't know what to do now...
So, NO, I most definitely would NOT RECOMMEND HOMESUN!

Is it just me being a little cynical, but I find it a little coincidental that around the same time as an advertised program on TV exposing some areas of the solar pv industry as being a little shoddy is to be shown, others suddenly decide that they better look around for any loose ends which they could be criticised on ... :think: .... no, thinking about it, it's probably not just me

Really not bluffing?

The figures you provided regarding Mr Cotton's usage cannot be seen as reasonable or representitive when compared with any source, including PVGIS, SMA, the Government's SAP calculation or even my own generation .... it's just unbelieveable that anyone would forward such figures and really does nothing other than reinforce any negative views of the 'rent-a-roof' sector which I may hold.
This kind of calculation of the likely annual savings is one step short of claiming that if a system produced it's maximum of 3.5kW once and half of the power was being used in the house, the power saving calculation would be .....
3.5kW x 8Hrs/Day x 365Days/year x £0.10/kWh x 50% = £511/year
..... it's just not realistic to do this, but that's effectively only producing a figure which is double your claim, which means that you would expect to generate an average of 1.75kW, for an average of 8 hours, every day of the year ........
You have a chance to redeem yourself and your product offering by providing more realistic information, else opening the defence of the product up to well deserved ridicule ......Hi Cardew,
