That perhaps I was polite and factual, not sarcastic and angry with my request and the postmaster went out of his way to help me ?

All I said to him was he has my parcel, my address is ___, and can he please redeliver it. What is rude in that? (He didn't see my email, obviously.) But in any case, what you are saying is that if someone is rude, Royal Mail policy is to treat their customers and their customers property with less care than if someone tells them they are wonderful. Nice. I'll have to remember that.

Is it going 'out of his way' to redeliver a parcel? Maybe I don't understand. Maybe that whole 'arrange a redelivery' form on their site actually means something else.

I dealt with the police following an incident with knife crime (I was a witness) - Personally I found them absolutely fantastic. End result - a six month jail sentence for the offender.

So, you got someone locked up for six months of their life. What were the citrcumstances? Why did the person attack the other with a knife. Do you know? If not, you should be ashamed. I would be. (Eg. Maybe the 'victim' raped the attackers sister?) If you do know all the circumstances I am wrong, which I admit. But blanket 'look he has a knife take six months of his life away' policy is just dumb, and wrong.

Personally, I have always found the police to be bullies, stupid to the extreme and rude. And no, I have never been arrested, or even given a ticket. I have, however, seen them knock people unconscious with sticks for being drunk on a Saturday night, and crash into a parked car due to them speeding whilst chasing a 'criminal' through crowded streets, breaking the legs of the young woman sitting in said parked car, for which they received no punishment whatsoever.

    Absolutely fantastic.

A letter of complaint should outline to the company what issues you have encountered and possibly solutions for them.

What you have written is a rant. It is well known that people do not respond in kind to these tactics.

have you allowed 30 calendar days for them respond ?

Yes, I'll wait 30 days whilst my medication sits in the post office. Good. Thanks. Maybe I'll even still be able to function and open their reply.

And we have a winner! This is perhaps the most annoying comment yet.

The fundamental service provided by royal mail is to take a letter from A to B. Not to take a letter from A to B then decide to leave it at C if we can't be ar%$d to redeliver it. By the way, I did pay for the 'premium service' (whatever that is).

I say again, if you work(ed) for the post office, I think I can see the problem. Nice attitude you have there.

no it doesnt,I have never worked for the Post Office

OMFG. Someone that agrees. I may swoon.

I'm not angling for free stamps though, I just want my parcel delivered. Like they contracted to do.

No - I think you'll find that they got THEMSELVES locked up for six months by taking a big (very big) knife out on to the street.

Yes, I do know the reason - but that is besides the point. Personally, I don't care what the circumstances are - I reported what I saw - it was up to the police to deal with the investigation and for the CPS to press charges.

My reply was based on your letter in your first post, so I admit I do not know what conversation you had on the phone (Hence the question mark and the "Perhaps")

If you were polite and factual, then yes, I agree that the person on the other end of the phone was wrong to laugh and redelivery should have been arranged. However, I think your letter is long winded and full of emotion rather than simple plain fact.

My first, second, and third, emails all said: You delivered my parcel to ___ post office, please redeliver it to ___. I am now ranting because I am utterly pi878d off. Forgive me. I know it's unseemly.

    (a) See above. (b) If I ran a company, no matter what it's size, I would treat people that were utterly pi878d off as a priority because (i) they must have a reason to be pi878d off at my company and (ii) they will spread their anger to other potential customers. But, as I've said previously, I'm no doubt a fool for thinking so. What I should have said to the 'postmaster' laughing at me was ho ho ho, thanks for keeping my medication from me, I love you.

    Exactly.

They are hardly going to respond well to you stamping your feet and rolling around on the floor.
