  • If anyone could help much appreciated. Today I received a list of services and payments from the nursery my son attended over a year ago, no letter of request for payment, just an outstanding balance of 165pounds on the long list of numbers. What I would like to know is do I have to pay this bill if they havnt sent it in a reasonable amount of time (over a year seems a long time), also it lists service they didn't provide in june 2012, we were in france for the month, but i can't prove they didnt provide the service. any help appreciated.

If you do not pay the bill then it may well be referred to debt collection when it is likely to get bigger, as charges will be applied. If you had a contract with the nursery and you haven't fulfiiled your side of the bargain (ie paid) then probably best to pay.

If you disagree with any of the charges you could write to them and dispute the bill.

You need to be aware though that nurseries which are businesses tend to charge for the place they make available for your child whether or not the child actually attends the nursery; this is even more likely if you did not give them notice of your holidays.

You would be foolish to simply ignore the bill.

  • I recently (a month ago) bought 2 pairs of football boots from Sportsdirect.com. I had an account with them so my order was quick and easy as my card details and address etc was already there; great - shoes to arrive within the week. WRONG! one month later I still have no footy boots, nor do I have my money back. Sports direct shipped my order via Yodel, who delivered the order to a 'neighbour'. The neighbour didnt live on my street, infact, they lived 5 streets down from me and deny all knowledge of ever receiving a parcel with my delivery address on it at all. I went back to Yodel who said I had to contacty S.D, which I did, almost 3 weeks ago now. I called and e-mailed them as requested. gave all the information they required (order number, yodel tracking number, my address on the SD account) They aknowledged that they had indeed delivered to the wrong address and I would receive a call back within 10 days to advise when my order would arrive as they were going to ship me two new pairs to the correct address. That was 12 days ago now and I have heard nothing. I called them again rthis morning only to be told that I had enetered the incorrect delivery address when placing my order and that my order was with a neighbour. Back to square one...! The lady was extremely rude and denied I had ever made any calls to their customer services dept before today. She said it was my fault and that they would investigate but it wouldnt really help as my order had definatlky been delivered. YES _ JUST NOT TO ANY NEIGHBOUR OF MINE! I have now been advised that I must wait a further 10 working days and then write a letter of complaint to SD head office which they then have 28 days to investigate! all the time I have no money and no product for my efforts! Is there anything at all I can do...? These boots were presents for family members and now I have had to go and rebuy elswhere in the meantime and wont even need if they ever do turn up!
  • Hi I am new to this so I hope I am in the right place.

Last month I paid a deposit towards a stay at Alton Towers. The money showed coming out of my bank account. Today I got a phone call saying due to a blip the money didnt go out and they will now take the payment. I checked my bank account and the money didnt go out but should I still pay seeing as I have paid the remainder with the understanding that they had payment and I had received a confirmation email saying all was paid when I paid the remainder.

    Any help much appreciated.

You agreed to pay the whole amount, and it hasn't been paid, so yes you need to pay.
  • Please Help!!!

God I feel so stupid, was on facebook the other day and this picture of a super slim bird popped up with a message of how to get a toned belly, so what do I do? go on the website which offered a free 14 day trial for £4.99 and ordered me some tablets.

Received 60 tablets and thought nothing of it, and then £99 came out of my bank for a months supple. Apparently further down the page it said you have to ring up and cancel after 14 days if you don't want them. So they didn't send me a trial at all.

Now Im trying to get money back and they are saying they haven't received them when I sent them back two weeks ago.

    Who can I contact???

    You are not the first.

Have a read of this lengthy Ketone thread.

All the advice you'll need is in there.
  • I purchased a used combi unit from optical marketplace, (a website where you can buy and sell optical items).
It was bought as working and should not have been dismantled until we had viewed it. The seller dismantled it, guaranteed it was working, we collected it and took it to our opticians but when we assembled it had a fault.
The seller then went on holiday for 2 weeks, during which time an engineer was sent out who couldnt repair it.
after 4 weeks it was finally repaired yesterday.
I was wondering if I am within my rights to request a discount due to the inconvenience and the fact that it has taken up space in our testing room therefore delaying us from setting up our sight testing room.
    many thanks
