This sounds way too complex for me to offer an opinion/advice

head your thread something like Ombudsman found in my favour but I will still be out of pocket - what now?

Manufacturer Refurbished Netbook with Warranty - Packard Bell Netbook
Netbook battery wont hold charge. Seller did not exclude battery from warranty in listing, or mention its faulty condition. Described as A1.
I've asked the seller to replace the netbook, or to replace the battery, or to provide a partial refund to purchase a replacement battery.
I know I can raise a PayPal dispute but then I am £10+ return postage down, then the replacement might be no better. (Its easier to replace battery).
What can I do if the seller refuses to replace the battery, or passes me onto Acer. I know Acer will say.. "we don't warranty batteries" but my contract is with the seller.0 -
Hi guys
i have an Arnova 9G2 laptop which i bought from Currys 14months ago
the warranty is only 12 months
the issue is both software and that the battery will not charge so is effectivly dead
where do you stand on repair or replacement?
as i feel the device should last longer than a year
thanks

Bought an Epson xp 800 from Currys 6/7/13 but didn't open it until 2 weeks ago. It's faulty and won't print black ink, only colour. Took it back to Currys last Saturday, six weeks since bought. They would only send it back to Epson for repair although its faulty (a common fault we've since found out) They won't replace as it cost over £100, or refund. Are they right?0

The retailer will offer the remedy that best suits them; in this case they have elected to have the item repaired. So simply, yes they are.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Do I have any consumer rights or did I leave it too long before taking it back? If it comes back still faulty do I have the right to ask for a refund or replacement?0 -

If you had returned it to Currys sooner, within 28 days I think, you could've taken advantage of their returns policy which is in addition to your statutory rights.

I got married at the end of June and paid a small company nearly £700 to drape the room in material. Just before the guests arrived it fell down and some more fell down during the speeches. Some of my photos are ruined as it looks really rubbish. I have spoken to them twice and they are not interested and say someone must have touched the wall or the chairs were too close. I am now writing. Should I cc someone into the letter?
Thanks0 -

No; but when you write stick to the facts and tell them what you want by way of 'compensation'. In this circumstance, as it was a one-off they cannot do it again; your day was spoiled and you were disappointed, so a partial refund would appear, to me, to be the way forward with this.
Save copies of all letters so that you can escalate your complaint later.
Just as an aside, what method of payment did you use?Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
