:rotfl:Got ya! A case of left hand and right hand, I'd guess. And, of all the companies that have been installing panels on the IOW, Homesun was the only one to 'have a moan' in our local paper recently.

I suppose it is what you mean by 'going to the wall'.

Like any 'Rent a Roof' company Homesun have an income stream from the FITs they will get for the remainder of the 25 year term.

Also, during the initial feeding frenzy, from the poor gullible people they 'persuaded' that £5 a month maintenance fee (plus a £500 upfront fee) for 25 years was a good idea - absolutely disgraceful.

There were enough warnings on this site about Krish's(now manager??) input. How he was given permission to come on this website to get publicity for this terrible company is a mystery.

No doubt they will try a different scheme to con customers to pay them for the privilege of letting them use their roof! BE WARNED

I strongly advise anyone thinking of getting solar panels via a government subsidy, to make sure they get a solicitor to take a look at the lease first. A lease added to your property is a legal procedure, and it is IMPORTANT!

If the business model worked in 2009 to start installation early 2010, why doesn't it work now ??
    It of course does.
However, investment capital available to this sort of business varies dramatically as returns do.
The amount of capital available when you double the return goes way, way, way up.

    Hi

I agree, but what needs to be remembered is that the investment capital was made available at 2009 rates with 2009 returns ... all that has recently happened is that the government have pressed the 'margin reset' button ....

I find it quite unbelieveable that Homesun are one of the organisations involved in challenging the tariff change in the High Court .... I'd just love to see the spin which they would be using to defend the expansion of their income stream, however the outcome really depends on how informed the court is ..... I suppose that they could do far worse than read threads on this forum .... :D;)

    The initial 2009 money, yes.
However, the rash of firms coming into the market in 2011 were not started with expectations of 2009 like returns, so found getting funding lots easier.
Same with the older firms seeking new investments.

The notion that you can give 'fair warning' - say 6 months - of a tariff cut is regrettably barking mad.
The only way this could work and not lead to hundreds of thousands of new installs would be to simply limit the number of applications.
  • Hi
I have found this forum is gloom towards this company. There must be someone out there with good news towards this company.

Is Mr Green not telling the truth then ? :rotfl:

Carillion is also the sole provider for Homesun, whose Chief Executive Officer, Daniel Green, labelled the proposed cuts as “impossible” for the industry and more specifically for aggregator schemes such as Homesun’s. Mr Green also warned that he would be forced to make redundancies if the cuts move forward as proposed.

    Hi SYNERGY,

Daniel Green our CEO stated how the proposed cuts could dramatically affect the industry if they were to go ahead at such a low rate. They would directly affect HomeSun employees, however as yet no jobs have been lost. On the other hand, I again state that HomeSun do not employee any Fitters or Surveyors directly. They are subcontracted. They are there to do a job on behalf of HomeSun.

  • Interesting stuff lately! We had a visit from a surveyor from a different company - very efficient and thorough. I think the company he worked for was called AVC. The chap told me that they were also getting all of Homesun's contracts soon as well as working for several other "referral" companies. He suggested that if this survey failed on their points system I could try Homesun again. I don't think I will though ...

Very wise, Tedward. I've shown a copy of Homesun's lease to a couple of solicitors, the local Trading Standards Office, and our MP. Their comments make interesting reading. Bear in mind that the contract isn't the lease of the roof itself, but the space above the roof. I say again, before you consider solar panels, make sure you get legal advice on any lease! If you don't, either you or your family could have HUGE problems selling your property at a later date.

Putting employees on 90 days consultation does not mean the company is going into administration.

There are many companies that make staff redundant to cut costs and it doesn't mean that company has gone bust. For example Thomas Cook have just announced redundancies and store closures ....
